This spacious BEACHFRONT home is located on a private, gated 5-acre estate sized parcel on the island’s remote West End, ideally situated DIRECTLY ON DIXIE MARU BEACH, the ONLY SAFE SWIMMING BEACH on the island all year long. On Molokai you will find unspoiled beaches up and down the coastline, but this is everyone's favorite because of the ideal swimming conditions in this small secluded beach cove. While others advertise beach front, no one can boast of having ocean front that is swimmable all year long. Why settle for just a beach when you can be the ONLY ONE to have your own spot in the sun where you can swim too. Molokai is friendly locals with true “aloha spirit,” and a relaxed lifestyle unique to the island of Molokai. Unobstructed by development, you are invited to explore the “friendly isle” and create your own dream vacation in a true Hawaiian paradise.
This 4-bedroom house is beautifully furnished, offers all the comforts of home, and is ideally suited for large families and for entertaining. The large living room with its high ceilings provides a wonderful family gathering area, which leads to a 650 square foot open air deck that is perfect for sunbathing, whale watching, spectacular sunsets, BBQ's and eating under the stars. There are two plantation teak dining sets to accommodate a private dinner party. Enjoy expansive views of the Pacific Ocean and of Diamond Head and the Honolulu city lights across the Kaiwi Channel. Off the deck is a 1-acre lawn which is ideal for kids’ games and other outdoor sports and activities. The smartly configured kitchen with all new appliances makes mealtimes a breeze. Directly off the living room is a 775 square foot enclosed lanai which provides a comfortable area for dining, reading, puzzles/board games or simply relaxing on the comfortable teak patio furniture. Spacious bedrooms, all of which offer incredible ocean views, enable you to unwind and recharge following the day’s activities as you fall asleep to the soothing sounds of the ocean just outside your windows.
During the day, Molokai offers something for everyone: Miles of unpaved trails provide endless challenges for avid mountain bikers. Ocean-lovers will find spectacular swimming, body surfing, snorkeling, fishing, kayaking, windsurfing, scuba diving and standup paddle boarding. And if you enjoy surfing, the waves here can reach world class conditions during certain times of the year. For hikers, there are hikes to deserted beaches, hikes into the lush, tropical Halawa valley and waterfalls on the East side of the island, hikes inland around the Nature Conservancy’s Kamakou Preserve, hikes overlooking the dramatic North Shore (featuring the world’s tallest sea cliffs), and hikes overlooking (or down to) the Kalaupapa National Historical Park (historical leper colony), to name a few! Many other activities, such as golf, horseback riding and archery, are also available throughout the year.
Grocery stores, restaurants, bakeries, etc. are all located in the town of Kaunakakai – approximately 30 minutes away by car – which is the center of activity on the island. On Saturday mornings you can browse the Kaunakakai outdoor marketplace for local crafts and delicious locally-grown foods. Molokai's newest addition is Kumu Farms, where you can buy locally grown organic fruits and vegetables, along with Molokai grass fed beef, and the best pesto you have ever tasted. A touch of Tuscany awaits you. Along the south shore you can still find ancient coastal fishponds, originally built for Hawaiian chiefs and kings. Maunaloa Town is located 10 minutes away, where you will find a General Store, Post Office, the Big Wind Kite Factory and a neighborhood of plantation-style homes, reminiscent of “old Hawaii,” surrounded by the undeveloped ranchlands owned by the Molokai Ranch. It is just a short plane ride from Honolulu, Maui or the island of Hawaii to Molokai’s Ho’olehua Airport.
After a day or two of exploring, you will come to agree that you have the BEST SPOT ON THE ISLAND.
You can swim, bike, sunbathe, and watch some of the most fabulous sunsets over Waikiki from your lanai. It can't get any better! This is "No Ka Oi" as the Hawaiians say.."the best"!
After visiting the island I’m sure you will agree that Molokai is the world’s best kept secret! No crowds, no traffic, no stress. Molokai – an island suspended in time. Molokai is as the locals say:
"Mo-Bettah"!

The Unique Benefits at this House
The location directly on famous Dixie Maru Beach is unique to only two houses. This is the only one of the two that is situated to see the entire bay and beach from the house and lanai. This beach is the only real safe swimming beach all year long on Molokai. Popahaku Beach is beautiful but dangerous for swimming much of the year. Most people find their way to this secluded cove for swimming, snorkeling, and watching the sunsets.
The ONLY safe swimming beach year around on Molokai...great snorkeling, monk seals, turtles, surfing, and SUNSETS!
3 miles of white sand beach..fantastic for beachcombing and swimming in the summer. Winter surf can be dangerous.
Worth the hike...total seclusion most of the time..ask for directions or look at the up close satellite showing the path down the dirt road

I've stayed in many rental homes on Molokai but this house is the ONE. If you really want to get away and escape the rat race you will not be disapointed. No traffic, sirens, crowds or noisy neighbors. The only sounds you will here are nature at it's finest. It's a bird watchers dream along with deer, turkey's, whales right off the bay and sunsets from this beach are world class!! Not to mention the stars at night- it's simply mind blowing. The house is sprawling and wonderfully appointed. Warning though... once you get to the house you will have little motivation to leave. Absolute paradise on Molokai- I can't wait to visit again!! Many Mahalos Scott!

We love the peace, quiet and un-touristed pace of Molokai, so we were glad to rent Beach House on Dixie Maru. I was looking for a private tropical experience so my wife and 5 yr old daughter could pass the time near beach and sand, uninterrupted. Passing thru this home's private gate was just the start to our unique & memorable experience: a large estate like home over looking a west facing- secluded, coral sand beach, warm-calm waters and fire laden sunsets every night. This kind of seclusion and privacy is not for everyone especially if you crave your daily Starbucks, fine dinning and urban hangouts; Molokai is not at all your place for that matter. What makes 'Molo' unique and what you will find here is a beach house connected to the land and sea around it, a place to come relax and let time pass without clock watching, a place to cook your own meals with friends and love ones, to loose your self without a care in the world. The house is not a modern hi tech marvel ; it's well designed custom layout with massive timber beams and fine wood detailing throughout achieves a nice balance between large open plan family living-entertaining and the well appointed private bedrooms and spaces in the wings & up upstairs. The architect thought out these attributes well, further rooting this home to its unique land and sea location and there are enough games & beach gear to keep several families happy. Before motels, hotels, condos, apartments, timeshares, subdivided lots and beachfront slices choker block full of neighbors where ever paradise meets people.....before all this...... you have Beach House...quiet, alone, tranquil....wake up and stare at an empty beach and bay; go for a morning beach walk & swim, have lunch, nap, go for a hike or drive along empty roads, enjoy your diner on deck with red-orange suns sets, beach, surf and waves as the wonder on the Milky Way lights up the sky- every night! These preferences are not to everyones tastes- to which I am glad. The House Keeper and Scott were helpful and gracious during our stay and we wish to thank them for all their efforts. A hearty recommend for all those who agree with the above!

Mahalo nui to the Hamamoto's for a much needed retreat to this oasis in Molokai. The wind, sea, sand, salt, seals and stars were most therapeutic.

The house is wonderful...so perfect for our family. This has been a very relaxing week. We have enjoyed the beaches, drove to the end of the road on the other end of the island, with a few stops along the way. Thank you for sharing with us this treasure of a home! Loved it very much.

This is a special place. It is not what you might think of as the "Hawaii" in the brochure. There are not a lot of restaurants and tourists. What you do get, though, is the most peaceful, wonderful, relaxing vacation at a house that has everything you need. The cove is fun for swimming. Very nearby, you can find great snorkeling. We would recommend taking a guide boat through Molokai Fish and Dive out to the reefs. It's amazing.

This is the best rental house in all of Hawaii! I am a television producer living in Hollywood CA. I wanted to disappear on a vacation that would be a beautiful, peaceful, private, and relaxing - a getaway where I would not be surrounded by "tourists". The Dixie house fit the bill on all counts. Its location at the end of the road on its own private acres behind gates is spectacular. Laying in bed in the master bedroom and seeing / hearing the waves crash on the beach is heaven. And this is the best swimming beach on the island, just steps from the back door. I went swimming every day. The outdoor shower was a total treat - I never used any of the indoor showers! And the house comes with towels, bedding, and all the kitchen gear you could ever need. It also has all the outdoor gear you might want to use. For a relaxing getaway, this is likely the best spot I have ever found in America. And I'm grateful to Scott who coordinated the whole rental process and made it all so clear and simple with his directions and tips. I did not want to return to Los Angeles. But when I did return, I was more relaxed and recharged that I have been in years. Thank you, Dixie House! Jeff Jenkins, Hollywood CA
