Located 100 feet from the ocean in a secluded beachside community, the home has access to a small, private beach, perfect for putting in a kayak or canoe, or for the more adventuresome, boogie boarding or surfing an advanced, local surf break. An infinity pool and spa offer quiet relaxation in the beautifully landscaped backyard overlooking the ocean.
Perched at the end of a private, dead end lane, the house looks out to Koko Head Crater, Lanai and Maui, and enjoys peaceful sunrises and cool ocean breezes year round. Originally used as a beach and fishing retreat for Hawaiian royalty, this private cove remains today one of the best kept secrets on the island.
Custom built in 2002 and featured in the London Financial Times travel section in 2005, the home was carefully designed to take advantage of the exceptional views from every room. Its architecture reflects a sophisticated blend of Hawaiian and Balinese design and detail, including a double pitched roof, 20 foot vaulted ceilings, rich, teak flooring, carved wood doors and ceiling molding, ceiling fans and sill vent windows which allow a flow of fresh air from the outside to naturally cool the house. The house is also fully air-conditioned, with separate zones in all rooms. The house sleeps 8, with 4 bedrooms, 3 ½ baths, a living room, study, family room, exercise room and two large, covered lanais.
The large living room has 20 foot, vaulted ceilings and 30 feet of sliding glass doors that open to a spacious, covered lanai, creating a huge, indoor/outdoor living space with complete privacy and magnificent ocean views and breezes. The room is entered through a gracious foyer, has a Steinway grand piano and comfortable seating for relaxing and visiting. The dining room also opens onto the lanai and flows into a large kitchen with granite counters, a center island, and top of the line appliances. Outside the kitchen is a built-in, gas barbeque, with a pass through window into the kitchen. Both dining room and kitchen also have 20 foot, vaulted ceilings. The main floor of the house is completed with an office that opens onto the Living Room, Master suite, powder room and laundry room.
Downstairs are an additional Master suite with private bath, and two bedrooms that share a large bathroom with both indoor and outdoor showers. The family room has a pool table, large T.V. and opens onto a garden, pool and a covered lanai with a dining table. There is also a small exercise room with an elliptical exercise machine, free weights, exercise ball and bands.
The home has wireless Internet throughout, is walking distance from Diamond Head Crater, and within a five minute drive to Waikiki or Kahala Mall. A property manager lives in a separate cottage nearby. A private chef and daily maid service can also be arranged.

I just spent my 30th birthday in Hawaii and to be honest the pictures don't show at all what an amazing house we stayed in. When we entered the front door the first time, we were just speechless what view we would have for the next week. This house just has everything!!! I would definitely stay there again. After staying in a hotel last year my wife and I decided to make a return trip to Oahu this year but bring the family with us. Six months of searching for the ideal house finally led us to this property. All I can say is that none of us wanted to leave. The views of Koko Head are incredible......the views of the ocean are incredible. Waking up every morning from the upstairs master suite to a Hawaiian sunrise was gorgeous. The privacy that renting this house provided is very much appreciated but being only a few minutes from Waikiki makes it even better. I would recommend this property to anyone interested in actually getting what you pay for on your vacation to Oahu. Carol is wonderful to work with and her property manager Leslie made sure we had a stay to remember.

We stayed here for three weeks in Feb./March '10 and had a wonderful time. The first thing that we both noticed was that as nice as the photos of this house are on the website, they do not do represent how beautiful it is in person. The views out across the coral reef with Koko Head and Koko Crater in the background were nothing short of stunning. Every room in the house looks out onto these views as well so there is this great feeling of being outside even when one is inside! We also loved the location of the house as it is a 15 minute walk up to the Saturday farmer's market, a 10 minute walk to what we called the Diamond Head lookout (great for sunset, surfer and whale watching!) and not too much further to get to Kapiolani Park and the nearby beaches. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat here in Hawaii. What an amazing retreat! From the moment you walk into this beautiful home you will experience a Hawaiian vacation that you will never forget. The expansive views of the ocean outside on the large deck will leave you captivated and will make it hard for you to want to leave for the day. The home is perfectly laid out with room for gathering of families or friends, but there is also plenty of spaces for privacy. The furnishings are gorgeous and comfortable and the large gourmet kitchen is perfect. We loved our time in the infinity edge pool and hot tub, looking out over the ocean. The owner was responsive to all of our questions and the caretakers nearby were friendly and quick to help with any of our needs. We couldn't have asked for a better location to spend our week in the islands and can't wait to come back.

This is a wonderful house, well constructed with practically ideal feng shui in the layout. The views are sweeping of the ocean and the hills with the lights of the houses charmingly spread in lovely arrays at night. The pictures do not do the house or the view justice! The house is so well arranged and cared for -- it was ideal for our family. The house is extremely well equipped throughout and has a large collection of interesting books spread throughout. Sitting on the lanai is a very pleasurable experience day or night. There are two large TV's with cable and movie channels as well as a pool table and infinite edge swimming pool and spa. A wonderful caretaker is available if there are any problems or questions about where to go and the included housekeepers are extremely pleasant and thorough. While there I had local friends over and one of their comments was that this was the true Polynesian experience that most people who come to Hawaii miss. This house is a hidden jewel.

Beautiful place! Great location! Unbelievable whale sightings! (cuz it was winter, I'm told...) We had the chance to stay here during a big family reunion, and it worked out great. Ultra-exclusive, historic & charming neighborhood in residential East Honolulu with its own semi-private scenic cove beach, yet close to Waikiki Beach with NO traffic ever. The house is made for comfort with a great kitchen. And the view is to die for -- as is the relaxing "lanai" from which we viewed it. The kids loved the pool and the hot tub. Don't miss sunrise over Koko Head! Good library too, btw.

What a gorgeous place and what a fantastic time we hadat this lovely home. The location is perfect, with outstanding views of the Ocean framing Cocohead and the Mountains. The location in Kahala, the nicest neighborhood on the island and just a few moments from the supermaket and shopping mall; and all of Honolulu's restaruants, museums,and activities just moments away.
