When visiting our daughter, we enjoy staying in different neighborhoods in SF. This was our first time in the Haight, and we were very pleased with the apartment for several reasons. Humaira was always helpful, giving us information about parking (no problem at all), grocery shopping, and restaurants. Because of the unusually warm weather we were even able to enjoy the backyard, which is a definite plus for a studio apartment. The bed was very comfortable, and the space adequate for our needs. We were very satisfied with this VRBO apartment.Recommended for: Age 55+.

If you are heading to SF and need an affordable, pleasant place to stay in a cool part of town, this is the place for you. The location, in Haight-Ashbury, can't be beat. We had a rental car and were able to find street parking with a little effort, even on Bay-to-Breakers weekend. It's also 2 blocks away from major bus lines, so it's fairly easy to get to Market St., BART, etc. And you are also reasonably close to Golden Gate Park, with all the good things there. There is plenty of shopping in H-A (including groceries if you plan to eat in), restaurants, bars, and all other kinds of neat stuff, so be sure to spend a day near your apartment looking around the area. This is a studio apartment so it is really only appropriate for an individual or a couple. There is a kitchen with all the utensils. There is no clothes washer/drier, so you'll need to factor that into your plans. Cell phone reception inside the studio is spotty to absent (as is the case in many parts of SF), but the wireless internet connection worked well and once I walked out onto the back patio I was able to use my cell phone without problems. The owner, Humaira, is pleasant and reasonable. Don't be put off by the security deposit - provided you use the place as intended, you will get it back without question. I recommend this VRBO heartily and will certainly rent it out for another week the next time I'm in SF.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car.

We had planned to visit for three nights in mid-May. The apartment was booked easily and quickly following email exchange with the owner. Unfortunately, we had a family emergency and had to cancel just a few days after the contract was signed. Humaira was very understanding and arranged for a refund quite speedily. I am currently waiting for the refund check to arrive, but I'm sure it will be here soon. I look forward to trying again soon.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I stayed here for the month of February. I had a lovely stay. I found it a very clean, cheerful and comfortable studio. The bed and linen were especially high quality. The kitchen is fully functional. It has its own private entrance. It is located close to everything no car is necessarily. The WiFi worked perfectly. The lovely family that own this apartment were very friendly and helpful. I would strongly recommend this place as an alternative to a hotel.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car.

My 13 year old daughter and I spent this spring break in San Francisco and rented the studio. It was the perfect place for us. It was very clean and all of the amenities we needed were provided - including wifi which worked perfectly. The bus stop was a short walk away and the Golden Gate Park and its attractions were within walking distance. Browsing in the shops on Haight Street was fun and my daughter found her grade 8 graduation dress - the bonus being that she will remember her spring break adventure when she wears it.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.

My parents have stayed in this lovely studio apartment a number of times when they have visited my family in San Francisco. The room is perfect for their needs and the location is very central and provides easy access to the rest of the city. There are also multiple moderately priced and delicious restaurants in the immediate neighborhood. The owners of the apartment are very responsive and organized. Staying in this delightful, cozy studio will only enhance your visit to our dynamic city.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.

This condo is in a very central location, close to transportation and to the golden gate park....for runners. However, if you must have wifi or phone coverage, this is not the place for you. Me and my husband were completely isolated while staying there. The wifi didn't work and even if it worked the signal was very weak. Both our phones didn' t have coverage (Verizon an ATT). The carpet and rug need a good cleaning. The refrigerator is very noisy at times.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, tourists without a car.
Owner response: The studio is in an old Victorian house where cell phone reception is very low. Unfortuntaley we do not have control over this issue. We are working on improving the wifi reception. The carpets are beige and retain some discoloration, the carpets have been cleaned recently.

We loved it! Really spacious and well organized for a studio apartment - and beautifully appointed...from the inspirational media on the walls of the entry to the oh so comfortable and beautiful bed, the pull out mattress which the kids used and the tea making equipment which we all used! We also appreciated its excellent location - so close to the park, Haight Ashbury in general, other city venues that we enjoy accessing. We used to live just a block and a half away, so were able to visit some of our old haunts and see how the neighborhood has changed. And the Haight Street Fair was this weekend, so the kids had a great time checking out the sights... We won the studio as a part of an auction item at our kids school Thank you for making it available to San Carlos parents as a fundraiser for the San Carlos Education Foundation!Recommended for: Families with young children, tourists without a car.

First, I was pleased to discover that this little apartment is not one big room, but divided. The bed is enclosed by three walls and feels separate from the kitchen and dining areas. The place was very clean and well equipped. It was well-located too. We could walk 2 1/2 blocks to visit family, a couple of blocks to a great food market, a library, lots of restaurants, and catch a bus as well. The Golden Gate Park is within a couple blocks, except for the Panhandle which is steps away. We have stayed at a hotel before and like this much better (plus it was less expensive). You can cook your own meals, make a cup of tea anytime, and have coffee in your p.j.'s. There is no tv, but we had our laptop for watching dvd's etc, and were perfectly happy. Our little grandson came to play and enjoyed the back garden. This was a great exeperience, from my initial inquiries right until the end of our stay!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car.
