Great for Family Get-together

Guest: NH grandma (New Hampshire)
Date of Stay: 04/14/12 Review Submitted: 04/24/12

The owner provided guest manual made arriving and staying in this great space very easy. Having a parking space in the garage was an added bonus. We were four adults and two children, ages 3 and 6 and were very comfortable in the apartment. It was clean, spacious and well equipped. We enjoyed cooking dinner on the gas grill one evening and the kids loved watching the street traffic from the balcony. Andersonville is a fun place to spend an afternoon exploring, small stores and good restaurants. We had a car but it would be easy to get around without one. We would not hesitate here again.

Andersonville-VERY FUN!

Guest: Sherry S. (Greenfield, IN)
Date of Stay: 03/28/12 Review Submitted: 04/02/12

We stayed at the Andersonville condo for 4 nights, taking my husband's parents for a much needed vacation. We had never been to the Chicago area called Andersonville but found the area very nice, we felt very safe walking up and down the street each evening and enjoyed the local restaurants and shopping. The condo was very comfortable for our group of 5 and much more spacious than the photos appear. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived and found a garage area for our vehicle. The beds were comfortable, plenty of seating for dining and relaxing. One day we jumped on the city bus that picks up in front of the condo and enjoyed a day downtown visiting Willis Tower and Navy Pier. A short drive down scenic Lake Shore Drive brought us right to the Museum campus. We will definitely be back to visit Chicago and the condo in Andersonville will definitely be our choice again.

Best House ever

Guest: Kathryn W.
Date of Stay: 03/14/12 Review Submitted: 03/23/12

Wow! There is nothing negative that I can say about this house.. The house looks exactly as it is pictured! The owners have every detail planned out in the welcome packet you receive for your arrival (with detailed places to eat, shop, transportation, and entertain yourselves near the area). The city is a 15-20 minute bus ride away... That picks up steps away from the entrance of the guesthouse... The kitchen is furnished with everything you need if you choose to stay in and cook.. Not to mention you have WIFI capability. Surround sound speakers for enjoying a game or listening to some light jazz or the music of your choice.. The patio is very relaxing after a long day of walking around the city streets of Chicago. The master suite shower is to die for. The shower has cacpability to be converted into a sauna. What else can you ask for? I think we all stayed in the shower for several minutes each day. The beds are suppperr comfie... I slept very well each night. And although there aren't tv's in each of the bedrooms, it calls for a great nights rest. This is indeed the place to stay if you are in the Chicago(Andersonville) area.

We LOVE IT

Guest: Wanda (Texas)
Date of Stay: 03/10/12 Review Submitted: 03/19/12

We rented two (2) condos for the weekend. This place is GREAT. You cannot go wrong living here. The condos were furnished nicely, clean, modern, spacious, good location and has all the amenities you could need. The pictures you see on their website is what you actually get and more. The owner is VERY attentive and will respond instantly with any questions or help you might need. Highly Recommend. Better then a hotel, especially if you have kids traveling with you.

Wonderful Accomodations that are easy to book

Guest: Anonymous
Date of Stay: 02/04/12 Review Submitted: 02/13/12

A bunch of us were flying into Chicago to surprise a friend on Super Bowl Sunday. Another VRBO owner referred me to the Andersonville Guest House as their place was booked. I'm very thankful they did as another very pleasant surprise was in store for us. The pictures of the units paint the perfect picture for what you'll be renting. Chic and clean and very comfortable with all the modern ammenities. A garage for our rental and secure entry to the building were bonuses. We had a great view of the skyline from our deck, instructions for how to work the entertainment system, fireplace, etc. were easy to follow, and the units are a short walk to some great bars and restaurants. What I liked most about our trip was the flexibility of the management team in getting us booked on short notice and making our quick trip a smashing success. I have already recommended the Andersonville Guest House to several associates who travel to the area with frequency. It's a great place to stay whether you're visiting Chicago for business, pleasure or both.

What a FIND!

Guest: JH (Vancouver, BC)
Date of Stay: 09/07/11 Review Submitted: 09/19/11

We recently stayed at this 3 bedroom, 2 bath condo. It is just as advertised - beautiful, clean, modern and very close to public transportation. Communication with the owner couldn't have been more efficient from start to finish and I felt they really cared about our comfort. The condo itself was perfect. High ceilings, modern finishes and the steam room in the shower was fantastic! There is no down side to staying here and no way to be disappointed. We would book again in an instant.

Great Cubs Weekend!

Guest: Greg S.
Date of Stay: 08/18/11 Review Submitted: 08/21/11

We decided that Cubs-Cards at Wrigley was a "bucket list" event and with my son and two friends made plans. We arrived at Midway Airport and caught the train (Orange Line to Red Line) to Wrigley Field. From there it was an easy connection to the Clark St. bus, which runs (24 hours a day) right past the condo (only 1.8 mles away). Equally easily reachable from O'Hare (Blue Line to the Lawrence St. bus). Multiple day unlimited passes are available. Very comfortable beds. Top of the line appliances (although we hardly had time to use them). Check-in/departure information was accurate and easy to understand. Hosts were always available and helpful. Neighborhood is great - an easy walk to restaurants, clubs, etc. Thanks for having us!

Plenty of Room & Great Location

Guest: Johnathon W. (Houston, TX, USA)
Date of Stay: 07/02/11 Review Submitted: 07/06/11

We stayed here for 3 nights over July 4th weekend. We had plenty of room for two adults and our three daughters (9, 12 & 15). The bedrooms were large and the master bath shower was luxurious and included a steam shower! The entire unit was tastefully decorated and was very comfortable. The gas grill and the deck was great to enjoy grilling on July 4th! The kitchen was great and had plenty of plates/cups/pots/pans and other utensils to prepare a meal. Easy check-in and check-out process and the owner was very responsive and accommodated us for an early check-in (thank you!). Parking on site was also convenient - parking was in a secure parking garage. The unit is a few blocks away from Andersonville, which is a unique area of Chicago. It was like being in a small town while being in a major city. There were plenty of shops & restaurants to enjoy without the need to drive. A grocery store is located a short drive away. We enjoyed walking around the Andersonville area. This was a great value for the size, amenities, price and location. We would stay here again and we have recommended it to family members.

Beautiful Condo

Guest: John (La Canada, CA)
Date of Stay: 06/27/11 Review Submitted: 07/04/11

My family and I spent five nights here in July and our experience could not have been better. Booking was easy and painless. My questions about the property were answered patiently and courteously by the owner. Once we got there, the unit exceeded our expectations. The photos of the unit represent it perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious it was. Everything was clean and well maintained. I wish I had the master bathroom in my own home. We really enjoyed the balcony that faced east. It was great to sit out there on a warm summer night and take in the atmosphere of the neighborhood. We decided not to rent a car for this trip. The CTA red line train was a 10-12 minute walk from the condo, and the bus stop was a few steps from the front door. We were able to get around very easily with public transportation, making daily trips to downtown and surrounding areas. I'd highly recommend this property and the Andersonville neighborhood.

Great property, excellent location

Guest: Robert A.
Date of Stay: 06/20/11 Review Submitted: 06/29/11

Our family of four (two adults, two teenagers) had an excellent stay at this beautiful property. The condo was clean and very well maintained. Loved the photos of Chicago on the wall. Conveniently located on N Clark with a bus stop nearly at the front door and the "L" station a short walk. A grocery store about a half mile up the street and many restaurants within walking distance or a short bus ride. About a mile and a half north of Wrigley Field. Property owner was very easy to deal with and provided all the information we needed. I've been recommending this property to just about everyone I know. Thanks for making our stay memorable!

Date of Stay: 06/10/11 Review Submitted: 06/15/11

From start to finish, renting this condo was great. The management's prompt and courteous response in setting up our reservation got things off on the right foot. While preparing for our Chicago visit lots of questions came up which were quickly and thoroughly addressed. Even subsequent rental changes were handled without so much as a hiccup. We found the unit to be just as described and photographed. While the housewares provided do not come close to a well equipped home kitchen, they are more than adequate for the average visitor who plans on preparing a few meals. It is also nice that you don't have to worry about supplying things such as coffee filters, dishwasher detergent, etc. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms squeaky clean. We loved the outdoor space and utilized it quite a bit. The unit was so light and spacious - the high ceilings made it feel huge. Having the garage with our own door opener was really nice. Being just south of Andersonville turned out to be a real bonus for us as the Andersonville Midsommarfest was going on the weekend of our visit. Hopleaf Bar and Ann Sather's, both recommended as part of the condo Welcome Packet, were wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend this property to a friend or relative. Plans are already being discussed for a return visit!

Terrific location just south of Andersonville neighborhood with lots of terrific restaurants/bakeries and just 0.6 miles to Argyle stop on the "L." Nice to be in a neighborhood. View of downtown Chicago from the 4S balcony. Needed access to Loyola and Wrigley and this was perfect! Will stay here again.

Absolutely Fabulous!

Date of Stay: 01/05/11 Review Submitted: 01/15/11

I am from Chicago and grew up in the Uptown neighborhood. My family owned a restaurant in Andersonville. We recently lost a beloved family member and had to fly in to Chicago for the funeral. With only two days notice we were fortunate enough to find this Andersonville property available. The owner returned my call within the hour and made the reservation process smooth and easy. The condo itself was absolutely fabulous, high end every step of the way. The garage parking and fireplace were a welcome plus as we stayed from January 5 through 9 and got the snow we wanted! The Swedish Bakery is only a five minute car ride away and there were lots of restaurants and bars nearby. We could see the old Uptown Theatre from our balcony which brought on lots of great stories from days gone by. If you are looking for the perfect place to stay...THIS IS IT!

Great location/comfortable condo

Guest: jb (Vermont)
Date of Stay: 11/23/10 Review Submitted: 12/12/10

This new condo, at the southern edge of Andersonville was the perfect place for our needs. It is very clean and uncluttered and also comfortable. Our daughter lives just 2 1/2 blocks away and my mother lives in Evanston. We wanted a place where we could reciprocate to the the friends and family who so often have us over. This place was perfect. The dining room table expands to seat 12 (though some guests will need to bring chairs). The kitchen is stocked with cooking utensils, pots and pans. We strolled up Clark Avenue on Black Friday and enjoyed the wonderful shops and festive atmosphere. I would highly recommend the restaurant Ceres' Table which is, perhaps, two doors north of this condo. You don't even need to throw on a coat! Dealing with the owner was very clear. Loved having a garage for the car. I couldn't think of one way to improve this condo. Highly recommended. We will return.

Excellent Accommodations in Andersonville

Guest: Gina (Long Island, NY)
Date of Stay: 10/19/10 Review Submitted: 10/27/10

My husband and I stayed here recently with our 10 month old son and had a wonderful experience. We are transplanted Chicagoans, and this building is near one of our old neighborhoods, so we felt right at home. The unit was perfect for our needs - very spacious, great amenities and conveniences, nicely decorated and furnished, clean and well maintained, and a good place to entertain visitors as well as house a baby. Everything in the unit and the building functioned properly (appliances, elevator, garage door, etc.). The property manager was very courteous and professional - all of our comunications were prompt and polite, my questions were answered, and the check-in process was flawless. There are nice restaurants, shops and bars near by, as well as access to many modes of transportation - the included parking garage space was a major bonus. We will definitely stay here again on future trips to Chicago, it was a perfect home away from home.

After a seven month road trip traveling through South, Central & North America, we had experienced the full spectrum of accommodations, from the lows of a metallic picnic table in Death Valley to the extraordinary highs of this amazing apartment a short metro ride away from Chicago’s downtown. Equipped with 3 double bedrooms, lounge, kitchen and most importantly a shower that can only be described as an all purpose aqua experience, we had well and truly lucked out in finding this place.

We stayed here for four nights in August. We were two couples, each with a baby and this layout suited us perfectly. The apartment was easy to access and had an elevator. Having free parking on-site was so convenient. We had everything we needed to cook meals and the BBQ grill on the balcony was a great bonus. The furnishings were stylish and new and the decor is bright and airy. Andersonville has great shopping and cute restaurants, so while this apartment is very far from the Loop and some downtown attractions, there is more than enough to do in the area and you can feel more like a local.

A fantastic place on North Clark St.

Guest: Tim (the Netherlands)
Date of Stay: 08/01/10 Review Submitted: 09/01/10

We ( family of 4 from the Netherlands ) stayed at the condo on the 4th floor for 1 whole month ( August 2010 ) and absolutely loved it. The condo is very well equipped and well maintained. Dave was the easiest and most forthcoming of "temporary landlords" we have dealt with in various rentals in the past years. All instructions were perfectly in order and any issues were taken care of immediately. The cleaning was carried out to perfection ( has to be arranged and paid for separately ). The location ( just south of Andersonville, is perfect for visiting relatives/friends ( both in town, to the north and/or west ), shopping the "Mag Mile" and enjoying the Windy City as a whole. The neighborhood itself is a really pleasant experience with an enormous selection of restaurants, shops and other interesting places. The beach at Foster Avenue is only a short drive away. We would definitely recommend this place and this location to anybody who wants to enjoy a nice vacation or short break in Chicago and wants to have "a place of their own'' even if it is only for a short while.

This is a nice unit in an up and coming area. Safe to walk to shops grab a bite to eat. It has all the comforts of home just on a smaller scale, if you're coming from a house instead of a condo. Management was easy to work with and making arrangements for payment was easy. Great city view from the balcony. Parking came in handy. With just a few minor adjustments this was a great stay. Would do it again......

We often drive or fly to Chicago from Kansas City, and usually stay in Andersonville. This was our first stay in this condo, and it was absolutely terrific. Roomy, clean, comfortable, safe neighborhood, I can't come up with enough positive comments about the place. Since we drove this time, it was really convenient having a private garage, although pretty much everything we needed was within easy walking distance. If you're looking at several options for your Chicago trip, look no further. You'll love this place, I guarantee it!

Good Value - But Beware for Noise

Guest: Tenorman (Dallas, TX)
Date of Stay: 05/28/10 Review Submitted: 08/11/10

Stayed several nights in late May. The location was convenient for us. Garage parking a definite plus in this neighborhood (limited street parking). Easy access to restaurants and grocery stores. Room was spacious, modern and well equipped. Our only gripe was the noise from adjoining apartment. They had some kind of celebration that went on til way in the morning, and the walls in this building are paper thin. There actually aren't that may common walls between units, so the level of sound was surprising. We heard every conversation (and argument) they had while they were waiting for the elevator . . .

The location was perfect - close to bus/train lines and easy to navigate on foot to shops and restaurants in adorable Andersonville. We even walked to the lake and back. The condo was smartly decorated, cozy, clean and appointed with everything we needed to make our stay easy and incredibly comfortable. It felt like home away from home. My family is extremely picky and used to staying in nice accommodations. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and would recommend it highly.

Great rental in Chicago

Date of Stay: 10/16/09 Review Submitted: 10/27/09

I must give Dave top marks for communication, organization, and just being a pleasant guy to deal with. All the directions were clear, we arrived tired, at night, yet had no difficulties finding the garage, apartment, codes and keys. Great to have a garage. So much better than staying in a hotel! Tasteful decor- everything clean and new. Everything you need for cooking, can openers, corkscrew, even extra blankets. The shower in the master bath is a work of art, the sauna feature was a hit. We stayed on the top floor, at Dave's suggestion, and it was quite private and quiet. The small balcony with table and chairs and large grill (which we were too busy to use), was a treat, with a lovely sunset reflected on the high rise windows in the distance. Andersonville is quite a nice neighborhood for walking, shopping, and great restaurants. Making a left out of the apartment, if you walk past the Swedish museum, there is a middle eastern restaurant with the best Sunday brunch. We would have enjoyed having more time just to explore the neighborhood. Although driving in Chicago can be time consuming, having a minivan with 7 adults to move around worked out well for us, so the garage included in the rental was a great benefit. It's not hard to get downtown from this location by car and there is plenty of pay parking downtown. Not cheap- but hey, this is to be expected in a big city. We were really impressed by Chicago. If you like the blues, don't miss Buddy Guy's place. The architectural tour on the river is also great. I would recommend this rental to anyone who does not feel they have to be in the middle of the city all the time. Very high end. Thanks Dave

I really stress out when i am looking for a place to stay. Especially when i'm not familiar with the area, as i have in the past been very upset with my decision. Well not in this case. For once the description and pictures of this property were accurate. Everyone was so happy with the choice i made. There were 7 of us and the condo was so spacious we weren't running over each other all the time. The condo provided everything we needed and also everything was so clean. Wasn't a very far walk from the bus stop. We bought passes as we only took our vehicle out 1 day. We felt very safe in the area as there was not any undesirable looking people hanging around. We done so much that our 6 days in chicago went by way to fast. There are so many fine restaurants to choose from not once did any of us complain about our food. Here are a few of the attractions we took in, a cubs game, willis tower we still call it sears tower, museum of science and industry, buckingham fountain, millennium park, and we also took a tour of wrigley field and that was awesome. Dave was so very nice to talk with. As i was trying to decide were to stay i emailed him a couple of times before making my decision and he returned my emails promptly. I would recommend this property. Would most definitely stay here again.

This condo had everything stated in the promo. It is brand new and had everything we could possibly need! The location looked a bit iffy on Google Earth but was, in fact, in an interesting and walkable neighborhood. The El was about 1/2 mile, give or take, so depending on who is in your party, you may prefer to have a car. Driving in Chicago is not delightful while the public transportation is very efficient. I worked with Dave throughout the transaction. He was very helpful, prompt and kind.

My six kids, my wife, and I were fortunate to have found this brand new condo to spend our 10-day vacation in Chicago. The place was immaculately clean and very spacious. "First rate accomodations" is how I would describe it. The owners were excellent in getting us situated quickly. We felt safe all around the area. The location of the condo is ideal to reach Chicago neighborhoods as well as downtown. The local neighborhood is one of the trendiest new places in Chicago so we had access to a lot of nice eateries. The kids loved their rooms and the rest of amenities. I would definitely come back to rent from Dave and I will recommend this to friends visiting Chicago.

Wow. Amazing space. My wife and 2 daughters (4 and 2) are in town for the month. We looked at a lot of places and this one is by far superior. It's nicer than our own home. The managers are very friendly. They've made this a very high end space. Very comfortable, spacious and luxurious. Beds are comfy and the design is ... well, designed. Not thrown together over the years. The Andersonville neighborhood is great. Great breakfast, bars, restaurants. Close to the different transportation lines, Metra, Red Line. Seems gay friendly, which makes us feel like we're back in San Francisco. There's not a thing lacking here. We love it!
