Fanned by the gentle Caribbean breeze, the luxurious Bananaquit House is set on a hillside looking out over the ocean with wonderful views of the famous Pitons. On leaving a private lane, steps lead you down through the garden planted with a variety of colorful plants and flowers onto a terrace with a pool, loungers and outdoor seating area. The terrace leads onto the main floor of the house which is open plan painted in cool white with a dining area and several sitting areas, all of which enjoy the same stunning view over the treetops below over the ocean to the Pitons.
The bedrooms are all well-appointed with original greenheart floors:
The upper bedroom is beautifully furnished with antique French faux bamboo style twin beds and opens into a dressing room and large bathroom with shower and bath and cool mosaic tiled walls. The master bedroom on the lower floor features a king-size four-poster bed, en-suite bathroom also decorated with Italian mosaic tiles and a private balcony overlooking the garden, sea and Pitons. The second bedroom on this floor has a king size bed and opens onto a shady terrace. The third bedroom on this floor is designed with children in mind and has a bunk bed, single bed and pull out spare bed. These two bedrooms share a bathroom. On the upper floor there is a mezzanine level which can also be used as a bedroom for older children with a double and single bed.
The four staff on hand from 8am to 4pm are also available full-time upon request. They attend to guests' needs,housekeeping and cook delicious meals as well as taking care of the laundry and cleaning. There is also a handy-man or odd job man who can collect groceries and assist around the house and with luggage.
The garden is terraced and planted with a variety of flowers and visited by hummingbirds, finches and other beautiful local birds.
The nearest beach is a three to four minute drive away and has a PADI diving school as well as some excellent snorkeling and a holiday here can be as relaxing or energetic as you like. For those preferring the quiet life, a masseuse can be easily arranged to visit the house and restore harmony.
