Why the Owner Chose Gingerland
We visited Nevis several years ago and fell in love with this beautiful, peaceful island. We envisioned it as a place we would love to visit each year and bring our children. The rain forest just outside your door is spectacular and the calm seas on the beach make it impossible not to relax and leave your worries behind. Ultimately, we look forward to retiring in Nevis and living the relaxed Caribbean life style each day.
The Unique Benefits of this House

A great villa with a stunning view, on a beautiful island. We could walk to either the Golden Rock(45 mins) or the Hermitage (15 mins). Plantation inns. Bearing in mind we are Brits and used to walking! A rental car is a must unless you are used to mountain biking. The accommodation for 4 people was perfect. The cooling off pool just the ticket for the overheating body. A new outside grill would be a plus, although the one there worked well enough. Nevis is blessed with many good places to eat and great beach bars. We took both the main ferry from St Kitts, an interesting experience, and a speedboat from Oualie Beach. The speedboat is the more predictable option. The ferry is for the more adventurous, especially the port area at Basseterre late in the day! If you want a peaceful place with the option for some wild nights out then look no further.

Sel de la Terre is in a great location for hiking to the top of Mt. Nevis...the start of the trail is just past the villa! (Its location is also ideal for cool breezes and incredible views.) Our guide met us at the driveway for an afternoon hike to the top. An incredibly fun, if not challenging, adventure to the top for an impressive view of the island. A refreshing dip in the pool followed by cocktails was a perfect ending to our day. The villa was perfect for our family's vacation - the grandparents had the lower suite with 4 adults and 3 young children enjoying the bedrooms on the main floor. We all fit around the dining room table and there was a special stash of videos and toys for the kids. It's a short drive to the grocery store, into town or over to the beaches. Beautifully decorated villa with super-comfortable furniture and beds.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at your villa. As new retirees, we were looking for a vacation site “away from it all”. You have all the necessities for a carefree, peaceful holiday. We enjoyed the panoramic view each morning with coffee in the gazebo, afternoons with a book and a drink by the plunge pool, and dining out at various restaurants in the evenings. The villa is very tastefully decorated and very comfortable. We will invite our friends to join us on our next visit.

What an absolutely breathtaking view of the Caribbean sunset and the Nevis coast! We enjoyed every morning and evening at Sel de la Terre, relaxing on the pool deck, grilling surf and turf from the market, and sipping cocktails under the starlit sky. Barbeque dinner at the nearby Hermitage is a must, and we also enjoyed visiting Pinney’s Beach, the Nisbet Plantation and lunch at Oualie Beach. Our kids’ favorite was the adventurous self-guided hike at Golden Rock Plantation. We had so much fun exploring Nevis - we can’t wait to visit again soon!
