We rented this home for a vacation with our 3 children (ages 15months, 3 1/2, and 6) and 2 small dogs, and it was perfect!! The decor was colorful and cute, and it felt like home. This is the sunniest house I've ever been in! It rained most the time we were there, but the cozy fire, games, books, and toys kept us all happy and busy. The children loved the "bug room" and the little tea table, and having a bath tub was a bonus. I would recommend this house to anyone with children and/or pets. We also rented the Saltbox house for our in-laws and they LOVED it!!! One note is that the stairs are not baby friendly. The Cottage house would be a better fit for little ones who are still learning to walk. All-in-all, a lovely house, that was clean, comfortable, and welcoming! Thanks Chris:)

Our stay in Bandon was wonderful but the house just wasn't what it could have been. The cottage could be very cute and comfortable if more attention was paid to little details. First, there was no porch light and coming back after dark was kind of spooky. The top step going into the front was very unsafe. I just about fell out of the door. The outside needs quite a bit of maintenance. The television was TERRIBLE, luckily there were plenty of books and magazines to entertain us during the rainy times. The house was clean and the beds were comfortable..

We absolutely loved our stay here - as did our dog! The fenced in yard was perfect. The Cottage was much larger than we had anticpated based on the pictures - it had all the amenities one could ask for. It was warm, peaceful, and inviting. A short trip into town for groceries and we were all set! We're already planning to stay here again next year! The Cottage is truly a gem!

My family and I had a great time at the cottage. Very clean inside and so charming. Super close to EVERYTHING and it was nice to have a private place to go home to after sight-seeing within the local cities. Cute area inside for kids (even though we didn't have any - - made me wish I was a kid again). Super quiet and relaxing. It was also nice to have a fenced yard for our dog, but the exterior of this rental and the surrounding grounds could definitely use some much needed maintenance. The interior is way better than the exterior!

Our 4 night experience in Chris' little cottage was great! Everything was just as described in Chris' listing. My husband and I, along with our son (20), grandson (8) and daughter (15) had a great time relaxing and getting ready for my brother's wedding. When our oldest daughter, her husband and two children (ages 5 & 8) joined us for two nights, it was still comfy (crowded, but comfy!)...we enjoyed Chris' well-equipped kitchen, esp the pancake griddle! The men would have liked to have Wi-Fi available to do their net-surf thing, but other than that, no complaints. I had plenty of room to work on the alterations on the wedding gown w/o getting in anyone's way. And the drive into town is not long at all...having the grocery store so close was a nice bonus. If we have an opportunity to come up this way again, we'll definately be checking out the availability of the cottage!

Our second stay here............as wonderful as the first time! This is the best place for comfort and relaxation. The beds are so comfy with electric blankets and extra pillows. The kitchen is fully equipped. Just bring your own food and you've got everything you could want. We're looking forward to our third time already. Thanks, Chris for a great vacation.

We loved it here. It has everything you could possibly want for comfort and relaxation. Private, quiet, clean and the boat dock is conveniently close. The wood stove made the chilly evenings quite warm and cozy. We're looking forward to our next stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay late Sept. Very dog friendly with a great safe yard for them to wander. The house is small but well equipped. A very quiet location away from town; a short drive of ten minutes gets you there. The wood stove makes the house very warm & comfy! Great set up for young children!!,

The listing does not do this adorable cottage justice. The location is fabulous! Being just that tiny distance from the town and the beach, you avoid the wind and fog, but are close enough to run into town for a quart of clam chowder. You are a very short walk from the river, and far enough down a very green driveway for privacy. The house is three bedroom, with a queen, a double, and two twins. There are two bathrooms, one with a tub. The entire house is fenced all the way around, so dogs and children can wander but not get lost. We have camped, stayed at hotels, and rented homes right on the beach: This is the most comfortable home we have rented! The owner doesn't mind 'leaky' kids or pets, and there is a washer/dryer to immediately deal with any messes. We will definitely be returning, and will share this find with friends and family.

We had a great stay at this cottage...wish it could have been longer! It was well stocked with all of the comforts of home, and gave us a peaceful few days on the Oregon coast! Chris has done a wonderful job of making an affordable "home-away-from-home" on the Oregon coast. Bandon is a quaint little town and we plan to be back for a longer stay in the future!

This was a great cozy weekend for our family. The welcome and hospitality were a great surprise! We don't travel often (we have 5 children under 10) because of the amount of work involved. Staying at Alexander's River Cottage kept the amount of work to a minimum. The toys, movies, and books were a great way to help the kids keep busy but also feel comfortable! Thank you for the affordable cozy retreat. We will be back if you'll have us!

We LOVED our time at the cottage. It was peaceful and had everything we needed to facilitate traveling with a preschooler and an infant. Comfortable and stylish for adults, too!

My husband, my brother and I enjoyed two nights at this charming cottage. Nice separation of space with one bedroom and bath at one end of the house so my brother had some privacy as did we. I absolutely loved how quiet this location is. We will be back. Thanks, Chris!

we enjoyed the three C's during our stay at the cottage. 1(extremely) clean, 2(very) comfortable and 3(thoughtfully) charming. The cottage was outfitted great, from the kitchen, to the great towels and the wood supplied for the stove. A super experience for us and our dog, zephyr, she felt like the queen. Stay here if you can. The only problem was that our stay was not long enough.

Thanks for the perfect accomodations for me and my golfin' buddies. It was so much more fun to stay here than in a cold, sterile motel! You have done a masterful job of providing a warm, welcoming place for your guests.
