Odd Couple - Still Comfortable

I stayed in the house with 3 other (and one week 4 other) male coworkers of mine. We had 5 adult males staying in the house and were still quite comfortable. We were working in Charlevoix and decided to rent a house due to our structure for travel expenses. We were excited at the fact of saving money and making our own dinners, opposed to eating out like we normally have to do. It was nice to have a grill and grocery store right around the corner. It was a little cold, but that is to be expected in October in northern Michigan. She was a very helpful/gracious host. We never had the chance to meet up with her too much because either she or we were quite busy. Pros: Three bedrooms, grocery store across the street, free wifi, great host, washer/dryer, dishwasher. Cons: Only TV is outdated. Anyone staying here would undoubtedly enjoy themselves.
Owner response:Loved having the guys stay at the house. To comment on the tv....there use to be a flat screen tv when we started vacation rentals however it broke after 2 years...with no replacement parts made anymore we havent replaced it yet with another flat screen. There is a large color TV in the house with great picture quality. If a flat screen tv is important to you on your vacation...please contact me...as we might have purchased a new one by your holiday. Hopefully you're out enjoying the area instead of watching tv during your stay.

A perfect house for a family with young kids!

This house was ideal for our family. Everything is clean and uncluttered, and the house is quiet enough that the adults could stay up and watch a movie without waking up the kids. Our 3-year-old loved helping out in the kitchen while still being able to keep an eye on the action in the living room, and our 1-year-old enjoyed walking laps around the kitchen, dining area, and living room. This rental had everything we needed but nothing extra, so we didn't have to spend time moving knickknacks out of reach. The very best thing is that after a long drive, you don't need to get in your car again! The backyard is lovely and private, and there are multiple beaches within walking distance. The beach at the end of Chicago Dr is beautiful and has a nice playground, but we also walked into town and visited beaches on the big lake. Thanks, Leilani, for a relaxing getaway!

A Week in Charlevoix with Our Two Teenage Granddaughters

What a delight to open the cottage door and see that it looked even better than depicted in the online pictures. From the decor, which initially attracted me to investigate the property further, to the completely stocked kitchen (including every appliance, dish, pot, and utensil anyone could possibly want), to the extremely clean and well maintained interior, complete with a washer and dryer and DVD player, the cottage met all of our needs beautifully. The distance to town was an easy walk for the girls and, once they discovered Sadie and Jake's coffee shop, they were hooked each morning for their coffee adventure. One of the girls is a runner and was able to plot out a few 4 and 6 mile runs that took her into some beautiful neighborhoods and she was able to see more of Charlevoix than my husband and I on our minimal walks to town, around and back--and we felt comfortable with her safety, even at 6AM. The owner was extremely helpful, personable, and available to answer any questions we had. She also provided information on the community with suggestions of places to explore such as McSauba Beach, which included a wonderful environment in which to look for Petoskey stones. Charlevoix is located relatively close to Traverse City and Petoskey, so if one "hankers" for a larger city experience and/or more choices of restaurants, one does not have to travel too far. We especially enjoyed dining at the Edgewater Bistro in Charlevoix and dined there twice during our stay. I am an art lover and spent time going to neighboring communities checking out any and all galleries available. If you enjoy gallery hopping, try and visit Glen Arbor (south of Charlevoix) as it is wonderful. We also happened to be there for the once a year waterfront art show and it was fantastic! All in all it was an excellent vacation in a very special cottage; I would recommend the property to anyone of any age!

We had a lovely time at the cottage recently. We came to town with one teenage daughter, plus an 11 year old son and 9 year old daughter. With the age differences it is sometimes hard for us to get a place that pleases everyone...The place was much larger than we expected, with a huge kitchen and living area. We were so impressed when we first walked in with the amount of room there was and the beautiful decor! The bedrooms were also nicely decorated and a perfect size for us to spread out. We enjoyed a nice weekend visiting family and looked forward each afternoon to heading back to the cottage to refresh ourselves and have a little relaxing down time. Thanks for a great weekend. We will definitely be staying at the cottage again.

In our annual vacation to Charlevoix (where my husband grew up) we have stayed in more than a few places. This little cottage is absolutely one of our favorites. As a-matter-of-fact, we already booked in for a couple of weeks next summer. Its a great size for a family of four. Love having a washer and dryer! and the kitchen is very well equipped. We could also walk in to town and depot beach. It doesnt get better than this!
