Villa Pimenta is a fully refurbished private luxury villa with the most spectacular panoramic Caribbean Ocean views set on .5 acres of tropical landscaped grounds. In season the Villa can produce bananas, mangos, pineapples, coconut and a host of colourful tropical shrubs including a muliti coloured array of Borganvilla, Oleander, Hibiscus, Yellow Bells, and a spectacular Flamboyant tree.
Villa Pimenta is the botanical name for the Caribbean plant better known as Allspice!
Internally and externally everything is new. The furnishings were selected for your luxury comfort but above all for their Caribbean flair. As soon as you open the doors to Villa Pimenta you are struck by the spectacular ocean vista. These unobstructed views can be enjoyed from the spacious living area, the large covered patio and from the beautiful poolside patio.
The villa is open and airy with vaulted ceilings and hand made terracotta tiles throughout. Ceiling fans and louvered windows allow the rooms to be kept cool by the trade winds. Montserrat Villas do not need air conditioning.
There is a large well equipped kitchen, locally handcrafted from red cedar, and it is open to the living area inside and out. Whether you plan on cooking a gourmet meal or using the BBQ you will find what you need.
The master bedroom with King size bed is huge, opening onto the covered patio and leading to the beautifully inviting 32 ft pool. The en suite has a very spacious walk in shower, and there is walk in dressing room .
The guest twin bedroom and second bathroom are separated from the master suite by the living area. The pretty bedroom has lovely ocean views, and you will be lulled to sleep by the sound of waves. There is a third small sleeping area with bunk beds.
There is also a ground floor suite with queen bed, and single Z bed, en suite shower room, sitting room and small kitchenette. Lovely garden and ocean views. This can be rented with the main house, or separately for USD 75.00 a night.
Around the newly refinished pool there are 6 sun loungers. The covered patio has comfy prettily covered wicker furnishings for relaxing in and enjoying the view as you chill with a cool refreshing drink.
Villa Pimenta has a TV, DVD player, stereo, and a growing collection of books DVDs and music for your enjoyment.
Villa Pimenta is professionally managed. Airport and ferry pick up, car hire, provisions can all be arranged. There will be plenty of information at the villa regarding grocery stores, banking, and restaurants. Housekeeping is provided, and there are laundry facilities at the villa.
Montserrat is "a Caribbean treasure, spectacular by nature" and it is truly so. It has a rich history, and there are excellent local guides who will show you their island home including a visit to see the "modern day Pompeii" that was once the busy capital city of Plymouth. In 1995 the Soufriere Hills Volcano came to life and the city is now buried in ash.
Montserrat is a British Colony with British Governor General. AIR Studios back in the 80's, built by Sir George Martin, were a huge draw to some world famous musicians including Sir Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, The Police, The Rolling Stones, Elton John, to name but a few. The studios were moved to London, but Sir George and his wife maintained their home in Montserrat and with the support of many artists worked tirelessly to raise funds for the building of the cultural and community centre that was opened by HRH Prince of Wales and his wife in 2008.
There is something for everyone on Montserrat. Numerous hiking trails for all levels, and guides can be arranged. There are 33 species of birds to be 'spotted' and through August and September the Green Turtle, the Hawksbill, and the Loggerhead turtles come ashore to lay their eggs on the beach.
There are a number of excellent dive centres offering instruction and tours in the pristine waters around the island. Snorkeling may be your choice, and again tours and equipment rental if you require, are available, as are kayaks.
Many large game fish can be found in the local waters, charter boats and tours are available. Or you can join the locals along the shoreline and try your luck.
Bikes can be rented, horse riding is offered, and a very well respected resident photographer offers a number of courses a year.
The shimmering volcanic sandy beaches are usually deserted. There will be no one trying to sell you beads or tours! The people of Montserrat are the friendliest you will meet anywhere in the world. Always ready with a smile a wave and happy to share a joke. Crime is almost unheard of.

"A fantastic adventure in comfortable surroundings. Hot! Hot! Hot" The villa was fantastic! We could view the volcano from the balcony while eating on the back deck or swimming in the pool. Beds were extremely comfortable and overall the villa was well equipped and clean. A car is needed, but this allows you to drive to the various lookouts to see more views of the volano, and also visit the Montserrat Volcano Observatory, which is only a few minutes away. Great meals at the Gourmet Gardens and fantastic food at Ziggy's. Even got to meet Sir George Martin! And of course one cannot forget Picket (the manager) who was always available to answer questions and take care of us when we needed him. I will visit Montserrat again, and would stay at Pimenta without any hesitation

heaven on Montserrat" The house is beautiful more then the pictures show, the view is fantastic: the volcano on the left, the sea on the right you're never tired to watch it! Everything that you can think of you have it, we could even watch the hockey games on the internet!!! You have to have a car, the supermarket are not great, but you can survive if you dont expect to find gourmet food. The people of the island are very nice and smiling and helpful in anyway. It was a great relaxing vacation, thank you for sharing your house with us.

Breathtaking views from spacious luxury" Booked this lovely villa hassle free and was very pleasantly surprised when I arrived. The photos don't give you the sense of space that's really there. There was a lovely welcome note, information on the villa and area and an itinerary of events for the St. Patrick's day festival left by the neighbour Susan who manages the property. The master bedroom is very comfortable and large and the ensuite bathroom has a shower room you could party in! The second (twin) bedroom has 2 very comfortable beds next to the main bathroom. The apartment below is a spacious secluded living area and is ideal if there is more than 3 in your party. It has a double bed and another fold away idea that can be placed in the living area. The pool is positioned perfectly to catch the sun all day and is great for cooling off if you start to feel the heat. The villa has no Air Conditioning as it is unnecessary with the cool breeze that continually blows on the island and throughout the house when the windows are open. The veranda boasts a large wicker table and chairs that can sit 6 comfortably or more if you squeeze up and cooking is easy with a great range of utensils in the kitchen and the oversize cooker and microwave yet the piece de resistance is the massive gas barbeque on the veranda. The view from the veranda is astounding from the volcano on your left to the beach and non-stop Caribbean sea to the right. This villa is definitely worth staying in, yet if you want to see all of the island a car is absolutely necessary as it is quite far south close to the exclusion zone. We will be back!!

We motor-sailed on the owner's boat from Antigua and saw a turtle, dolphins, and whales on the way there & back! The villa is fantastic - beautifully decorated and with a view to die for: how can you argue with full volcano vue on the left and miles of ocean on the right with the old golf course in the middle. Rooms are spacious, with views, and lovely and the kitchen well-stocked and huge. Hosts Joanne and Ian were gracious and informative and gave us a wonderful tour of the island. We were grateful for a dip in the pool after our walk along the local beach (just a few minutes walk from the villa). Dinner with local characters one evening was icing on the cake. We will definitely recommend Villa Pimenta to friends visiting Montserrat. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"A Dream Vacation!" Couldn't ask for a better place to wake up on Christmas morning or a better place to bring in the New Year. This villa is simply beautiful and breathtaking from the moment you walk through the door. The decor is superb and the villa is so well-equipped for a home away from home. It is so welcoming and comfortable, especially the large open rooms. Thank god for the stunning view from the balcony to pull you out of bed in the morning. The grounds are spectacular. You have done an extraordinary job of anticipating the needs of your guests. Bravo for a delightful stay!

getting away from it all" We are a family of three, with a 6 year old girl. We were looking for a " spicy" place to get around... Villa Pimenta is definitly the place to go...The view from the villa is spectacular as well as the people living on the island. (Winston and Susan you're on top of the list!!!). The friendliness of the Montserrati's is unheard of and getting around is as easy as 1-2-3. Renting a car is a good idea especially if you have young kids. If you're looking for eco-tourism, the caribeean adventure without the resorts and hassle free vacation, Villa Pimenta is definitly the place to go for...The next time (yes the next time!!!) we will bring a bug net for our child. Thank you so much!!!

Montserrat was a real treasure trove! It is an easy fifteen minute or so flight over on a nine passenger twin engine Islander high wing STOL plane (watch your luggage weight as there is a 23 kilo cap!) Villa Pimenta (The Orange Villa) is really special – totally renovated with spectacular views of the Volcano (Soufriere, which is still venting) the ocean and everything in between. Mr. T (Winston) was there to pick me up and also is the best tour guide for an island tour. He rents cars too and driving here is much quieter and easier than Antigua. Again, people asked why go to Montserrat, as there is nothing to do. Precisely! You have to make your own way but there a lot of expats about, there are some fine restaurants to enjoy, the prices most fair, and while the expats grumble about having to “forage” at various food stores, you won’t starve and it is really fun to get back to basic cooking from scratch. The people are really friendly, and Susan, the owner’s property manager lives right next door and is very accommodating. The Villa has three separate sleeping quarters all with en suites, so it can handle three couples with ease. There is no AC and it is not needed, and the pool is the place where you can really cool off. I was so impressed with Montserrat that I re-booked and am heading back there the first two weeks of January, 2011. My recommendation, if you want to get away from it all, to become calm, to relax, Vila Pimenta is for you. You are not isolated, as the Villa has cable TV and Wi-Fi. The kitchen has everything you will need plus the BBQ on the deck is a man’s delight I decided when I come down in January to bypass Antigua – I will simply land, clear customs, and hop on Fly Montserrat and be at home by six o’clock the same day. Villa Pimenta in Montserrat is an “out of the way must.” You will enjoy it immensely and I give it a five star rating.
