Listen for the surf breaking when the swell is up. Enjoy beautiful mountain and sunset views from the front porch. This Bungalow has the charm of an older home with wood floors and tile counters and is well cared for. You can spend a week here without once needing to drive anywhere. All your needs are provided for just 3 blocks from the house. We have provided 2 surfboards and 2 boogie boards with towels and beach chairs for your use at the beach. Surf lessons can be arranged too. Carpinteria is one of the last remaining small California beach towns and is known for it's relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
If you do want to explore further, Santa Barbara is only 15 minutes up the road and offers many options from museums, whale watching, harbor sight seeing, shopping, movies and excellent restaurants. The Santa Barbara Mission, the County Court House, and Lotus Land Botanical Gardens are some of the top destinations. We were so happy with this lovely house. We traveled with two small children and the house was perfect- great yard (back is all the way fenced), two playgrounds within walking distance (one right across the street), the beach is so close (easy walk), and there is plenty of room in the house to play. Everything we needed was there (just a heads-up- no microwave which was fine, but good to know!), the owners are very available, and the town is charming. We loved Parado Beach Grill- beautiful and amazing play space for the kids, the Santa Barbara zoo, and riding the Amtrak which goes right through town. A great family trip!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

My husband and I decided to do a last minute getaway to Carpinteria with our two toddlers. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly greeted by the adorable beach house that looks like it's straight out of a Pottery Barn catalog. The front yard was perfect for our kids to play around in and there was also a cute patio on the side of the house with a barbecue and nice sized table for outdoor dining. The rooms, bathrooms and common areas were spacious and very comfortable. They also have boogie boards, surf boards, wagon, sand toys and more...so no need to bring your own. If you're looking for a great place with tons of charm where you can ditch the car, relax, enjoy the beach and surrounding areas and do everything in close proximity by foot...this is the place for you!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car.

Our Family of 5 stayed here and had a great time. The house is in great condition and gave everyone their own space. The yard is very well kept and this includes a great patio for dining. The location can't be beat - 2 blocks to shops, 2 blocks to the beach. The best part is the beach stuff(boogie boards, chairs, sand toys and wagon) that comes with the rental. The outdoor shower is great for getting all the beach sand off you at the end of the day. We can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

We were 3 couples who spent 4 days in this wonderful house. It looks rather small in the photos, but it was spacious enough. We were warm welcomed by the hosts and they were helpful in every way. The house was clean and well-maintained. The photos reflects very well the rental's appearance. I would definitive recommend this for guests seeking a house nearby the beach and walking distance to a quiet and charming town.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, tourists without a car.

It was perfect! The cottage welcomed us with a vase of flowers. There were a few items on the coffee table and around, but not enough "stuff" to be cluttered in any way. It was very clean. It was 2 blocks from the beach/state park, so we took walks on the beach several times over the weekend. Walking into the town was about a 4 block walk. Once the cars were parked, we didn't use them! I would absolutely recommend this property.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car.

We stayed here over Spring Break 2011 and really enjoyed the amenities this bungalow had to offer as well as it's location just a few hundred yards away from the state beach park and central Carpenteria. You really can park your car in the driveway and walk to the downtown shops, grocery store and restaurants. The home is well stocked, very well maintained, and has everything you'd expect in an upscale home including whopping fast internet and beach gear (including a soft sand wagon). The owners Don and Patti have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We are vacation rental owners ourselves, and have taken back some tips on this home. We will DEFINITELY return to enjoy the sun and surf!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, tourists without a car.
