This quaint upscale cottage duplex is located in the heart of Sanibel Island yet very private and secluded. 'The Getaway' is one block from Sanibel's famous shell laden white sand beaches.

The island bike path is located directly across the street as well as restaurants, antique and shell shops are walking distance. Newly refurbished in 2009 this large 1/1 cottage is tastefully decorated with a 'beach cottage/shabby chic' style interior.

This unit has it all- comfy slip cover sofas, 40 inch plasma screen television, DVD/VCR players, bedroom television, quality king size bed, cable and high speed Internet, pull out sofa bed in living room, fully equipped kitchen(no dishwasher), linens, telephone with free local and long distance and two screened in furnished porches.

For your added pleasure and use we have on site two beach cruiser bikes and kid carrier, propane BBQ, games and movies, a picnic basket, beach chairs, boogie board, skim board, rafts, beach umbrella and washer and dryer on premises.

We are dog friendly but do not allow cats due to owner allergy issues. No dangerous breeds will be allowed. Renters wishing to bring their well behaved pet will be subject to a additional pet fee of $20.00 per night and must sign a pet addendum.

  • From the moment you arrive at the guest cottages on Donax street you will feel like you just escaped to the most perfect little beach house. The location of the cottage is perfect. You are close to all the shopping and a very short walk to the beach. There are bikes, great amenities for kids, loads of movies stocked in the unit and it is furnished with the very best of taste. The well appointed cottage has flat screen tvs, internet service, new grills, the most comfortable bed, lovely linens and just about everything you can image to make your stay your home away from home. We had the best time during our stay. We found incredible seashells, and were able to kick back and enjoy our beautiful surroundings in Sanibel. It is close to impossible to find such a well decorated and well appointed place when you rent a home or stay in a hotel. This place looks and feels like it jumped off the pages of a magazine! The owners thought of everything to make our stay comfortable, easy and fun. There was even a washer and dryer so we could wash our laundry! I cannot say enough nice things about the rental and frankly we cannot wait to go back.

  • we stayed recently and from the moment we entered the cottage it was a different world! everything was adorable and comfortable like your own home but away with the ocean air and walking distance to everything we rode bikes we played board games and there toys for the baby for the beach too!! so much thought went into everything from the coffee mugs to the board games in the closet to the ralph lauren comforter and soothing pale blue tinted walls. it was so much better than staying in a hotel! when i went to sleep at night the fans with the starfish hanging from them were the last things i saw- we will be taking the whole family back!! totally worth everything! you florida folks know how to decorate entertain and provide luxury in a modest peaceful and memorable way!!
