Resting in the center of 1600 pristine acres of oak forest and grasslands, the residence at Zaca Creek Ranch is luxurious without losing its cowboy charm. With open beam ceilings and hardwood floors throughout, the living quarters rest atop a traditional "A frame" cedar barn. Each room commands a different view of the Ranch and the hills which support our resident herd of Black Angus cattle. The ground level of the barn has long since been converted to wide open space for entertaining on a large scale - from elegant sit-down dinners to western style "ho-downs."
The "barn residence" rests within a three acre entertainment area including outdoor barbeque facilities, picnic tables, and a redwood deck overlooking grassy pastures and oak canopied canyons. This area is entirely enclosed by fencing which, while not obstructing the views, does manage to keep the cattle off of the lawn and out of your picnic! You'll share a fence line with "Dakota" and "Brazil," our resident llamas, and with a flock of hens who dutifully provide fresh ranch eggs each morning, available at your discretion.
Whether strolling the grounds or enjoying a glass of local wine on one of the second floor decks, every view is of undeveloped land, a window on "Old California" as it appeared when the Spanish first laid eyes upon it. But for the Santa Inez and Figueroa mountain ranges in the distance, everything you see is on the ranch, insuring absolute serenity and privacy.
