Shady Glen cottage: Located on Point Roberts WA. It shares it's location with the town of Tsawwassen BC, Canada. Point Roberts is an exclave of Washington State and is only accessible through Tawwassen, CA (30 minutes from Vancouver).
You can acquire a NEXUS pass by going to the NEXUS web site and making an application. This pass moves you through the border crossings quickly and efficiently.
The perfect location to enjoy relaxing around the house on this 5 square miles of serenity including beaches and forested areas.
Consider not just the Point and its beauty but where will you be sitting with the glass of wine as the grill sizzles. Vacations are not just about the great outings but the time spent at your lodging.
Our home has been described as having great energy. Its location allows for great star gazing as it is often very dark at night. Plus, during the day it is such a great home for sitting out and reading a book.
We have tried to create a home away from home experience and feel we offer a lovely place to stay.
Your biggest decision might be where to play golf. Point Roberts course or the Richmond/Vancouver/White Rock locations. The new Bear Mountain Golf Retreat just outside of Victoria is a must too!
Or enjoy the many great walks on Boundary Bay, Lighthouse Point or Lilly point. Point Roberts is a magical serene environment with many discoveries to be made and enjoyed in a day.
Bring another couple come and settle into our dual master suites for some relaxing at home movie nights and a great meal cooked in a fully equipped kitchen.
Go out for a day of fishing on a charter out of the Point Roberts Marina... come home to a meal you left cooking in your slow cooker and break open the vino!! The spacious eating area creates the feeling you could have 10 guests over for dinner!
If you prefer to eat out you could spend weeks trying the great variety and locations of local restaurants. You can try some great eats while you take your sight seeing outings to Vancouver and the fishing town of Steveston.
Vancouver hosts Stanley Park and many other tourist attractions, all just 30 minutes away. The large border crossing for Washington/Canada (Peace Arch) is only 20 minutes away. Seattle is about a 2 hour drive.
The big deal is that the BC Ferry system is only a 10 minute drive and you can ride to the Gulf Islands and the famous city of Victoria on Vancouver Island.
Point Roberts has an excellent marina as do the BC locations you could sail your own vessel to and spend time on the island of Vancouver and the many beautiful marinas.
Shady Glen Cottage is a beautiful restful home decorated in Pottery Barn type furniture/painted by a decorator so your time at home will be very peaceful and joyful. Come give us a try!!!

Why the Owner Chose Point Roberts
We chose Point Roberts for its proximity to Canada on a gorgeous 5 square land mass with it's beaches, pretty sunsets, State Parks like Lily Point for hiking and watching eagles and whales. We love the local color and the home sits so beautifully amongst the trees and nature. Mostly we wanted to be close to other property we own outside of Victoria, BC and of course the ferry is just 10 minutes away and the 2 hour ride to the island is so wonderful. We love the area and the people.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
The best part of our home is it is turn key ready. The house is stocked with everything and decorated to be a beautiful, restful home. We think of it as a home away from home for our guests. There are lovely brand new patios done with red brick pavers and lots of space to entertain. Both the dining area and kitchen are spacious. It is remarkable the positive energy of the home. We are not at the noisy hub of folks who gather at the beach but just a short drive and we too can participate in all the activities. It is the best of all worlds. The serene and the beach..plus 2 vacations in one: Canada and Washington all just minutes apart.
