We stayed at the Bleecker St. apt for two nights Feb 10 and 11, 2012. Owner was great to deal with, met us at the unit on time and answered any questions and offered suggestions as to where to eat, etc. Place was as described, in the heart of the Village at a very central location. Transaction handled with no problems. Security deposit quickly refunded via PayPal. Pros: Easy access to interesting sights, restaurants, clubs, shopping, subway, etc. Very comfortable sofa and bed. Reasonably well cleaned and very neat. Plenty of heat during our winter's stay. Very secure with doorman entry. On first floor of building with many units. Wine bottle as welcome gift. Microwave and toaster oven, coffee maker. Cons: In the heart of the village, so somewhat noisy at night. Club underneath and street noise til 2-3am. NYU is very close so lots of students. Hot water in shower was iffy in the morning. It finally came after 15 minutes of waiting. Stove has no oven and controls were funky but it did work. If you want to be in the heart of things, this is a great spot. If having a quiet getaway is more important, there are better places.

We cant say enough good things about this apartment rental. The owners were incredibly efficient and helpful. We never had to worry about arrangements and were made to feel thoroughly at home with all the info we might need provided without asking. The apartment location was fantastic and much better than any hotel in the same price range. Close to transport and in the heart of a buzzing area with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops on our doorstep. We would certainly return here in the future

We had a fab time. The flat had everything we needed. The doormen were very helpful as was Christina. The place was brillianlty located with a number of good subways close by. Definately a great place to stay. We were a family of 3 and the flat will be fine for 2 couples or for a couple with 2 kids who are willing to share afold oyt bed in the living dining room.

This apartment was in the heart of the action and close to public transport. If you're interested bars and music perfect local. Nice not to be in Times Square but easy to get there too! You have everything in your apartment that you need. I would completely recommend this property.

The apartment was clean, quiet and walking distance to most everywhere we wanted to go. Luka met us exactly on time and made the transactions effortless (as opposed to a friend that went through VBRO and was contacted the day before she left that her place was 'double booked"...made me appreciate this place even more!) With a grocery store a block away and loads of great restaurants nearby (as well as the subway and cabs), everything was super easy.

I would stay here again and suggest it to others. Several family and friends aslo rented in nearby areas, I can say some were not happy,their units were not as shown in the pictures or as described. This was our second stay at this apartment. We love the location because it is so convenient to ALL the subways (both east side and west side) and many bus lines. There are many many wonderful restaurants within walking distance; in the Village, in Soho, Tribeca, Little Italy, Washington Square, Union Square, etc. The apartment is very well equipped, the bed is comfortable. There is a grocery store and a liquor store a block away and on the first floor of the building a CVS drug store. We are a couple in our mid sixties and we love the "energy" of the neighborhood. It is right next to the NYU campus so there are young people around all the time which made us feel very safe. We stayed in the apartment for two weeks this time (and last time) and went sightseeing all over Manhattan and the surrounding areas. Christina is delightful and was very attentive to all our needs before and during our stay. We are already trying to decide when to get another New York City fix and OF COURSE we will stay at this apartment!

This apartment is everything that it promised. Great location, comfortable, clean and homely with all the little extras that make it welcoming. A bottle of Australian wine on the kitchen bench says it all! Christina was extremely helpful before, during and after our stay with prompt answers to any of our questions which made it even more special. Would highly recommend the risotto/ pizza restaurant in Bleecker St a few blocks west of 6th Avenue.

The stay we had at this appartment in August/September 2011 went very well despite of the fact that Hurricane Irene just hit New York when we came in! Luka greeted us and showed us around. The description and the pictures of the appartment is totally accurate and we did not get any (bad) surprise. The condo where the appartment was located is very safe (you can even do your laundry in the building, which is quite convenient!) and the neighborhood cannot be better with all the attractions around. We would surely recommend this appartment to stay in the heart of the City who never sleeps.

very nice and comfortable appartment. We loved how we could emerge in city live to the fullest. Sitting in the windowseal and watching the street live is very nice, if you are home for a moment because there is so much to do right outside. The restaurants and little vintage shops in the streets are great. Washington park is right around the corner, never a dull moment. The bed was good, shower was good and you have way more space and privacy as in a hotel. Questions and concerns were answered very fast and the deposit was back on PayPal the same day we left. Around the corner from NYU which is a great advantage if you want to visit your child/student over there.I would defenitely go back or recomend this to others!

Our trip was an 18th birthday present to my son. He, his friend, my sister and I really enjoyed our stay at this apartment. Christine and Luka were very nice and responded quickly. The apartment looked exactly like the photos and was very clean and comfortable. Luka met us at the apartment and was informative and offered good advice. The location was great, convenient to taxis, subway and pharmacy close by for last minute needs, snacks etc. I felt very safe in the area and enjoyed TreGiavonis Italian restaurant nearby - great pizza and pasta. I would definately recommend this apartment to others, as it is a great location. Thank you for the nice bottle of wine, we enjoyed it the night we arrived and toasted to a great time in NYC!

Drove from Ottawa with family of 4. The place is just like the pictures! Very clean with comfortable beds. Thank God for the air conditioning! Quite street and felt safe. Pharmacy just beside was very useful. Luca the owner very very helpful! We found overnight parking just on Thompson street 1/2 block from the appart if needed or you can park on the street on certain days for free. We would definitively recommend to a friend!

this apartment is in the heart of the East Village, a great location to experience the area. the security at the door is great, even with the heat and humidity of the city once we got "home" the air conditioning was working and the apartment was nice and cool, the cable had plenty of channels, the kitchen functioned well and the bed was as comfortable as ours at home . . . and the bathroom and shower were great. and the internet connection was acceptable. we'll be back.

Voici une merveilleuse adresse où s'installer pour un séjour à New York. Nous y avons passé sept jours et nous avons vraiment adoré. C'est un appartement plein de charme, confortable, propre, fonctionnel où il fait bon se retrouver après des journées de visite pour relaxer. De plus, il y a tout ce qu'il faut pour cuisiner si le coeur nous en dit. On s'y sent vraiment comme chez soi. Il est situé dans un quartier vivant et animé ( un peu bruyant parfois ), avec restos, cafés, boutiques de toutes sortes, épiceries, etc, et tout près du magnifique parc Washington Square. Luka, le propriétaire, nous a accueillis très chaleureusement et avec beaucoup de gentillesse. Il s'est montré très serviable et disponible pour nous apporter son aide et répondre à nos questions, au besoin, tout au cours de notre séjour. Voilà qui est rassurant et très apprécié pour des voyageurs. Nous avons même eu droit à un cadeau de bienvenue : une bouteille de vin. Une belle et délicate attention. Nous recommandons vivement cet appartement pour vos prochaines vacances à New York. Après y avoir séjourné, vous aurez certainement envie, tout come nous, d'y retourner à nouveau.

We really enjoyed our stay at this apartment, it was by far the highlight of our US trip. A fantastic location close to the subway, and a great neighbourhood to explore. The people watching from the window seat was phenomenal, and we ended up visiting all the pubs and restaurants we could see from the window. Checkin and checkout was so easy too, and the bottle of red was a lovely touch. We're recommending this place to everyone we know contemplating a trip to New York, and if we ever come back, we're coming back here. Thanks again!

Our family of 4 was very happy here for our four night stay in NYC. My wife was very pleased with the accommodations, (think princess and the pea), and the two teenage boys got along famously. The Red Lion Bar accross the street was lively untill 0330 sunday am, but the noise reducing windows do a pretty good job. There was a dog fight across the street one evening before dinner and we didn't hear it untill we turned off the TV. Good access to subway D F M west 4th and taxis frequent the area. See "Play Dead" at the Players theatre three blocks away.

We loved staying in Luka and Christina's apartment! They were so accommodating and friendly. We prefer the village to any other location in the city, and this apartment is located exactly where you want to be... right on Bleecker St! We only had to take one taxi the whole weekend. The rest of the weekend we were able to walk everywhere that we wanted to go! The apartment is just what we needed, clean and comfortable. The only disadvantage of the apartment was that we were traveling with our 3 year old son (who is used to sleeping in a dark bedroom at home) and the curtains on the bedroom window did not offer much light blockage in the morning, so he woke up around 6am to a light room and assumed it was time to get up everyday :) Other than that, we were very happy with our accommodations and would love to stay at the apartment again. Our stay at Luka & Christina's apartment was fantastic. Greenwich Village is a really great location for a visit to Manhattan. The apartment is very comfortable and in a very safe building right in the middle of lots of great shops, restaurants and bars. My husband, friend, and I stayed here for 3 nights. We had such a wonderful time! The bed in the bedroom is comfortable, and my friend reported that the pull-out bed was comfortable, too. We loved the location. Also, the apartment is a really great size. We also enjoyed spending time there, watching football and hanging out with friends who live in the area. We really felt like we lived there. The only problem we had was the shower not being consistently hot enough. I texted Luka, and he gave a suggestion to fix the problem, which helped. (He said it is sometimes a problem in the building.) Other than this small issue, everything was perfect! I would definitely recommend this apartment!

Our trip to the Big Apple was made even more perfect by our stay here. The apartment was a short walk to the subway, bus line, and cabs were easy to get. The neighborhood is safe, fun, and full of places to eat and shop. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend the apartment. The owners were patient with my questions and very attentive to getting us settled.Our flight arrived close to midnight and yet the owner greeted us at the door, well after midnight. This was our second stay in Luka's and Christina's apartment, and we will definitely return: the location is GREAT - dozens of cute restaurants, bars and coffee shops, 5 minutes walk to Soho with great shopping opportunities. There's a bus around the corner which takes you all around the city, and there's a subway close by, too. The apartment is spacious, cozy and cute.

My husband and I stayed at this apartment for 6 nights and totally enjoyed ourselves. To be greeted by Luka with a bottle of red after a late arrival was brilliant. The apartment is well maintained and has everything you need for a longer stay, including a super comfortable bed, great shower and plenty of cooking utensils. The location cannot be beaten. To stay here really makes you feel like you are a local, as there are no hotels nearby which means few tourists. There are a tonne of good restaurants nearby, and it is a short walk to the Meatpacking District (including the magnolia bakery!) SoHo and Chelsea. I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment.

My husband, daughter and I had a wonderful time in the partment. The amenities were wonderful both in the unit and in the area. The beds were comfortable and the owners provide lots of towels and blankets and bedding. The kitchen was also well stocked with dishes and cookware. If you get a chance to go to Cuba, which is a restaraunt just around th corner, DO IT! One of the best evenings we had in New York and it was only steps away. Washington Square was also wonderful and worth spending some time in.

Four 62+ travelers enjoyed three days in this super convenient and roomy by New York Standards West Village apartment on Bleecker. We were welcomed with a bottle of red wine and a lovely clean place to stay for our NYC visit. A guest book offered dining ideas and experiences of former guests. We took a food tour of the Central Village and North SoHo by Zerve and it featured many great places to dine in the area. In fact our guide even talked about the historical importance of the building. Subway and bus are easy to access, a great little deli is two doors away and a wonderful fresh market is within a half block. We arrived early and were given our keys and able to get on with our day. Christina called the following day to check if there was anything that we needed. We are happy to recommend this wonderful spot--even the sofa bed was comfortable!!!

This is our second stay at this wonderful location. If you love the city and especially the Village this is an ideal location. There are more restaurants then you can possibly imagine within several blocks and of course you are only two blocks south of Washington Square and one block north of SoHo. The apartment is well furnished and is perfect for our needs. We will be back!

If you want to stay in the heart of the West Village, this apartment is perfect! There are a ton of famous bars, clubs and restaurants! The apartment looks just like the photos and the host is very nice and helpful. We had a great time! The cons are... it is a very lively (i.e. noisy) area so be prepared for a little noise in the middle of the night. And it is a typical NYC apartment which means... cockroaches! There are quite a bit of little suckers that come out at night. I think the price should be lower since you have to share the place with the roaches. So, if you're going to sleep on the sofa, be prepared for a creepy crawly or 2. Also, some hitched a ride via our suitcases and tried to move in with us back home in LA! Other than that, the air con works great and the bed is nice a firm. It's a great location so enjoy!!!

Owner response:Hello Guests! We pride ourselves in not editing reviews or only keeping the "good" ones. As much as we wanted to delete this one :-) we are grateful for it because we too would not want to share our space with any little creatures, ESPECIALLY roaches! And in fact, NYC or not, we find it unacceptable. A few months ago we noticed a roach or two for the FIRST time in 15 years! We asked the exterminator to come right away. Our opinion... he is paid to do very little but squirt here and there. We started to see more of them, so we took matters into our own hands. We have, since this review, "fogged" the apartment 3 times and used what was highly recommended, good old-fashioned Boric Acid. Although in cleaning, we might see one small dead roach we feel that we have addressed the issue and will continue to fog regularly. We have not had any further complaints and always ask our guests about their stay. Our sincere apologies to the above guests and thank you for this review which would be enough for us not to consider staying in our own place! We also want to express our eternal gratitude for all the amazing guests we have had from all over the world! We have been blessed with attracting quality folks... Happy Travels!

We just returned from a week long vacation in NYC, with our two teenage kids, and found this apartment to be everything and more than this listing describes. The apartment is clean, well maintained and in a great neighborhood! We had everything we needed and felt like we were at home. Luka and Christina were very accomodating, wonderful hosts. We discovered some awesome restaurants in the area. Two of our favorites were Cafe Reggio, a great place for coffee in the morning, with a nice outside seating area, and La Lanterna, which is an awesome Italian place for dinner, with an enclosed garden seating area in the back. This apartment is close to shopping, subways, restaurants and bars. If we return to New York, we will definitely stay at this apartment again!

Spent a week at this lovely apartment in the heart of the Village. Christina and Luka were very attentive hosts, and we thoroughly enjoyed the ambience and character of the neighborhood, with all the neat little ethnic restaurants, and shops nearby. Two good Italian Restaurants, are Lupa, which is reputed to be owned by Lidia Bastianich and Mario Batali, and Porto Bello, whose Lasagna is to die for. Going downtown was easy with several subway stations, and express bus routes. If this wasn't previously on our Bucket List, it would be now, and if you are fortunate, Luka is a very skilled Massage Therapist, my partner Barb can attest to that. Were we to return to NYC, and we hope to, sooner rather than later, this is where we would definitely hang out at.

My 3 girlfriends and I arrived earlier than we expected into NYC, and Christina was so lovely and accomadating - she rushed over early to meet us. We were so grateful to her for going above and beyond for us. The apartment is comfortable and roomy, but honestly the location was probably our favorite thing about it! We were an easy walk from 2 different subway stops - which encompassed several different lines - so it seemed like we covered all of Manhattan with such ease. Greenwich was buzzing with activity,and we never once felt unsafe walking all over the neighborhood. The four of us all agreed we were so much happier than if we had stayed in a hotel! We just returned from a few days at this lovely flat. You couldn't ask for a more convenient location, with shops, restaurants, clubs, subway, etc. all just a few steps away. The flat was perfect for my husband and me, with everything we needed. The bed is extremely comfortable, with lovely soft cotton sheets. We felt very much at home here, and Luka and Christina are very considerate hosts.

We had a great time staying at your apartment in the middle of Greenwich Village. If we ever decide to live in NY, the Village is where we want to be! We liked looking out the window while having our morning coffee to see what everyone's wearing before we went out for our daily adventures. The apartment was clean, shower was strong, the bed and cotton beddings were comfortable, it was warm and cozy on those cold nights.I liked having the doorman downstairs too. We appreciate your meeting us and accommodating our schedule. Paul and I plan to stay there again, many many thanks!

I had a wonderful stay in this apartment before Christmas '09. It's exactly as it looks in the photos and is in the centre of everything cool about New York. Christina was really helpful and was available if I needed help. I would definitely like to come back. It's away from the hustle and bustle of 5th Ave, etc but you can get everywhere quickly on the subway. Highly recommended and it definitely beats spending loads on hotels!

My husband, two 20-year old daughters, and I just got back from 3 days in NYC and stayed at this wonderful Greenwich Village apt. The apt. easily accommodated 4 people, as the bed and sleep couch were both large and comfortable. There were ample linens and the apt. was immaculate. The owners are there to greet you, show you around the apt. and answer any questions. It was very nice knowing they were only a phone call away, if we had needed anything. The building itself is charming, very safe, and is within walking distance to everything you'd want to see in lower Manhattan. (And just a 6-7 dollar cab ride from Times Square, traffic permitting).

In October recently, my wife, Margaret, and I stayed for a week at the Bleecker St (New York City) apartment let by Christina and Luka Johnson. It was all a lovely experience. The apartment is in the heart of the Village area of Manhattan, close enough to more than one Subway station, with a large selection of excellent restaurants nearby, especially close to the intersection with Thompson St.. The apartment itself was extremely comfortable, especially the double bed (of prime importance!) and the lounge seating. The kitchen is more than adequate, although we tended to eat out locally for dinner and at galleries and museums for lunch. So much to do in NYC!Marg and I would unreservedly recommend the Johnsons’ apartment and their attitude to business — no quibbling about deposit refunding, for instance! We had a great time in NYC, and appreciated having somewhere so easy to stay.Ian Nowak, Perth, Western Australia.

My friend and I rented this condo for the first week of November and had a lvely time. the owner was very accomodating--letting us arrive at 9 am and greeting us with a nice bottle of red wine and water. All the appliances worked fine and the unit was very clean, comfortable and quiet. We would absolutely stay here again . I have rented many apts in NY and this is by far the nicest and most comfortable.We even had long distance phone calls! Needless to say, the area is wonderful--shops, retaurnats, bars and entertainment at your doorstep! We will definitely be back again--I wish it were NOW!!! Michele Miola

Together with my wife and three little girls (8,5,2) we stayed in this apartment for 5 nights during Nov 2009. Everything was PERFECT and I'm so glad we opted for an apartment instead of a hotel. Especially this apartment. The location is amazing and you've got everything you need just a few steps away. You really feel like you're living (not just a tourist) in the heart of the Village. The apartment is on the second floor with a 24-hour security guard and those are another two big pluses. It's spotless, has all the amenities you need, and had ample room for us all (even if I was just with my wife it would also be perfect). The owner, Christina, was so accommodating from the very first inquiry I sent her all the way until the end of our stay. Very professional. I already know where we're staying next time we're in NYC :-)

With delay, i would like to thank C & L for their welcome. Honest owners and very nice people. The flat is clean, charming, comfortable and in a perfect location. We stayed in the apartment for two weeks and had a ball! We are a couple in our early sixties and felt very safe walking back to the apartment after dinner every night because there are always many young people on the street as the NYU campus is nearby. We traveled all over the city by subway and bus and they were within a few blocks. There are hundreds of fun restaurants within walking distance. The apartment is on the second floor and is very comfortable and cheerful. We especially appreciated the sound machine. There is a drugstore right below the apartment and a liquor store and grocery store a block away;absolutely convenient. We will definitely return!

My sisters ans I stayed in the Bleeker St apartment Sept 09 and would highly recommend it. Not only is it a lovely clean place it's in a fantastic location, everything at your doorstep; cafes & bars - nearest subway 5 mins walk. It was pure luck that we got a glimpse of the Sex in the City girls - a scene from the 2nd film was being shot in Soho, couple blocks away, then on the same day Obama happened to be having lunch in our neighbour, and then drove straight past us. Surely this doesn't happen often? our luck i guess. The owners also went over and above the call of duty to assist us with a personal matter which was much appreciated. We had a fantastic trip overall and look forward to getting back to the Big Apple again. Thanks Christina and Luka
