This handsome house and carriage house apartment sit on 6 beautiful acres. Groomed walking paths meander through woods and meadow. There is a large expanse of lush lawn and gardens and a wonderful old stone foundation / outdoor room.
The house, completed in 2004 is detailed with a mix of pine, sheet rock and timber. The custom kitchen/hearth-room has a Wolf commercial range, lots of cooking tools and toys, gas/stone fireplace, beautiful windows, large dinning room and screened porch.
The hallway walled with books leads to the three bedrooms and 2 baths. The master has a queen bed, bedroom 2 has a double bed and bedroom three has 2 twin beds. Bedding is 450 and 500 count Egyptian cotton sheeting and organic cotton or down blankets. The lower level entertainment room, mudroom, bath and laundry are rich in slate and pine and walk out to a woodland garden seating area with fire pit. The lower level also leads to the 2 stall garage. The house can be rented alone or with the carriage house.
The carriage house is charming with high slanted pine ceilings and cozy dormered windows. It has one large bedroom with a queen timber bed, bathroom and a living room with gas fireplace, a convertible sofa bed and kitchenette. There is garage parking for one vehicle under the carriage house.
The very private swimming beach with boat/beach house and 40 ft. dock is about 200 ft from the back door. Smith Lake is 323 acres with a maximum depth of 31 ft. and specializes in blue gill crappie, northern pike, large mouth bass and walleye. Smith Lake is a great lake for tubing and water skiing. There is a canoe and a row boat to enjoy free of charge.
The boat house is finished and furnished for a day at the lake with double screened doors, allowing shelter and a place for snacks and toys. A boat landing/launch site is about a half mile down the road.
AND what we think makes this property so unique and so appealing for the family that wants elbow room and room to roam, is that you can leave the lake, walk just across the lightly traveled road through the Norway pines and timber steps and return to the private and spacious grounds and house to enjoy a whole different world. And Hayward, with it's World Class events, wireless inter-net cafes, shopping, groceries, golfing, boat and bike rentals, bakery, wine cellars, art galleries, live theater, library etc. is only 5 minutes away.
