A little treasure in Tahuya!

We wanted a short getaway that was fairly close to home, clean, affordable, by the water and with wildlife around...this fit the bill to a T! We saw a lot of wildlife...birds, river otter, chipmunks, raccoons and a deer even greeted us one evening by the campfire. The property manager is very helpful and also returned our security deposit to us very promptly. The only things to note are that the TV is very small (approx. 14") as is the Weber grill (approx. 20"). Also, as mentioned by someone else, it is not secluded but felt private and the neighbors are very nice! Would definitely stay here again!

Best Summer Vacation Ever! An excellent spot for birding, and tide pooling.

This little cottage was such a delight! My boys (8 and 11) spent 70% of their time in the water floating around. We picked Oysters at the nearby beach for dinner one night and had more crab in our traps than we could eat. We spent almost all our time at the house with one day being a boat trip over to Hoodsport for ice cream. We saw the Milky Way from the lawn on the first night and enjoyed roasting marshmallows the next. The birding was amazing - we saw Bald Eagles, Kingfishers, Swallows, Black-headed Grosbeaks, Purple Finches, Great Blue Herons and two species of Hummingbirds all from the picnic table! We also enjoyed eating our breakfast one morning in the company of a River Otter who was catching clams in the inlet 5 feet from where we were sitting. The boys are already asking if we can return next year and hopefully we will be able to. The neighbors were all very friendly and we felt quite at home.

Beautiful location, loved the stay. Road beyond cottage is a good walk for a workout. Not quite as secluded as pic appears, but is private. Would love to go again and again.

We love the Cottage and everything about it. Cottage felted like home right away. Love BBQing in the back and watched the water and wildlife all around. Our kids loved fishing in the inlet outback and had a blast. Especially love waking up in the kitchen and looking out toward the water with a cup of coffee. We would do it again and is thinking about it soon. Just imagine burning firewoods in the wood stove and sitting in the sitting area with a cup of hot chocolate :)

Great place for the two of us. Quiet, which was nice. Next time, we will bring our kayak and enjoy using the canal outside the home. Clean and loved the full kitchen. Not a lot of places to eat out that far down the canal.

Great value for the money. Had a wonderful time with my kids in and out of the water! Make sure you bring cooking spray, a fan (the little house got really hot at night) and your water floaties!
Owner response:FYI - there is cooking spray there now. There is also a fan. It's not too bad at night - this guest stayed during the 100+ degree heat wave.

Our stay was very relaxing as we enjoyed the changing tides on the hood canal inlet and fires at night, the cabin is very close to a public beach with claming and 10 minutes to fresh water lakes, also there is a great ORV riding area about 20 min away (Tahuya ORV Park).
