At night the stars blanket the sky and lights of passing freighters dance along Haro Strait below. On foggy nights you can hear the distant call of the Limekiln State Park lighthouse foghorn. The Suite is a wing of my private residence which is situated on a very tranquil twenty acres of forestland and glacial scoured meadows.

Year Purchased: 1987
As a an educator and writer I travel extensively. When I am home I get the feeling of continued travel by hosting people in my guest suite. I enjoy facilitating guests vacations and helping them get the most out of their time on the island. As a long term resident of San Juan Island I have plenty of suggestions for activities! I raised my family here at Sunny Knoll, and I enjoy hosting families with children and seeing them explore and play around the mountain top.
Why the Owner Chose Friday Harbor
I grew up in Portland, Oregon and up my family would charter sailboats in the islands in the summers. I thought the San Juan Islands were paradise, and I moved here at age 24 to live my dream life. I can't imagine ever moving away from my private mountain paradise. After my children left home I opened the Guest Suite so others could enjoy this special place.
