This site was perfect for our vacation. There were 18 of us and we rented this house and the one next door. Each family had their own bedroom and bathroom, plus there was a half bath on the first floor of each house. They both had extensive porches with ceiling fans, wonderful on hot days. The creek/canal out front was perfect for our purposes. We had 7 young men from the ages of 11 to 27 and the extensive level yards and the kayaks at the houses were put to good use. Most had not used a kayak before and the creek was the perfect learning place. My son brought his boat and he was able to put it in the lake at a public launching area just down the road and kept it in one of the boathouses for the week. The short ride from the houses, in the creek to the lake, was fun and the lake was beautiful. The kayaks went to the lake also, and found a neat swimming cove where the water wasn’t deep. They would anchor the kayaks and jump in. There was a super Walmart about a half hour away, and with one family cooking each night and a leftovers night we ate home most of the time. We have a cute picture of some of the boys in the dark & rain, surrounding the firepit, with a large umbrella over their heads, roasting marshmallows. We came from 5 different states, the furthest being California, and just had a wonderful family time. The people we rented from were awesome also. We called about a problem and had fast action and they were wonderful to deal with. I would recommend these houses to any one and especially to someone with an active family.

This house and property are very nice and provide a unique combination of a clear mountain creek setting with easy downstream access to the big water of Lake Burton. We brought our ski boat, used the kayak provided, fished, hiked and explored the creek. It was a peaceful and comfortable stay. The owner was easy and pleasant to coordinate with and always responsive.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.
