Situated on a 105-acre working organically managed farm this newly renovated farmhouse is a perfect home away from home. Tranquil setting with amazing views in every season and located in Walpole, New Hampshire, said to be one of the most picturesque towns in all of New England.
On the first floor of the Farmhouse there is a large kitchen, a living room with satellite TV and VCR/DVD players, a full bathroom, and one bedroom with a king-sized bed. On the second floor are two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed and one with two twin beds, as well as a bathroom with a shower stall. There is a sofa bed in the living room on the first floor which could sleep two additional guests. With southern exposure the rooms are always bright and airy.
We stock Sunnyside's kitchen with breakfast basics (milk, juice, coffee, tea, cereal) to get you started. This is a self-catering accommodation, so breakfast is not included as it is for our Inn guests. Farmhouse guests do have access to the bounty of our extensive organically managed gardens, and our pasture-raised meats and farm fresh eggs are available for purchase.

We stayed at the Sunnyside farmhouse with our 2 kids ages 2 and 5 and the grandparents, and had a great time! We really enjoyed being close up with the animals (I especially loved waking up to see the cows grazing just outside our window, and our kids especially loved the pigs). I liked teaching them where our food comes from and we all learned more about sustainable farming. As a family run inn and farm, we felt very welcomed. Thank you, Jackie and Caitlin! The farmhouse was clean and it was nice to cook most of our meals in the kitchen. We bought chickens and beef raised there on the farm to cook and enjoy! A specialty local market and a bigger supermarket are close by. Our kids also really liked the little playground. The view from the farmhouse of the hills dotted with color and the pastures was beautiful. Alyson's apples being right next door was fantastic. We did a lot of apple picking. Location wise, I was so pleased. Being from the west coast, I had no idea what to expect, but Walpole is such a cute, quintessential New England town and the Monadnock region is just ideal for viewing fall foliage. Though we were told it wasn't a great year for colors, it was still so beautiful. We didn't have to travel very far to see covered bridges, visit an organic dairy farm or go hiking. You can go on a beautiful hike right on the farm's property, in fact! In addition, you have easy access to VT as Walpole lies right along the Connecticut river. If we had more time and the hurricaine hadn't taken out some of the roads, we definitely would've spent more time in VT as well. Bottom line, I highly recommend Inn at Valley Farms if you want to relax, enjoy nature and organic farming and explore the surrounding areas.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

We had an absolutely wonderful wedding on the farm. The Inn, cottages and farmhouse were all very much a part of the joy! Jackie worked so hard and Chris and Caitlin became good friends as we bonded outside under the stars. It was everything we had hoped it would be and more! Thank you.Did you find this review helpful? We were able to stay Monday to Sunday and loved every minute of it. I slept the best I have ever slept in my life here without any congestion for the first time in my adult life. We took note of all the organic cleaners and toiletries as well as the amazingly comfortable bedding. The views are gorgeous, the place wonderful in every way, and we loved Sam and Henry too. We came a long way, but it was worth it. We are already planning when we can come back. Thank you for your generous hospitality. This was a place of rest and peace to recharge our batteries. The eggs are delicious. Thank you for everything!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This has been a great sisters get together. We enjoyed visiting the surrounding towns from Brattleboro to Lyme. Even spent a day on the AT (Appalachian Trail). The farmhouse has been a great accommodation for us - more than met our expectations. Thanks for letting us stay!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1998
About the owner: I am an innkeeper/organic gardener/farmer and love staying home and caring for my family and guests. The farmhouse is a recent addition to our inn's lodging options offering greater independence and flexibility. Family, gardening, cooking, and photography are all passions I enjoy sharing with others. Cows, chickens, turkeys, pigs, lamb, cats and cashmere goats make their home on our farm too.
Why the Owner Chose Walpole:
My family purchased this property in 1998 to save it from development and instantly fell in love. We're passionate about restoring the many buildings and gardens, farming the land sustainably and sharing our passion with others. Green rolling hills, amazing views, and natural beauty abound. It's a very special piece of property in a special community - an area that has been a draw for visual and literary artists for centuries.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Being situated on 105 acres there are no close neighbors so light and noise pollution is minimal at best. Days are quiet and peaceful (you can actually hear the birds sing) and night skies are clear, dark, and filled with amazing stars. Yet the property is still located in an ideal location allowing you easy access to all the region has to offer. You can choose to do as little or as much as you want to during your visit. Walpole itself is a charming village with many special hidden treasures including some of the world's best chocolate, specialty cheese makers, unique shops, a golf course, and free concerts on the common Sunday evenings during July and August.
