What a wonderful condo to stay in. We arrived after midnight, as we came from the west coast and lost many hours in travel. Rolando was accommodating to this, by leaving us a key and having someone come by the following day to check in on us and be sure we had everything we need. The house was wonderful. It was very clean, and well stocked with towels, blankets, pillows, all we needed. There were six adults traveling and we were more than comfortable. I felt as though there would have been room for more. The kitchen was well stocked with seasonings, oils, pots, pans, coffee pot, etc. There was more than enough silverware, and dishes, and plenty of seating in the living and dining areas. We really enjoyed cooking dinners on the huge roof top patio in the sunset. It was a great way to end every day. The bedrooms all had air conditioning and there were plenty of fans around the condo and a great breeze coming off the ocean to keep it too hot in the main areas. Aquatika has beautifully kept grounds. The pools were the perfect temperature, not too hot and not too cool. We were only slightly disappointed that the water slide was only available on the weekends, but when we saw all the life guards it made much more sense. Also, during the week, we were easily the only people in the pool, the complex was appeared empty. The lazy river didn't really flow, but we did enjoy inflating the provided pool floaties and slowly paddling ourselves down it with a cool beverage. It was more like a very long pool. The private beach was gorgeous, the water is warm, and it is large enough to share with the few other people out there. The gates do get locked at 7pm. This was the perfect oasis if you are looking to be outside of town, and enjoy time with friends or family. We had most our meals here, and were thankful for the large grocery store / Walmart being near by. In Loiza we didn't really go out much to eat, but we did really like the roadside food. This was a great location to get back and forth from San Juan or Fajardo. As it was pretty central between both. We enjoyed hiking in the En Yunque National Forest, scuba and snorkeling from Fajardo, and touring the bacardi factory in San Juan.

The resort was beautiful and the grounds were well maintained. The location was close to San Juan, El Yunque and Luquillo Beach. The weekends are busy, but during the week the resort was very quite. The condo was very clean when we arrived. It is fully equipped with everything you will need for you stay. Very spacious! It was very easy to get ahold of Rolando if we needed anything. It was our first visit to Puerto Rico. We highly recommend this condo. We hope to return again.

This was our first time in Puerto Rico and in fact our first vacation off mainland US, so we were not sure what to expect. The owners of the condo were great to work with and the property was very nice. We had some problems with the washer and the beds were a little thin but all in all the unit is as advertised. The complex Aquatika was very well cared for with great landscaping and maintenance. The beach is not nice at all, it is small and you can’t walk around the point in either direction. It was also very very dirty and was in fact very disappointing. The pools were nice but often times the hot tubs were off and the controls could not be accessed. The lazy river is small and was also turned off part of the day. The tennis courts and mini golf are in very poor repair. The pictures are not recent! The area around the condo was very depressed and run down, this appears to be the norm in Puerto Rico, trash is everywhere in this side of the island. We did visit the west coast and the interior and found it to be somewhat cleaner. The Bio-Bay tour was great and I would recommend the Kayak option, really cool. The area beaches were nice and for northern people like us the water was pleasantly warm and the climate is great. The roadside food was good (but very primitive), it was also cheap! If you don’t like fried foods pack a lunch! The bakeries were wonderful and the coffee is great. If you know what to expect I am sure you would like the area but we have learned that the internet can make anything look better than it is, so beware!

Owner response: Rhett, first of all, thanks for the oppportunity to host your PR vacations and for taking great care of our condo. Sorry to hear about your impressions on the sorroundings. Please, do take into consideration that summer time is the best time to enjoy the beaty of most of our Island beaches, including Aquatika's. With regards the washer, although it was bought just a year ago, we will certainly take a closer look to its operation and take propper actions if not working properly. Best Regards.

My family and I had an awesome stay at apartment 5603. It came equipped with everything we needed, making us feel right at home. Yolanda and Rolando were very nice and made our stay smooth and comfortable. I would recommend this apartment to all vacationers looking for a comfortable relaxing place to stay during their stay in Puerto Rico.

Our vacation was very pleasant at Aquatika. Rolando was always available via phone or text or email. The apartment was perfect. Very comfortable and clean. There was abundancy of towels bed sheets and even toiletries. The apartment is very well furnished and beautifully decorated. the only downside was the slide to the pool and club house bar only opened on sat and sun and we rented for a week. So we only got to enjoy that part for 2 days. We had a blast would absolutely rent again!

We stayed for 6 nights. I traveled with my husband and son (21 months). The location was perfect...close to San Juan, El Yunque, Luquillo beach. We took advantage of the kitchen and cooked each night, usually eating on the outdoor patio. Our son loved the pool and the 2 playgrounds. It was very easy to get ahold of Rolando and Yolanda if we needed anything. The property was clean and well-maintained. The weekends are busy with Puerto Rican owners enjoying themselves, but during the week the resort is very quiet. We highly recommend this condo. We hope to return again.

We stayed at the unit for 10 days in March 2012 and had a great time. We brought our 5 children ages 1-12 with us.we choose Aquatka because it had something to do for each age range. The kids loved being ale to walk down and be able to jump in the pool It was great being able to sit on the rooftop deck, we brought our laptop out and would watch movies under the stars. We went to the rainforest twice, Old San Juan three times and to different beaches almost everyday. Try Antonellas Pizza in Old San Juan, we ordered a large and it almost covered the whole table for less than $20.00. On the costal road there is kiosko El Boricua, there is always a line up and the food is great! If you want to do a Biobay tour book before you go because they fill up fast and we waited to long (will have to go on our next trip). Also if you want to catch a ferry to one of the islands, go early as they fill up fast. We had a wonderful time and would recommend this condo. Thanks! We really enjoyed our stay. The condo was in a great location in the complex as well as on the island. It was nice to reach sight seeing locations without driving for long periods of time and spending our vacation in the car! The pools on the complex are great. The landscaping was beautiful. We always felt safe and secure, the staff on the complex were very welcoming and professional. All we have to say are good things and would recommend the condo to anyone who wants to have a great time!

Highly recommend Aquatika in general, and this unit specifically! Previous positive reviews are very accurate. This is a GREAT place to stay for a relaxing, affordable vacation, with lots to do right at Aquatika and in the nearby area. The unit was clean, comfortable, and spacious, with an excellent location overlooking a large swimming pool and water slide. Our group included five adults and two kids (ages 2 and 4) and we're already thinking about our return to Aquatika. We explored the area in the mornings (el Yunque, Luquillo Beach, etc) and relaxed at Aquatika in the PM while our grand-daughter slept. When questions arose, Rolando was always a phone call or text away. One night, we had dinner at the casual (but delicious) Sea Grapes restaurant at the nearby St. Regis in Rio Grande --- their overnight rates for a double room for one night are almost as much as the week at Aquatika for the seven of us! Other more modest restaurants we tried were OK, but service was extremely slow -- OK for adults, not so great for toddlers. We did our shopping at Ralph's on Route 3 just off Route 187, but fresh fruit and vegetables were less than appealing. On a return visit, I'd cook up a few entrees and freeze them to bring along.

Wonderful Vacation! We stayed in unit 244074 the week of Christmas 2011 with our family of 7 (my husband and I and our 5 kids, ages 11-20). We loved it. So that you know that this is a real reveiw I will mention a couple negitives. Rolando met us at the car rental to give us our keys and pick up payment for the rental, he was kind and helpfull. He gave us verbal directions to Aquatika but we got lost and stuck in traffic in San Juan. Written instructions and a map would be helpfull. The only other negitives were we lost power for a few hours in the middle of the night (only once in 7 nights) and there are not screens on the windows. We only saw 2 or 3 mosiquitos in the unit so it wasn't a big deal (we like to sleep with the windows open instead of air conditioning). Everything else was perfect for us, it was everything we expected.Rolando was always a phone call away for any questions. The location is great for getting to the different attractions like beaches, the rain forest and old San Juan. The unit has everything you need to cook and plenty of towels and bedding. (a inflated basket ball would have been a bonus) The unit is clean, sunny, spacious, and close to the beach. Though not directly on the beach, the views are great. It is in the poor community of Loiza so we didn't wander around outside the complex at night on foot but felt safe driving in and out at night. We never felt unsafe and liked the authentic, non-touristy feel of Loiza. We even went to the Church at the entrence to Aquatika on Christmas day (all in spanish). If you are looking for a resort with nightlife, food, etc. this is not for you but if you are looking for a family friendly, beautiful vacation home at a great price then you will not be disapointed with this vacation home.

Great place for a family vacation!! The penthouse apartment was spacious and comfortable. My wife loved the washer and dryer. The rooftop terrace was great because we were able to barbecue and invite friends and family. The kids enjoyed the various pools, the lazy river, basketball court and the miniature golf course.

I took my family (5 adults and 3 children ages 2, 5, and 8) to Aquatika from July 10-16 and we had the pleasure of staying in this wonderful unit. It had everything we needed and more. THE UNIT: The bedrooms were comfortable and we had more than enough towels for the beach and bathing. The kitchen was well-equipped with appliances (including a coffee pot, blender, and toaster), pots, pans, dishes, and utensils. The living room was comfortable and had a GREAT view of the pool. The kids loved the spiral staircase up to the loft where they watched some movies and played games. We spent many a night cooking on the electric grill while hanging out on the terrace with cold drinks and cigars. The views of the complex, beach, and el Yunque were incredible from the terrace. THE COMPLEX: The complex itself was well kept. A few things to note: the pool is not very deep (about 3.5 feet), but it was perfect for the kids. Many of the extras such as the snack bar and waterslide were only open on the weekends; however, the fountains, water canons, and waterfall turned on earlier in the week. The beach was very nice and conveniently located. If you are a runner you can enjoy a .9 mile loop around the outer perimeter (the parking lot) or a .7 mile loop following the inner walkways. Getting in and out of the complex was never a problem and we felt safe at all times. THE TOWN: Any negative reviews about the surrounding areas of Loiza are completely unfounded. You drive through the police station driveway to get into the complex and there was a significant police presence seen whenever we drove around. ODDS AND ENDS: I would highly advise taking the 187 coastal route to and from the airport to avoid traffic and check out the beach options. Also, I would suggest shopping at Ralph's food warehouse at the intersection of Route 3 and 187. It had a much better selection than Walmart. El Jibarito in Old San Juan had some great food. We would HIGHLY recommend checking out the Bioluminescence tour. THE OWNERS: Last, but not least, the condo owners were EXCELLENT. They were always accessible from the moment we began to inquire about the property to the moment we arrived. We would definitely rent from them again.

Positives: I highly recommend Aquatika. This unit was large, clean and had a lovely view of the pool. The pool area is very clean (and I'm a stickler for cleanliness). There were enough towels, pool toys, washer and dryer made life easy. It was only 30 minutes from San Juan and 20 from the rain forest. Not so positive: There are no dressers in the rooms so all our stuff was on the floor. The grill on the rooftop is really tiny. We ended up not grilling. Plan ahead: There are no grocery stores nearby. Stop, get tons of food first. This is not a resort area. This place is nestled in a very poor town but I didn't mind because I got to experience the locals.

We had a wonderful time while on our trip in Puerto Rico. Aquatika is in a great location for just about everything. We also enjoyed the pool and beach, this unit is in a really good location as stated by the owner. You also can't beat the price and it sleeps 8 comfortably. Thank you Rolando & Yolanda for meeting all of our expectations. We hope to be back next year!

First, we will get our critism out of the way. For those looking for the typical touristy areas for PR vacation, we recommend looking in Condado or Isla Verde. If you don't mind being submerged amongst "la gente" of PR, Loiza is definitely more your style. There is a Wal-Mart and an outlet mall close, but no nice restaurants (or non fast-food American chains) within a 15 minute drive. We drove back to Isla Verde 3 nights for dinner, which is a 25 minute trip one way. Please understand that this is not a negative, especially if you plan to cook in the great kitchen in the unit or eat like the locals, we just were unaware. As for the resort, it is amazing and the beach is only inhabited by the Aquatika guests and a couple of locals. For most of our stay, there were less than 20 people as far as we could see. The pools are great and very relaxing. The condo was absolutely perfect for a vacation. The A/C in the bedrooms was good and cold, and the cross-breeze in the non-A/C areas made it bearable. The kitchen had everything we needed, and my wife was very glad to have a washer/dryer to keep things clean. The condo is in a great location...short walk to the beach and overlooking one of the largest pools. Most of our days went like this; beach in the morning, lunch in the unit, pool in the afternoon, rooftop deck sunning in the late afteroon, shower, then dinner prepared in the kitchen, movie in the loft, followed by star watching on the deck. The loft (where the only TV is) can get a little warm on hot days, but nothing a Corona or ice cream can't fix.

Don't hesitate to rent this place. It's clean, very roomy (we had 2 adults and 6 kids) and Rolando and Yolanda were great hosts. The complex and grounds are amazing. Loiza is off the beaten path enough that you feel like you're on a true island vacation, but surprisingly close to everything. The town looks a little rough, but I loved it, and the people were great. This is the best deal for the money, hands down. The condo had everything you need, plus things you don't even think about needing. I could write a novel of praise for this place, but never enough time. Thank you for everything...we hope to come back someday!!!

Thank you to Rolando & Yolanda. My husband and I and our 6 teenagers stayed in this condo from February 28th - March 4th 2010 after a cruise. We had a fabulous time. The condo exceeded our expectations and all of our kids said they preferred staying here instead of in a hotel. The condo was very clean and had all of the necessary items we needed for the 4 days we were there with lots of room for all of us. The air conditioning in the bedrooms was great to be able to cool off at night and get a good nights sleep. We spent a lot of time outside in the pools and down at the beach during the day time. We are from Canada so we really enjoyed the warm weather and sunshine. The grounds were very clean and well looked after. The condo was a great place to stay and relax for a few days after our cruise and before we had to head home to the winter snow. We have already recommended this condo to friends of our that are thinking of going to Puerto Rico and we would like to be able to return ourselves one day. Thanks again Rolando and Yolanda. You have a very beautiful home and we appreciated being able to stay in it while we were there.

We just got back from a fantastic 2 week vacation at Rolando and Yolanda's condo. I debated about renting at Aquatika after having read some negative reviews of the area (Loiza) and other traveler's concern about safety. I will admit that the area around the resort is poor, however we NEVER felt unsafe driving through it and it should NOT be a deterrent in renting at Aquatika. The condo is fully equipped with everything you will need for your stay from blenders to water floaties. The unit was immaculate when we arrived and tastefully decorated. There is PLENTY of space for a large family or multiple families to stay. We had 4 adults and a toddler and we could have easily travelled with 4 more adults. The penthouse units have A LOT more room than the single floor units. Rolando was easy to get a hold of if we needed anything and very accommodating. They even left a small table and chairs for my son which he LOVED. The only negative comment I can make is that during the day, it does get warm in the condo. There are air conditioners in the bedrooms so sleeping in a nice, cool room was never an issue. The incredible, large windows that give you a fantastic view and light also let in a lot of sunshine. But we gladly took the warmth over the Chicago weather we left behind! The resort is beautiful. The grounds are so lush and well taken care of. The gardens are so plentiful with flowers and bushes and palms. There are security guards constantly patrolling the grounds on motor bikes making sure that everyone has a bracelet on indicating they have access to the resort. They patrolled all night long as well. We felt EXTREMELY safe on the resort at ALL times. The pools are fantastic. We would swim in the regular pools when it was hot during the day, the heated pool when it started to cool off at night and then the hot tub for a late night dip. The resort is conveniently located to access Old San Juan and the rain forest and the boat docks for day trips. I don't know if it was the time of year we vacationed (January) but we basically had the resort to ourselves. There were very few people there which was really nice. I would HIGHLY recommend renting a condo here especially if you have children (although my 70 year-old parents had a WONDERFUL time as well). We have travelled to many resorts and we will undoubtedley return to this one. In fact, we have already decided to stay here for a month next year.

The apartment was roomy and spacious. It was fresh and clean, as well as it was modern and beachy. We were very comfortable. Our group consisted of 4 adults and 2 children. It has a great set up and a wonderfull terrace with views of both the ocean and the mountains as well as a front view of the pool. The only thing is that the Loft is not well ventilated. So it gets hot! Other than that evrything was wonderful and the owners were great.

Owner response: We really enjoyed having you and your family. We are thankful for your business and for taking good care of out place. Sorry to hear about the hotness of the place. It really was a though week in terms of the high temperatures across the Island. This summer started HOT! We do recommend spending time in the open private terrace while staying on the unit during the summer time. It's windy there.

We just came back from one of the best vacations that we have ever had! It was our first time in Puerto Rico, and I hope it won’t be the last. Our group included seven adults (20’s & 30’s), two children and an infant, and let me tell you, we had plenty of room in Rolando’s condo for our group. We stayed at Aquatika from 3/22/09 – 3/29/09, and we were very pleased with the experience we had. Loiza is about 30 min east of San Juan. We had a car, so it was a fairly easy commute to and from the city. Aquatika are located right on the beach, and the codo faces the main pool which was very convenient. It is also right next to the fitness room with a short walk to the beach. The condo itself was very spacious. On the main floor it has three bedrooms, two baths, washer and dryer, kitchen, living room and dining room. Upstairs, there is a loft with an additional sofa sleeper, TV, and access to a beautiful deck with patio furniture and a grill. The only thing, there is no air conditioning unit upstairs, so it can get a little warm, but there is a fan that helps especially at night. I don’t think the other units have a unit up there either. Our condo was clean, fully equipped and well taken care of. Everything was pretty much new! Also, there is internet in the unit which was awesome! Rolando was great, he even drove out to San Juan to meet us and give us the keys! He also responded to all of my questions and emails very quickly! There is a lot to do in the area. Be sure to check out old San Juan, El Yonque forest, Seven Seas or Luquillo beach, Bioluminescent Bay at night, Bacardi Rum Factory, scuba dive in Fajardo, party at the Brava night club in San Juan, and take a zip lining and rappelling adventure trip with a local company. If you have time to drive over to the other side of the island, be sure to visit Rincon which is a surfer’s town, Camuy Caves & Arecibo Observatory. I’m sure that there is something to do for everyone! We had a blast on our stay, and I hope we get to visit Puerto Rico again in the future! I would recommend renting this condo to anyone!

Puerto Rico is a great location to visit, but if you pair it with a great stay, you have got together the perfect family vacation. This is what we got when we stood at Aquatika. The pent-house was clean, tastefully furnished and equipped with everything you need for a big family. We had a group of nine, including two toddlers, and everyone was amazed at how clean and beautiful it was. We all had a great time. The pools are family friendly, you have direct access to the beach and the people are great. The description of the pent-house was as accurate as one can get, and it even had a couple of extras, such as a completely furnished private roof-top. I would recommend this place to anyone. We sincerely thank Rolando and Yolanda for their accommodations and service. Misrain and family.

This penhouse was a beautiful experience. The apartment was located right in front of one of the beautiful pools. We only had to walk down the stairs and enjoy the sun. The beach was walking distance. It was quiet and peacefull. This was a nice place to enjoy closely nature. The penhouse was beautifully kept. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Having lived at Puerto Rico most of my life, it was the perfect spot to spent a couple of days off and reunite with some family members. My two kids had a blast and enjoyed the multiple pools that Aquatika has to offer, specially the water park pool right in front of the apartment. The unit was clean and well equiped, and its location really is perfect. Hope to return next year!
