What a beautiful location and wonderful cabin. I enjoyed the peaceful retreat, right in the middle of the forest – full of tall pines, aspen trees and huge boulders. The hiking was great and I enjoyed visiting Cherokee Castle just a few miles from the cabin. One week was just not enough. Tom & Deb were great – made me feel right at home. I look forward to returning to their little slice of heaven!

We just loved this place. It exceeded our expectations. Please note that the pictures on this website don’t do it justice. It is nature at its best with all the amenities you need. I cannot think of one thing that we needed and it wasn’t there at our disposal. We entertained family and friends and all they could say was “Uhh…ahh”- everywhere they looked. The area with the pool is breathtaking. One week at this place was not enough. We loved driving 45 minutes to visit friends and family or to go sightseeing and returning to this wonderful cabin. Please note the day before our arrival they got Wi-Fi!!! Special thanks to Deb and Tom for their wonderful hospitality and all their help during our stay.

We stayed here for four nights last week. We arrived (albeit, in snow "insert smiley face") to a beautiful, quiet and cozy cabin. We enjoyed every minute. Tom and Deb have a little piece of paradise here. The cabin was clean and had all the amenities of home. The land surrounding the cabin is great for morning hikes. The location was perfect as we were only 45 minutes from both Denver and Colorado Springs. Do yourself a favor and book a few nights here. You won’t regret it.
Owner response:Thanks so much Matt!! We're glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you'll be back!!

What a wonderful place in which to vacation! We enjoyed the cabin very much and it had everything we needed. Plus we had the great hospitality of Tom & Deb! The scenery and golf courses are spectacular in the area and all available in our own country! Great week at the Cabin in the Pike! Thank you.

We spent Labor Day weekend in Tom & Deb's cabin and found it comfortable, spacious, and architecturally unique. The numerous large windows let in lots of natural light, which we enjoyed. The large bedroom on the top floor has a cozy TV-watching area on one end with comfortable chairs. Although it's located in a quiet, forested rural area, we found it very convenient to take day trips up to Denver and Boulder and down to Colorado Springs. Tom and Deb were exceptionally hospitable and made themselves available to answer questions. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience that we will remember for a long time.

My wife and I had the priviledge of staying at this beautiful place after most of the week in Denver on business. It was essentially like having the place as your own...quiet, private and relaxing. The river road trip was fantastic. Many thanks to Tom & Deb for a fantastic stay at a fantastic place! The Ware's

Tom & Deb's "Cabin In The Pike" is a delightful getaway in a quiet, beautiful setting just minutes from Sedalia and Castlerock, CO. My wife and I have traveled extensively through the years and have had the opportunity to experience a wide range of hosts & amenities. To date, 'CITP' is the "Best of the Best"!! Tom & Deb take great care in providing every possible convenience at the cabin and are gracious and friendly hosts and I should also mention that they always go out of their way to provide a quiet, relaxed and very private sanctuary. Many thanks again Tom & Deb and we are looking forward to next year already!! :-) The Wenzel's Lawrence, KS

Beautiful!! We could not have enjoyed our extended weekend any more than we did. The cabin is lovely, the setting cannot be duplicated and it felt like we had the entire moutainside to ourselves. This IS Colorado at its BEST...

Wow...I read all of the customer reviews before booking this cabin, and every one was right on target! Words cannot describe the serenity and beauty of the cabin's setting and thoughtful layout. As one who enjoys creature comforts, the bed and steam shower far exceeded my expectations! Tom is a wonderful host (didn't have the pleasure of meeting Deb this time) and is very fun to talk to. If you rent this property, be sure to treat yourself to a fine dinner at Gabriel's in Sedalia! Cooking indoors or grilling are great options, too, and you can enjoy your meals under the romantic gazebo (complete with CD player!). The small details are noticed and appreciated with this top-notch haven. We'll definitely book this property again.

Wow, we have rented houses through VRBO at least ten times throughout the country, and this has to be the best. The location in the forest, the owners who are so gracious that they leave a bottle of wine for you, and the beautiful cabin, what is not to like.

This is a fantastic place with hiking right outside the door. Previous comments are right on target. One thing that nobody else has mentioned is the comfort created by the great seating and lighting. There are lots of different lighting options, lamps, spots, and even recessed flourescent lighting, so you can set whatever mood you'd like. I guess this may seem like a minor thing, but if you stay here you'll see what I mean. The same goes for the seating options, inside the cabin and on the deck. There are lots of places to relax. Also, the decor is well thought out. Lots of small accents really add to the overall experience.

We spent a full week at Cabin in the Pike and it was very enjoyable. The cabin is spacious, has everything you could possibly need and very clean (no creepy crawlies all over the place). It is a wonderful location in that you are up in the mountain area in the woods, where it is quiet and completely relaxing, yet you are just about a 15 minute drive from grocery stores and a nice outlet mall. It is also very well located to visit some of the well known sites in Colorado, such as Pike's Peak, the Airforce Academy and the Royal Gorge. It is a lovely, lovely cabin. Our kids loved it, we saw deer as we sat on the porch and the boys climbed around on the rocks. I am sure we will be back to stay again soon.

Stayed here a few days third week of September and was absolutely a great place to stay, even tho I was a bit early for the color in the Aspens. Brought my dog and she loved it as well. Very quiet and peaceful place to gather your thoughts or rest up from hiking, and makes a great base camp for other activities as well. This is a great place for singles or couples, very well laid out and comfortably furnished, and the outside area is just pristine and beautiful as well. Would highly recommend it and intend to return next year for a few more days. Thanks Tom and Deb for a great stay. James Johnson St Louis area

Absolutely beautiful cabin in a fantastic setting. We only got to stay for a few days and nights, but it was wonderful. As others have said, one of the best things about the location is that it's far enough from the rat race to be incredibly peaceful, but you're close enough to Denver, Colorado Springs and so many other touristy and not so touristy things to keep you busy if that's what you prefer. The cabin was adorable with everything you could need to have a "home away from home" vacation. Our hostess Deb was extremely friendly and welcoming. When we appeared at the pool while she was trying to water her flowers she took the time to sit and find out about my husband and myself and make us feel at ease. We didn't get to meet Tom due to his work, but hopefully next time. All in all, it was a wonderful experience that stands out as a high point of our Colorado vacation!

When you are on your honeymoon, you couldn't ask for a better place than the "Cabin in the Pike". We enjoyed every aspect that the cabin had to offer and had a perfect vacation for just the two of us. The cabin is located far enough from the "hustle and bustle" to feel secluded, but close enough to take a scenic drive into Castle Rock. The host and hostess, Tom and Deb, filled the cabin with brochures and Colorado reading materials. Our honeymoon was very relaxing and peaceful. We highly recommend the "Cabin in the Pike" if you would like to experience the same. We have already thought about booking again next summer!!!!

When you chose The Cabin In The Pike its a "sure thing". From the perfect hosts Tom and Deb, to everything you can do in and around the Cabin. Its so centrally located that you can visit many many attractions in the Rocky Mountain State. Such places as Denver, Boulder, Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park are within easy reach from the cabin. Wildlife such as Elk and fox pass right in front of the cabin. An abundance of Broadtailed hummingbirds make the cabin their home also and will keep you entertained with their antics! The beauty of this piece of Rocky Mountain heaven made this our best 2 weeks ever!!

We stayed at the Cabin in the Pike for 7 nights in early June, 2004. As a couple traveling without children, it was just what we were looking for - beautiful scenery, appealing accomodations, away from hustle & bustle (shopping is about 15 minutes away), remote feel but not really remote. We've rented dozens of vacation homes and this is among the best. The cabin was stocked with necessities such as paper towels, spices, soaps, etc. That sets it apart from most of the rest. Neatest things? - The huge boulders around the cabin, the deer, and being able to bring our dog with us.

A truly exquisite site...7 miles from civilzation but you feel much further away. Very private, with owners sensitive to your privacy, though they are close by. Lots of forest to hike, windows to view sky, high-end amenitites (Jacuzzi, fireplace, lots of towels, extra pillows, shampoo, rinse and lots of other added little touches). We stayed 3 days and wanted 3 weeks. Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful place you will not want to leave. Hundreds of pine trees and huge boulders surround this cabin on the side of a mountain, the view is spectacular. The cabin has windows everywhere for you to enjoy nature's beauty. The cabins is comfortable for families with children, and with hiking just out the door and the mountain side pool, you will enjoy. Colorado Springs has many things to do and is about a 45 minute drive, every minute of the drive is worth it to stay at this cabin. Tom and Deborah are great hosts and will help make your stay a good one.

This property is beautiful. All the comforts of home with a breathtaking view from every side. Very comfortable for adults and children. Plenty of area to take walks and run and play. Nice swimming area. There are quite a few stairs getting to the door and from master bedroom to bath downstairs, but just adds to good exercise. Owners were very nice and helpful. Lots of material in house telling things to do in the area. Highly recommend!

This property is absolutely beautiful... The little cabin is tucked in the woods with huge boulders in the background. The inside is all wood panels with a beautiful stone fireplace and chimney. It's two stories with lots of privacy and excellent views from every advantage point. You can even watch the deer and elk while bathing in the jaccuzzi bathtub. For a quiet evening, enjoy the cool mountain air with a glass of wine on the wraparound deck. This deck is huge and boasts a wonderful picnic table, grill, and lounge chairs. Just a few steps away is the most unusual mountain swimming pool. Plenty of walking trails and very convenient to the city of Denver. It's truly nature at its best without the long drive. Awesome!
