This craftsman-style home has been decorated with comfort, attention to detail, and modern appointments throughout. The lovely newly-remodeled living room boasts Brazilian cherry wood floors, persian carpets, overstuffed sofas, leather recliner chairs, a two-story cathedral ceiling, and floor-to-ceiling windows that provide a 90 degree view of the Marin watershed and Mt. Tamalpais.
The open floor plan that connects the family room and kitchen make the main living area perfect for entertaining, or for whipping up something in the gourmet fully-stocked kitchen while the rest of the family watches t.v. nearby.
The private master suite has a romantic loft-style bedroom, large dressing/sitting area, and a two person walk-in shower with new Grohe massage shower heads and side jets. You'll never want your shower to end. The downstairs bedroom/office has brand new cherry day and trundle twin beds, complete with teddy bears and baby monitor.
The grounds are landscaped with brilliant year round flowers, native foliage (oaks, bay, and sage) an herb garden, a variety of fruit trees (apples, apricots, oranges, and lemons), and a seasonal vegetable garden that guests may enjoy. A hillside private sitting area is perfect for a morning meditation, or an evening contemplation of Mt. Tam or the night sky.
Secluded and surrounded by nature, yet close to downtown Fairfax where you’ll find restaurants, coffeehouses, a microbrewery, music venues, and a 4-screen movie theater. Hiking and biking trails are right out the front door, and fishing and golfing are just a short car ride up the mountain.
Also nearby are Sausalito, Mount Tamalpais State Park, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Point Reyes, Muir Woods, and the world-famous Napa/Sonoma Wine Country (1 hour away).
Saving the best for last is the home's close proximity to San Francisco, and all that this world-famous city has to offer. $1750 week (1 week minimum - no rent increase during holidays).
$500 refundable security deposit.
Cancellation: Full refund if 15 days prior to arrival; 50% refund if 5 days prior;
no refund if cancelled on the date of arrival, or for early departure.
Payment: Check; or PayPal, VISA, MC or AMEX (with small additional fee).
50% deposit of total rental fee to confirm reservation.
Cleaning service for additional charge (or save the $ and clean it yourself).

Fairfax not only has family history (John's grandmother and great uncle were some of the 1st Italian immigrants in Fairfax), but it has an unbeatable climate and spectacular scenery. Plus the proximity to San Francisco coupled with the seclusion of the home make it the best of both worlds.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Privacy, solitude, rubbing elbows with nature (we occasionally see deer, raccoons, skunks and opossums right over our back fence), gardening, entertaining, and hiking right steps from our back door make this a truly unique home.

Both Laura and John are Bay Area natives, Laura having been born and raised in Sunnyvale, and John in Berkeley. While they've lived in a variety of places, both in the U.S. and abroad, they always come back to the best city in the world.
