My family of 4 stayed at this condo over the Christmas holiday. It was perfect for our family (and could have supported a few more, if we wanted). We decided to avoid the 9 hour drive (and possible dicey weather) and took the California Zephyer Amtrak passenger train directly from our hometown in Nebraska to Granby. It was an awesome decision - the train ride was peaceful and beautiful, and the train station in Granby is less than 5 miles from the resort. We rented a car and it was delivered to us at the train station by the company right when we arrived. They also picked it up at the station when we departed...it was perfect. During our stay, we scheduled two 1/2 day ski lessons at Sol Vista on the advice of Steve, the condo owner. It worked out great, as everyone got to practice in the afternoon before the next lesson. My husband (ski) and son (snowboard) were going down the big mountain by the end of the second day. We were lucky enough to have Steve as our ski instructor on the second day. He was very good and really got my husband up and going! The condo was very clean with two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, a pit sofa, huge dining table, fireplace and Christmas tree. There was a TV in the living room that my son could hook up his X-box to and a small TV in the master bedroom. My daughter would have liked a TV in the second bedroom as well, but she ended up sleeping on the couch to keep up her teenage hours. There was also an excellent array of cooking equipment. I made a big pot of chili in the crockpot one night, and cooked dinner one night and had everything I needed. I do recommend that you stop by the CityMarket grocery store first and pick up a few essentials - we did have to buy garbage bags and some cleaning wipes, since we were there for almost 5 days. We also visited the Devil's Thumb Ranch Christmas day for a lovely dinner, a couple of spa appointments for the girls and a sleigh ride/feed the herd activity for the boys. The ranch is a great day getaway if you don't want to ski every day...they had a lot of activities, including nordic skiing, ice skating, etc. I highly recommend this condo (and Steve) to anyone looking for a fun winter getaway. We are looking at coming back in the summer as well for a different experience.

We had a wonderful week's stay and loved every minute even though it rained a couple of days. It is close to Grand Lake and the west side of Rocky Mountain Park. Steve recommended animal viewing in the evening and we did just that! The elk were everywhere and easy to view and just enjoy nature at it's best. Even saw a couple of moose, deer and marmot's. Enjoyed dinner at the Rocky Mountain Lodge and the new theatre in Grand Lake. The condo was great and we enjoyed just relaxing in a beautiful location. Could not have asked for a better vacation location.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon at the end of June through the beginning of July. It was absolutely wonderful. There was plenty of things to do around the area and because of the location it was easy to get to Winterpark or even up to Grand Lake. The condo was very clean, quiet, and just a nice place to relax. The views from the condo was amazing and we even had a bird nest in the birdhouse on the deck while we were there. We will definetly be back.

You notice that everyone has given this property an excellent rating, perhaps you wonder if this is all true. No complaint, can it be to good to be true. Well I did complain to Steve about the Internet connection not being good enough. The next day there was a knock on the door and three individuals stood at my door wanting to solve my problem. Within hours the only clinch in the perfect armor was fixed. Sorry, forget the unbelievable view from the living room, the amazing space and utilizes for the price. Forget all this when you compare it to the hospitality that was extended to me during my stay. This was and is what makes this rental a true 5 star property, that I can guarantee you will be worth your money. Thank you Steve and Susan for allowing me to stay in such a special place. Oh and by the way I stayed for an extra 2 days because I just did not want to leave and actually I asked for 5 but it was already booked.

Great view, clean condo, cozy. The owner was a pleasure to deal with. Had a great time at the ski area, our 4 year old son went to the ski school for one day and was skiing on greens within 2 days. The ski school at Sol Vista is excellent for children and adults. Had a great time, we highly recommend this condo for your stay!

Hi Steve, We truly enjoyed our stay in Granby at your condo; it was all the summary on vrbo.com said it would be. It was spotless, comfortable, homey, the view from the living room and deck was lovely, and most of all it was exactly what we needed. It was wonderful to have a dining table big enough for all eight of us to sit at - we used the two stools from the breakfast bar and there was still plenty of room for all of us. Thanks for the suggestion of trying out the recreation center in Fraser. We stayed there for two hours and only used the pool area, but we all had a great time on the big water slide, the hot spa, and the lazy river. Your recommendation for dinner at the Brickhouse 40 in Granby was spot-on. The menu was varied, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent! Our drive home through Rocky Mountain National Park was breathtaking; and we had multiple moose sightings right off the road including one group of 8. Some great pictures for show and tell at school for our 9 year old grandson! You can be sure that when we visit Granby next time we'll return to your condo, and we'll recommend it to anyone heading up that way!

Very well maintained and decorated condo with beautiful views of the mountains from the deck and living room! The kitchen was nicely updated and equipped. We stayed with another couple and had plenty of room to spread out. The area around the condo has a lot to offer both summer and winter. We enjoyed hiking up to and around the gazebo across the valley. If you like to golf, there is a golf course just down the street. Plus, there is a grocery store, gas station, and liquor store nearby. Winter Park is only about 20 minutes south and Grand Lake is about 20 minutes north of Granby, with Rocky Mountain National Park just north of Grand Lake. Easy access to everything. A great condo for a weekend getaway or a week if you're lucky to get away that long!

We’ve stayed at various houses in Grand Lake and Granby for the past 5 years. By comparison this condo is a real gem. Most of the big rental houses are super expensive ($1,500 - $2,500 a week). None we’ve stayed in – have this condo’s beautiful western view. Down below the deck, we saw foxes, deer, back packers and mountain bikers. The swimming pool and tennis court are also unique among rentals. The location is ideal because Grand Lake, Granby and Winter Park are an easy drive. One of the area’s two large grocery stores is only a few minutes away. The office for the condominiums is only a few steps away. Compare that to trying to reach out-of-town house owners when something goes wrong. For those who love flying fishing this is a heavenly location. It’s only a few minutes to the headwaters of the Colorado, Monarch Lake and the stream that runs out of the lake. I’ve fished at a dozen areas in Colorado and never found better fly fishing. And unlike other gold medal waters – you won’t be fishing with a whole crowd of other fisherman.
