Our week at this house was relaxing. That being said I do want to add a few comments. The add says this cabin has a sand beach and swimming area, however you find once you get up there the 'beach' is a small 8 ft by 6 ft area(I didn't actually measure it} with grass removed and a load of sand being dumped there.The swimming area for our kids was a sand bar about 200 yds from shore....the area around the 'beach' was weedy and dirty. The accomodations for the cabin are in our opinion sparse. The bed rooms have a nice size bed....but no chester drawer or anywhere to put your clothes(the closets did have a couple shelves). The cabin had a 3 person and 2 person couch in the main room...also a dining room table. There were 5(2 adults and 3 teenage boys) of us and we were really cramped when we all tried to watch tv together. In fact the bigger couch squecked so much that I ended up calling the property manager who gave me the owners cell phone. I explained to him that we thought the couch might break because of the 'noises ' when we sat on the couch. He said to sit on it anyway. The 'marina' was very weedy and we got our boat out by keeping the prop elevated. We were supposed to have had 4 more people at the house with us and they couldn't make it. I'm not sure how we would have accomodated that, it would have been crowded.....blowup beds all over I guess. The add also says the firepit is between the house and the lake which would have been nice...when we were there is was on the other side of the house by the driveway. The lake is beautiful and our kids had a good time with water toys. We had to ride out in the lake 200 yards and have them jump in. Overall we were disappointed with some aspects of the place. We did think that for what you got it was quite expensive.
Owner response:The cabin does have a sand blanket not a beach. It was made to give children a place to play. The fire ring is between the house and lake. At one time some renters had moved it and we were unaware of it. It is now back by the lake and picnic table where it was originally. There are two sofas and a loveseat in the great room. The furniture was bought new and works very well for renters. There are no dressers in the bedrooms, but there are several shelves in the closets and hangers for clothes. As far as the marina area being weedy, we have never had problems with the boats and have not received any complaints. We make it clear that there are 4 bedrooms with 2 queen and 2 king size beds. The bedrooms are large and there is plenty of space for air mattresses if people wanted to have more than 8 people stay. We do not charge extra for cleaning, for additional people and other fees like a lot of other rental places do. We allow people to bring their pets as long as they clean up after them. Our rate is very fair for the beautiful home, yard and lake enjoyment that people can have here.
