My wife, Susi, and I offer what we consider to be an excellent vacation home. We just completed interior painting of the house in October 2006. Our Non-Smoking rental home lies directly on a small lake in the southeastern corner of Melbourne. While not directly on the beach, we are but a ten minute drive from Indialantic Beach. We offer a very large unheated communal swimming pool that has showers, separate dressing/toilet rooms, ample tables, chairs, and picnic tables. There is also a double tennis court.
The lake has been stocked with perch, cat fish, and bass. While boating with non-motorized boats is allowed, we do not provide such. There is a tremendous amount of wildlife around the lake: ducks, egrets, blue and white heron, king fishers, mourning doves, cardinals, mocking birds, blue jay, and bob white quail just to mention the most frequent visitors. Guests may fish the lake but we ask that they throw the fish back. You will have to provide your own fishing gear.
Respecting family activities, we have stocked numerous card games, board games, puzzles, etc. We also maintain numerous brochures of activities which are available throughout our area. If you like to read, we also maintain a small library of paperback books and magazines.
Each of our three bedrooms has a queen-size bed. We do not have sleeping accommodations for infant children but we do have a roll-away bed and a queen size bed couch. There is also a child's playpen available. Everything is relatively new in the home. New rugs throughout the upstairs and tile downstairs. There are two TVs, a VCR downstairs, two DVD players, a Radio with CD and Audio Tape players. Children's video tapes are available downstairs and mature themes are found upstairs. Our single car garage is equipped with an automatic door opener and there are outside security lights in front of as well as behind the house.
ADDITIONAL RENTAL INFORMATION:
* Beginning 1 January 2009, add 11% tax (6% usage tax; 5% county resort tax)
* There is a $300 security deposit required at least two weeks before your arrival. We will naturally return that money to you if nothing is broken, missing, or in need of repair.
* In the interest of all of our guests, smoking is allowed on the screened porch and outside only. Pets are not allowed.

- Air Conditioning : This includes ceiling fans in all rooms except bathrooms
- Linens Provided : Bed sheets, pillows, pillow cases, bath and kitchen towels are provided. Addionally, we provide shampoos, bath and body soaps.
- Washer : Washer/dryer set located in the garage purchased in 2006. Please note we do not supply detergents nor beaches.

- Gas/Electric BBQ Grill : An electric grill is provided on the lanai (Floridian for patio!)
- Deck/Patio : Sometimes called a lanai or Florida room, this room includes one wall that is screened to keep you and the mosquitos separated. Here people enjoy their morning coffee, read the paper, eat their meals or gather for socials. Our Florida room includes a Bar with two stools, bartender's chair, bar, a hexagon pvc pipe table set to include four upholstered chairs. There's also a Parisian cafe corner to include to chairs and a marble topped round table. We think you're going to enjoy this room with it's view of the shaded back yard and our attractive lake.
- Balcony : A small balcony adjoins the master bedroom and overlooks the lake setting.
- Lanai : Our Lanai, often called a Florida room, is furnished with two tables, (four chairs at on; two at the other), a bar with a bar tender's chair and two customer chairs.
- Gazebo : There is a gazebo located next to our communal swimming pool. It's located over a neighboring small lake.
- View/Location
- Lakefront : Our property is located directly on a small lake that is frequented by a variety of water and other foul not to mention numerous fish and a couple of varieties of turtles. There is a bench on the shore of the lake for you to enjoy the view.

October 10-14, 2007 Dear Bob and Susi, Our group enjoyed our stay at your comfortable vacation home so very much! What a joy to come home from our daily and nightly meetings to an environment of "peace and quiet"! You both were so gracious to greet us when we arrived and you made us feel welcomed and right at home. We have rented many homes in the past in many places, but no one has ever done that for us! Everything in the house was just perfect for us! It is equipped with everything you need and want! (What a movie/music collection!!) Seeing the ducks on the lake in the morning and hearing them "quack" was a special treat. My family and I enjoyed our stay in this home. The owners were friendly and very welcoming. They were very quick to resolve any issue that arouse. When i say that I dont mean that there were alot of issues but we did have a few minor mishaps. They were more than willing to help us and correct the problems in a timely mannor. The house is beautiful and full of color! The owners have provided everything you would need to feel right at home. We had a nice time on our vacation and I would venture to say that you would too. Watch out for the lizards! They are everywhere in Florida! The only thing i would advise is for parents with young children. This home can work as a baby friendly home, if you put the non-touchables away before you start to relax. It worked out for us, just a minor inconvenience of having to put things out of reach and then put them back once we were cleaning up to leave. The owners were more than accommodating with a baby gate and a play pen.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful time in Melbourne. The house is well-equipped and had an exemplary maintenance. The pool was just outside the street and we had it completely for our family. The house is spacious and excellent for up to six people. Owners live in the street and are very friendly. We had some questions about the 'turtle-seeing' and the owner directly called his network to answer the question. *****-rating! Very recommendable if you plan to stay in Melbourne.

Bob & Susi, We had a great time staying here and regret it was only for the weekend. Bareth (4) and Derek (1) both loved playing at the beach and then coming "home" to nap in their own rooms. Sarah (my sister) and I enjoyed coffee in the mornings while Fred enjoyed sleeping in. All 3 adults liked the ability to stay up and watch TV and talk after the kids went to sleep. Great grandma Brown (92 years old) had a great time visiting with all of us without our being in her small house. Thank you so much for your hospitality...We loved your home. Dear Bob & Susi, This was truly the best vacation experience we have ever had. It was so relaxing because you both have considered every aspect of comfort and convenience. Liebe Susi, Lieber Bob, Vor zwei Jahren, beschlossen vier Freunde aus der aelteste Stadt Deutschlands - Trier - Wilma, Norbert sowie Hanni und Joachim, ihren Urlaub in warmen Florida zu verbringen. Nach einer erlebnisreichen Rundfahrt von Miami ueber Key West, Everglades, Fort Myers und St. Petersburg/Tampa, landeten wir in Melbourne wo wir uns in eurem herzlichen, komfortablen Ferienhaus einnisteten. Die offene Freundlichkeit von euch beiden lieben Freunden, die wir aus frueheren Zeiten in Deutschland und von mehreren Besuchen hier in den USA her kennen -- "und die Naeche zum Atlantik-Strand" -- liess aus einen ruhigen, mit viel Spass und Unterhaltungsverbundenen, erholsamen Urlaub verbringen. Es fehlte uns an nichts und all Sonderwuensche wurden umgehend erfuellt. Bob & Susi, Yes --- year #3 for us. We have been here enjoying the sun and warm weather now for almost two weeks. What a joy! It has been in the single figures & lots of snow during this time back home in Ohio. Boy! We did good this year when we picked these two weeks! Dear Bob & Susi, Well, its time to say good-bye but just had to tell you thanks for putting all your special touches in this townhouse to make your guests feel at home. After traveling all day, it was such a good warm feeling to walk into your townhouse & feel so welcome. This world needs more people like yourselves --- wonderful & etc -- also the directions to the townhouse were superb --- I didn't get lost not one time! Yeah! (but I wasn't driving, but I was the director). I have one complaint --- the snakes (ceramic garden figures) have got to go --- they look too real!
