Located on historic Route 6A, "The Cranberry Highway", just 1/2 mile from lovely Paine's Creek Beach, amid sea captain's homes, antique shops, B & B's and gift shops, this updated cottage is contemporary inside. Recently renovated, this comfortable home features main living area with vaulted ceiling and skylights opening to large front and rear decks. Choose air conditioning or open windows and doors for welcome cross ventilation. Enjoy BBQ on new gas grill, sunning and dining outside overlooking the private tree-lined rear yard with old stone wall, bird bath & feeder entertainment. Full electronic entertainment system - HD TV, DVD player, wireless internet - in main living area. Extra, portable TV/DVD player can accommodate young viewers wherever convenient for you.
Rest well as all bedroom mattresses are Tempur-Pedic style memory foam! And all bedrooms are cooled with quiet, multi-speed overhead fans. Master bedroom suite includes fireplace, sound system for your iPod, room air conditioner and private bathroom.
Antiques and white wicker decorate the 2nd bedroom with full-sized bed. The 3rd bedroom is designed for kids featuring a pillowed daybed with pull-out trundle (2 twin beds) and Lazy-boy (feet up option) reading chair. Also, window air conditioner. Of course, adults could sleep here, too! Marble bathroom services these 2 bedrooms at far end of house, separate from Master bedroom suite. Extra sleeping for 2 on Queen Futon in main living area.
The updated cook's kitchen is fully equipped and has lots of counter space, ceramic tile floor, dishwasher and convection microwave. Laundry machines are located in the basement.
Offered with recreational equipment and games for sunny or inclement weather days: croquet, horse shoes, air hockey, card and board games, puzzles. Bed linens, bath, kitchen and beach towels are provided.

The Unique Benefits at this House
This house is a joy to be in, bright and airy, with its cathedral ceiling in the main family room, cross ventilation though windows and double doors, completely outfitted kitchen for whatever cooking you might like to do, memory foam mattresses on all beds, and beautiful, private back yard for bird-watching, sunning, or yard games like horse shoes, bocce or croquet. It is fully equipped with everything we could think of to help make guests comfortable. We continue to refine it, adding new stuff as guests make suggestions, like a small computer desk 2010 - thanks for the suggestion, Marge! Also, if you have a family event planned for summer or fall and would like to have it on the Cape, let's talk!

We stayed here the 4th of July week. It was our second rental of this home and it was as good or better than the first time 2 years prior. The house has a great location on 6a in Brewster, within walking distance of Katie Seafood and ICECREAM! Paines Creek Beach is 5 minutes at most. The house is very bright and up to date. The bedrooms and open floor plan are great with the cathedral ceiling family room being the highlight. It is soooo comfortable. There is a big front yard so you are set well back from the street and a large backyard with a pleasant deck and the convenient gas grill. Being a ranch house it is not what you might think of for Cape Cod, however, I can tell you we rented it and returned in 2011 by choice. I just can not over emphasize how nice it is to have the large open family room and dining area that is open to the kitchen. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and relatives. The owners are very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. If you go, make sure to go to Paines Creek Beach at low tide and walk out (and float at high tide), go to Kate's for ice cream and onion rings, go to Rock Harbor in Orleans for the sunsets, rent kayaks at Goose Hummock in Orleans and play mini-golf at the course by the circle in Orleans. Shop in Chatham and go to their 4th of July parade at least once. Visit the lighthouse in Truro, shop in Wellfleet, go Whale and People watching in Provincetown and be sure to visit their galleries and restaurants. Be sure to finish your week with dinner around sunset at the Marshside Retaurant in East Dennis.

We have spent three extended vacations at this property in beautiful Brewster on Cape Cod and have enjoyed every minute. The house is well maintained, spacious,well equipped,centrally located to beaches,restaurants and shopping.while still affording one a respite from the hustle and bustle of the Cape. The owners are wonderful,attentive hosts and ever ready to help in any way to make your stay an enjoyable and memorable experience. We shall definitely return. July,2011

Our family's first-time visit to the Cape was for a wedding in late Jul 10. Our visit was quite enjoyable -- and made more so by our stay in this property. The property is perfect for a family; the backyard is a good place for little ones to wear off some energy! The location was so convenient and central to everything we needed.. The hosts/owners were extremely cooperative. They kindly answered any and every inquiry we had. And, they even secured a stroller (and high chair) which we made good use of. Thanks for the opportunity to provide feedback.

We had a great time and enjoyed the clean, spacious house and all the amenities. We would recommend 1157 Main St. The owner was most accommodating and helpful. It was very convenient to be able to walk to the beach,or bike. We would love to stay there again.
