The White Wolf Haus was the perfect place for our ski trip. The home was just as described, clean and well maintained. It will be our first choice for our next trip to Silverton. Thanks!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Had a great weekend at the White Wolf Haus with friends. Place sleeps everyone comfortably and having one bathroom was not a concern at all (even for 8 people). Cozy living room is great for games, watching football, etc. Walking distance to everything in town and a short drive to great ski touring and the mountain. Overall a 10 of 10 on lodging experience.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

White Wolf is a great house in Silverton to rent. It has everything you would want including a fabulous bathtub for end of the day tired bodies! The space is great - location is wonderful - it is nice to have internet, cable TV, and a wood stove that really heats the entire house. It does get a wee bit cold during the night downstairs, but baseboard heat can help out with this. We would have liked a second bathroom, but we managed. It worked. Would highly recommend to others to rent for any season of the year. If you are in Silverton for snow skiing, it is in a great location for Kendall Mountain - you can walk there - we did!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for the great review and I'm glad that you enjoyed yourselves. The downstairs bedroom does get cold at night when the heat is not used. I am going to replace the baseboard heater with a more efficient and better heater.

I went to Silverton with my family and dog!! Silverton is very family friendly, there lots of places to shop! I would recomend GRUMPYS as a place to eat. They have subs and verry good soups!! In the winter time they offer aski mountain ans an Ice skating ring! I would not recomend this to people that are scared of hights or of people that are on oxygen!! to get to Silverton you have to go on a side of a moutain or a tourist train! I in the winter time it gets under negitive so bring something warm! silverton is verry beautiful if you ask how much go to find out!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This apparently modestly sized house has tons of room. Nice furniture, appliances and kitchen ware. We appreciated the care that the owners obviously took in the design and appointment of the home. We would recommend this rental without hesitation. Thank you.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Best Vacation Ever! We stayed at Wolf Haus with our two dogs; the house had everything we needed. The kitchen was the best stocked kitchen we have ever had in a vacation rental. Great location, centrally located and amazing views. Thank you so much for allowing pets in your lovely home. Silverton Colorado is one of the most beautiful places in the US; highly recommended for everyone except for individuals who may be prone to oxygen deprivation.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We rented White Wolf Haus for a week and could not have been more satisfied. We met Andrew, the owner, upon arrival. He was a nice guy and was finishing up installing a new dishwasher. The house was comfortable and was in an excellent location, less than a block off of the main street (Greene). There was a huge tub and a separate shower. There was plenty of hot water with an on demand hot water heater. Also in the house is a front loading washer and a front loading dryer. Oh, the house is also pet friendly. We had a blast exploring the mountains from White Wolf Haus.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, families with teenagers.

We had an amazing stay at the White Wolf Haus. There were eight of us, and everyone had their own bed (including one guy in the memory foam window). The speaker system was great for rockin tunes and watching movies. We cooked up some great meals in the spacious kitchen. Also, it's extremely close to the bars and restaurants in town. Absolutely zero complaints about it.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

Hi Andrew. Just wanted to let you know that your house was terrific and we had a great time skiing last weekend. I am letting my friends know that this is the place to stay if they are heading to Silverton, especially with a few others. Some of our group ended up at the Triangle, which was nice enough, but I felt sorry for them in comparison to our digs. Thanks for everything and I will be sure to be in touch with you next time I am headed out there!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I loved staying here and have fond memories of relaxing on the front porch after a long day in the mountains. This house is a great blend of quaintness and comfort. The house retains the appeal of this historic mining town, but has been nicely updated to provide all the creature comforts you need. Off the main drag, but centrally situated you can prepare your own meals or check out the local fare.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2006
About the owner: I first came to the San Juan Mountains 13 years ago, lured by the promise of legendary powder skiing, endless miles of sweet singletrack, and a college education. I settled in Durango and was not disappointed. I still live in Durango with my wolf-shepherd mix Skyler and kayak, bike, ski, and hike in the mountains all the time. I spent the last two and a half years personally renovating this historic Victorian house into the perfect pad for adventures in the mountains or just hanging out with a bunch of friends. Many good times have been had there already and many more to come!
Why the Owner Chose Silverton:
After skiing, biking, and hiking in the mountains around Silverton for years, I decided I needed my own base camp in Silverton even though I only live an hour away in Durango. Silverton is a peaceful mountain burg and the ultimate adventure playground, with soaring peaks, raging rivers, and unbelievable vistas from almost anywhere in town. Little has changed since Silverton was a mining boom town 100 years ago—most of the quaint Victorian houses and shops still line the wide unpaved streets. Silverton still has the feel of the Wild West of yesteryear but with a modern-day adventurous social atmosphere.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Backcountry and Nordic skiing right out the front door, while a mere block's walk to restaurants, bars, and shops!
