  This VRBO property is absolutely awesome! Cape San Blas was the perfect spot for a family spring break trip and this vacation home made our stay even more perfect! The owners were very attentive to all of our needs and responded back immediately with the minor issues we had. We had a clogged drain in a bathroom which they alerted us to even before our arrival and they sent a maintenance man out right when we got there to fix it. We had a slight pool issue and a maintenance person was out there within minutes of the request and it was a very simple fix. We had plenty of space for our party of 13, with teenagers and older children. The house lay out is perfect for 2 families and larger groups with the 3rd floor holding many for meals and games. We played many games, watched movies and spent time at the pool when the beach got a little chilly. We played bocce ball in the beautiful manicured yard. The wagon on the property makes it so simple to haul your chairs, umbrellas, coolers, etc to the beach every day. The extra refrigerator in the garage was perfect for having drinks by the pool. The best feature are the 2 decks where you can sit anytime and see the beach and sun rising and setting. We also loved the home made donuts by the man at the little store one block away...they also have great ice cream and t-shirts there within walking distance. There is a bike rental place within walking distance and also kyak and canoe rental places very close by. We loved the elevator for unloading as it is right off garage and car level and kitchen is on 3rd floor. Perfect for any families with older guests or disabilities. LOVED THIS VRBO!!!   San Belize was a wonderful vacation home. The home was beautiful, the pool was wonderful and the fenced yard was great for the dogs. We had a wonderful time sitting by the pool and walking on the beach with our pets. I would highly recommend this property and plan to visit again for our next vacation!

  I just returned from a week long vacation at the beautiful San Belize. I wanted to take a minute to tell you what a great time we had. Your home is a little piece of paradise on Cape San Blas, and we loved every minute we spent there! The property and house were beautifully maintained, just as the owner promised it would be. The home had every amenity we could ever hope for and then some. The Trading Post was a quick 2 minute walk down the street for everything we needed that we could not fit in our SUV, which was wonderful. I am a runner, and the running/bike path on the main road was perfect for me. Coneheads was exactly 3.2 miles away, which made for the perfect 10K run each morning. The beach was a hop, skip, and jump away with easy ramp access. The fenced in yard was a blessing because we were able to leave all the doors open and let the ocean breeze blow through the house without any concern for the safety of our dogs. The heated pool was perfect on the colder days, which allowed us to swim into the month of December. San Belize is the 3rd home we have rented in Cape San Blas, and it is the best we have stayed at thus far! In fact, we have rented other properties in the Keys, south Florida, and all through the Blue Ridge Mountains, and San Belize was our favorite of all the homes we have rented anywhere! I would give you a perfect 5 out of 5 star rating. We look forward to staying there again on our next trip to Cape San Blas, which will hopefully be next year in 2013.

  We have stayed in many vacation rentals with our children and grandchildren and this is one of the best houses we have experienced. I was concerned after reading a couple of reviews, but was reassured that all issues had been corrected. And they were, the whole property is clean and tastefully decorated and well-kept. Our family of 9 stayed 8 days and loved the house. Our grandsons, ages 8 and 9, played Army in the jungle-like yard, had Naval rescues in the pool and attacked the beach in full camo. The grandaughters, 13, 18 and 23, preferred waliking miles on the beach every morning and sunning by the pool in the afternoon. The adults loved the size of the house, everyone had privacy and lots of gathering space. We find the Cape more our style than the larger, more hectic beaches and come once or twice a year. We will be back. Thanks for sharing this special home with The Kings from Indiana.

  The house is located minutes from the beach down a gravel road with no traffic. The house layout and design are great for large groups. When we checked in we were disappointed to find no soap in any of the bathrooms or kitchen. The only toilet paper was the half used rolls left on the dispensers. No trash bags for the trash cans. When we arrived the cleaning crew was still present and we pointed out some burnt out light bulbs. after they left we were surprised to find they didn't replace them. There were over 10 light bulbs burn out in the house with one of the rooms havening no working light bulbs. The pool was unusable for the first two days because it was so murky. After it cleared up there were black spots all over the bottom. one of the bathrooms had a towel bar ripped out. The master had shower head was tied up with a hair tie and the toilet lid was cracked in half. The AC constantly leaked down onto the deck leaving large puddles of water. The top deck had a large section of the soffit ripped down and laying against the railing of the deck. All the pools chairs were broken and unusable. The ice maker leaked onto the floor and made no ice. One of the worse items was the septic system leaking in the yard with a potent smell. We too got the voice mail full message when we tried to have these items fixed. After emailing the owner this list on our first night we received apologies from Martin. The only item they resolved was the murky pool water and they sent someone out to fix the soffit over the deck. After our stay I tried to contact Martin again with no response to multiple messages. After a run to the store to buy essential toiletries and overlooking the items in disrepair we had a great week and really enjoyed the cape. It is a family friendly quiet beach location.

  This was our second visit to the San Belize and we just adore it! Had a minor issue with the fridge and it was addressed promptly. Perfect home for a large group family. Love that we can bring the dog.

  The house and property are in need of maintenance. The pool area didn’t look at all like the picture. The foliage was overgrown through the fence so that you couldn’t walk all the way around the pool, and the few chairs that were there were broken. There was some black growth on the inside pools walls that concerned us, as we thought it was mold. We called the onsite manager, but they did not return our call. We emailed the owner, who sent his pool guy out to check. The guy said it was algae, caused by some renters a few weeks back who let their dogs in the pool. He increased the chlorine level but the black stuff remained while we were there. The shower head in the master bath was broken and there was a pump on one side of the house that went off and on all night, making it difficult to sleep for those family members in the bedrooms with windows on that side of the house. On the positive side, the house was nicely decorated and well laid out, and it was great to have the elevator for our elderly parents.

  Owner response: Vicky, I am really sorry things were as you found them at the house. We really strive to make people's time at the house a positive memory. We weren't aware of most of the issues that you found there, but did take the house out of service as soon as we could to correct what was wrong. All repairs have been made, all broken/damaged furniture has been replaced, the landscaping cleaned up, & the pool has been thoroughly cleaned. As well, the pump you heard failed & has been replaced with one that doesn't make noise. We know we cannot fix what is behind us, but we sincerely hope you will accept our apologies for things being the way they were. If there is anything we can do to amend things, please do let us know.   We recently stayed in this home for a week in the summer of 2012. The house has tremendous potential, but seems to be falling into disrepair. Upon arrival, one toilet did not flush, the master shower head was broken off, the sliding door leaked, all of the chairs around the pool were broken and not useable, and the carpets were filthy. On the positive side, the beds and linens were comfy and the furniture was comfortable. We loved the pool after getting our own chairs. I attempted to contact the manager onsite only to receive a "mailbox is full" message. I called again at the beginning of the week and never received a return call. We fixed the toilet and rigged the showers ourselves. Most alarming was the septic system failure in the back yard. We had dogs, so it made it challenging to let them out since raw sewage was surfacing in the yard at various times throughout the day. After returning home I sent an email to the owner of the property voicing my health concerns. I never received a response. For the $$$, I would recommend finding a different property.

  We just returned home from this gorgeous home-away-from home. We can't say enough about it. It's absolutely beautiful. The decor was darling and done very tastefully. There is more than enough room for everyone. The upper level was awesome for our family of eight. We ate our meals up there and played games every night. I am a neat freak and this home was immaculate, a huge plus in my eyes. Kudos to the cleaning staff!! We would recommend this home to anyone. We can't wait to go back!

  Wow, We have just returned home after staying at San Belize for a week! Previous to that, we were in Fort Lauderdale for 2 weeks...SO wish it had been the other way around! We HATED to have to leave this wonderful house and location and really have to thank our dog, Monty, as we would likely never have stumbled on this magical corner of the world... Cape San Blas truly is a dog-lovers haven. The dog-friendly beaches are ridiculously beautiful and the atmosphere is SO laid-back!! This house is beautifully presented and even better in person than in the pictures! The ceiling to floor windows and wrap-around verandas are gorgeous features...so much room for everyone(5 adults and the dog)...it worked perfectly for us! Some of the best meals of our 3 weeks spent in Florida were enjoyed in Apalachicola (Tamara's) and Port St. Joe (Jo Mama's). Cannot wait to return :)
