Great Location on Lake in Deep Water Cove!
Convenient to Madison, Reynolds Plantation, just off Highway 44.
Tara Lane at Lake Oconee. This 3+ bedroom house directly on a beautiful cove of Lake Oconee offers a great getaway vacation for families that like to vacation with friends, or just couples looking for a great place to fish, swim, boat or just enjoy some quality time at the lake.
Located south of I-20 and Greensboro (exit 130) about 75 minutes east of I-285, our Tara Lane house is a 2-story home surrounded by shaded hardwoods with a full-size private dock and boat slip. Our dock is set about halfway into a deep water cove, conveniently off the main channel of Lake Oconee, across from Reynolds Plantation and just around the bend from Cuscowilla and Great Waters.
We are also located less than 30 minutes from Madison. Madison offers antique shops, restaurants, unique shops and seasonal festivals and events. It is a great getaway for the evening or when you want to take a partial day break from lake activities. Information on the area available through the MadisonGa website or through the site for LakeOconeeLiving.
You do not have to leave the property to enjoy a multitude of activities. The dock sits on 8 feet of water and great fishing can be had without even getting in a boat.
Crappie, catfish and bass are routinely caught by a cast from our dock. Swimming and other water fun is also an opportunity in this quiet cove.
The large, almost 1-acre shaded yard is great for those family lawn games. Bring your balls and gloves and play pitch and catch. Or, take advantage of our badminton and volleyball set. Or, throw some horseshoes. When you tire of physical activity, read a book or take a nap in the wooden swing. Or just sit on the covered porch and enjoy the great view of the lake.
The house is set up for all the amenities of a year-round home at the lake.
The house has 3 queen beds and a kids sleep area with a full bed. We officially can sleep seven, but with two sofas and several pallet/sleeping bag areas, two families can easily sleep up to 10.
The oversized family room includes a 46' flat screen cable television and fireplace, 2 sofas and 2 recliners. There is a fully stocked kitchen, including brand new stove top and granite counters. But most of the time, we prefer to eat out on the large covered porch, which has a gas grill and equipment for a good old-fashioned fish fry.
The house also has three full baths, a washer and dryer and a whirlpool bath in the master bedroom.
Tara Lane is less than 2 miles to Publix, a variety of restaurants, a movie theater and plenty of bait shops. While we do not offer a boat for use, there are several opportunities in the immediate area and our dock has a boat slip available.
To maintain the quality of our retreat, it is being offered by referral of our family and friends only to discriminating and select guests. This will ensure that each guest to our lake house will have a rejuvenating visit. We personally employ a local housekeeper to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort details are met.
Key features of Tara Lane at Lake Oconee include:
• Lake-front heated/AC 2400 sq. foot house with large covered porch overlooking scenic Lake Oconee
• Full-size dock, including inside boat slip available for parking your boat (subject to boat size)
• 3+bedrooms (each with queen bed), 3 full baths with kids sleep room
• full size washer and dryer
• whirlpool Jacuzzi tub in master bedroom
• fully stocked linens and towels
• large covered porch, with rockers, eating table with chairs, and gas grill
• lawn chairs for use
• large relatively flat yard perfect for family lawn games
• horseshoes, badminton and volleyball available
• 46' Flat Screen Cable Television and DVD player in living room & 32' Flat Screen Cable Television in the Master Bedroom
• washer and dryer in condo
• Smoke-free and pet-free house
• lawn chairs and umbrellas available
• Fully stocked kitchen and appliances
• Full array of water sports and golf available
• Shopping, dining and theaters nearby
Tara Lane is located in Martin Oaks, nearby to Cuscowilla off Highway 441, about 10 minutes south of I-20. It is convenient to metro Atlanta and Athens.

This is our third time staying in this rental and again it is a wonderful place to stay. Great location, good fishing, well furnished home, and great owners. We enjoyed the new large TV in the living room and the owners went out of their way to be sure we had everything we needed. This is now our home away from home. Thank ya'll for allowing us to stay, we had a wonderful time and look forward to returning every chance we get.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our family met for Thanksgiving here. I did extensive research to find just the right house for us. We are a family that love to play Wii and chose this house over 2 others that were less expensive because it advertised a 50 inch tv which is great for Wii bowling, golf and tennis. We were very disappointed to find a 32 inch. The owner apologized but offered no more. I had payed a higher price for their house than the others we considered. I looked today at their ad 6 weeks later and the 50 inch is still there. Gave me a sour taste.Owner response: As we said previously, we are sorry for you disappointment with the size of the TV. We have replaced that TV with a 46" Flat Screen TV and the 32" Flat Screen TV has been moved upstairs to the master bedroom. The correction on the rental site was simply an oversight due to a busy holiday season. It was certainly not our intention to misrepresent the property in any way.

Great home on the lake with excellent fishing from the dock. The home is extremely clean and the area is very peaceful. It's not far from town so that was nice when needing groceries or bait. This is one of the best vacation rentals on Lake Oconee. We can't wait to go back.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our group had a great time on Tara Lane. We were in the area to play some golf and relax. The house did not disappoint. You are only 15 minutes from I-20 and all the necessary amenties are a few short minutes away. We ate twice at the Silver Moon (great local joint - less than 5 minutes away), and visited Gaby's by the Lake at Reynolds Plantation. Even so, our best meal was right on the patio at the house overlooking the lake. 3 bathrooms (all with showers) made getting cleaned up a breeze and the rec room (garage) was an added treat. I am an early riser & was fortunate to witness 3 great Lake Oconee sunrises while fishing from the dock. Super smooth rental process....a great spot for boaters, fisherman, golfers and families with kids....we look forward to hopefully returning!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children, sightseeing.

This is a perfect family getaway location, quiet, well maintained, very roomy, and perfect flat walking distance to a nice full sized dock. Nice central location convenient to bait shops, grocery store, and eating places. Also Walmart just 11 miles away in Eatonton. The owners are so easy to work with and they have furnished it with both adults and children in mind. I would definitely give this rental a A-1 thumbs up rating and definitely will rent it again in the future.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Thank you so much for letting us rent your lake house!! We had an awesome time! My three kids loved swimming on the shore near the dock. Fishing was excellent too! The location was great and it was so easy to come and go!! You were right about the lake traffic, there wasn't hardly any near the house!! The lake was so calm and peaceful; even for July!!! The house doesnt look that big from the pictures and the outside, but on the inside there is so much room!! We had family in and out all week and the house never got crowded. We loved the dock and porch! The central air kept us cool on even the hotest days!!! We loved the house and the location! We didn't have one complaint!!! We will def rent this house again!!!! Thanks again, you were excellent to work with!!!!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We spent the week at this great lake house. The house is very comfortable and roomy. The porch is great for cookouts or just watching the sunset. The cove is great for kids to swim in and we didn't have to worry about boats flying in and out. The yard is great for games and general family fun. Very quiet and peaceful for our family vacation. Thank you for allowing us to use your home. We will definetly be back.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

About the owner: Welcome to our Lake House at Tara Lane. Our family is the first and only owners of this fine getaway. Our father had a lifelong love of fresh water fishing and has had homes at different times on three lakes. He found Lake Oconee to simply be the best lake in all of Georgia. This lake and our cove are a fisherman’s delight. Sizable fish can be caught off the dock. Of course, get in a boat and there are great fishing holes to be found just around the bend. As our Dad fought through a protracted illness, Tara Lane became a place of rest and peace … and reflection. Our entire family has enjoyed very warm times sitting on the dock, talking, fishing and more than occasionally snagging a nice catfish, bass, crappie or even a carp.
Why the Owner Chose Greensboro:
Unlike many lake properties, our lake house has a relatively level and grassy yard. Lawn games are not something from the past, here. We have had great wiffle ball games. Horseshoes, volleyball and croquet are also pastimes when you get tired of floating in the lake cove.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Finally, this long has been a second home that could handle all of the extended family. We officially have beds for 8, but kids have found lots of other fun places to sleep, as well. The updated kitchen is stocked to handle any crowd, including all the equipment for a fish fry out on the covered porch.
We have many great memories and are pleased to share our lake home with discerning guests.
