Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2008
My name is Beth. I'm originally from New Jersey and moved to western NC about 9 years ago. I fell in love with the area because of the nice community of people and the slower-paced lifestyle. I like staying physically active and spend most of my free time hiking, biking, running, skiing and playing with my dog.
Why the Owner Chose Almond
I bought a vacation rental here because I love the area and I want to make it possible for others to appreciate it's value.
The Unique Benefits of this House
The house is located right off the highway, so it's convenient to everything. It's only a half mile from a state-owned recreation area called Tsali, which draws mountain bikers from all over. It's also only a mile or two driving distance from Lake Fontana, which is a gigantic lake that seems to go on forever. The house is located right next to the Nantahala National Forest. It's surrounded by rivers, creeks and forests. It's only 15 miles from the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, the country's most visited park with hundreds of miles of hiking trails. I can't tell you enough how nice of an area this is. You couldn't possibly run out of things to do.
