Flat 48B is situated at the front of the block, on the 2nd floor, overlooking Berkeley Square. It comprises a drawing room, two bedrooms, entrance hall, kitchen and two bathrooms, one being en-suite to bedroom one, and a cloakroom.
The down and dirty:
This flat was purchased as a vacation property probably thirty years ago. At the time, a noted architect and designer decorated the place. It was featured in design magazines of that era. The drawback is that the place has been only marginally updated, like wireless internet, cable TV and Air Conditioning. The other serious drawback is that the master bath is just that, a master bathroom. No shower. The tub is large enough to do laps in, but still, there's only one shower and that's attached to the smaller bedroom's bathroom.
The management of the building has varied over the years, but in the last decade, double-glazed (modern) windows were added to the building's facade. As such, this single improvement added much-needed sound insulation. This new glazing is also the front of the flat that overlooks the park, Berkeley Square.
Air Conditioning in the London climate, while amusing to owners from Texas, is rather important during the occasional sultry summer, think: London Fog.
Because it is an older building, and due to its original era of construction, the closet space is limited, at best. The kitchen isn't small; however, the refrigerator is one of those half-size units.
At almost a thousand square feet, it's a huge space in tiny and cramped London. With the entire front of the flat overlooking the park, the view is breathtaking from its location on the Third Floor (American) or Second Floor (British). Which can be a problem as the narrow stair case and small elevator make it difficult, at best, to wrestle large suitcases up and down the stairs. The elevator is okay for one or two people, but more than that is a problem, as are full-sized steamer trunks. Fortunately, not many people travel with those anymore. The elevator, although seemingly of historical value, it has been refurbished and is reliable, just not particularly commodious.
Housekeeping is not like a hotel, in the traditional sense of maid service. There is light cleaning and housekeeping services, fresh linens and so forth, twice a week.

Why the Owner Chose Westminster
48B Berkeley Square 48B Berkeley Square is an ideal place to stay while visiting London. It has two bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, large sitting/dining room and fully equipped kitchen. The bedrooms and sitting/dining room overlook Berkeley Square with its famed plane trees planted in 1793. It is fully furnished including cable TV, telephone, fax and (wireless) DSL. Housekeeping services the flat two times a week. Flat 48B is in the heart of Mayfair within walking distance of London’s theatres and other attractions, and it is midway between the Green Park and Bond Street ‘tube stations’. A number 8 bus stops a few steps from the front door, and taxis are available at all hours. The Flat is available on a weekly basis for periods up to several months. We love children; however, this place isn't "kid friendly." No children, please.
