Sleep in the Shadow of the Dukes…
And, walk to “Les Halles” the famous Dijon Food Market. “My Home in Dijon” is a charming, very large (484 sq ft./45 sq metres) studio apartment with a separate kitchen that we lovingly restored to meet the expectations of the most demanding of guests. Dijon is the jewel of Burgundy and is easily accessible by TVG train from Paris or by motorway A31 or A6.
This beautiful, centrally located apartment is on the first floor (second floor U.S.) of a 17th century mansion. Despite its central location, the apartment is very quiet and peaceful as it faces a courtyard. You will sleep like baby.
The apartment consists of a sleeping area with a comfortable queen size bed, a dining area and a living area complete with flat screen TV (200 international channels) and an desk with a computer with broadband access and free Wi-Fi. The telephone is unblocked and you have free landline access to 100 countries (excluding cell phone numbers).
The separate windowed kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave and mini oven, a gas/electric cook top and a washer-dryer. Open the cabinets and you will find a complete set of dishes, glassware and pots and pans along with a toaster, electric kettle, coffeemaker and a blender.
The bathroom contains a washbasin and a bathtub with overhead shower and glass shower door. It is equipped with a hair dryer and a flat iron, bathrobes and an assortment of toiletries. The toilet and a second washbasin with mirror are located in a separate room making it easy for two people to get dressed in the morning. There are two large closets for your belongings. Air conditioning in the main room.
You'll be within walking distance to nearly all Dijon has to offer. It takes 2/3 min on foot to go to the tourist office in the ducal palace (entrance in rue des Forges), 5/6 min to the covered market "les Halles" 3 min to St Michel and Notre Dame churches, restaurants, brasseries all around. The Fine Arts and Magnin museums are a few steps away. Transportation nearby (buses, taxis, velodi)
The train station is a 15min walk if you wish to go to Beaune by train (or bus). It will be my pleasure to collect you at the train station so you don't have to walk, take a bus or a taxi to the apartment.
We try our very best to make your stay as comfortable as it can possibly be right down to the provisions provided free of charge on your arrival (tea, coffee, bread, butter, jam, eggs, ham, milk, cereal, orange juice and bottled water). We will even meet you at the station if you come by train. The minimum stay is 2 nights but since it makes a full day only, you will only scratch the surface of this beautiful town! And there are so many other little towns or villages to discover like Beaune, Vezelay all the wine coast villages with great names if you like wine (Gevrey Chambertin, Fixin, Chambolle Musigny, Vougeot, Morey St Denis, Nuits st Georges...)
As one of our recent guests said in our guest book: “We have thoroughly enjoyed our few days in Dijon. Not only did we have a beautiful apartment to stay in, but Dijon is a wonderful town. After a long trip and staying in hotels in big cities, My home in Dijon has provided the break we needed! Thank you Coco for your hospitality and the excellent tour at the beginning of our stay. Carolyn and Jeremy (Sydney)
To summarize, a good friend of mine from Pittsburgh who stayed at "my home in Dijon" said to me: "What's especially nice about your flat: Great location. Bright and "airy" feel to it, and it's spacious. The floor plan, layout is super. In historic area/building yet has modern conveniences Probably first and foremost, your approach to being a landlord: you do make it seem as though the "renter" is a welcomed guest in your apartment."

A gorgeous apartment in the dead centre of town, yet quiet. Absolutely every detail has been attended to. The owner goes well beyond the call of duty in greeting and caring for her guests. Reading through the other reviews and the description, I can only confirm that they are accurate and we totally enjoyed our 6 day stay in September, 2011. I wish we could have stayed longer.

We did not know about the Days of Patrimony when we planned our trip to Burgundy, specifically Dijon. So imagine our delight at having historic houses open to us (at least on the ground and 1st floor) The two free concerts we were able to attend were magical, especially the organ concert in St Bénigne cathedral]. Museums were open almost daily and for free and so close to the apartment that we could see into some of the galleries! At least twice a day we had coffee on Place de la Libération and enjoyed people watching. The ANTICS of children and teenagers around the fountains were entertaining. The unfailingly cheerful and patient Coco met us at the railroad station, escorted us back to the station at the end of our visit and provided a center city walking tour (Place de la Liberation was just around the corner) and what we considered a gem of advice: to take the little green bus that circled the central city and took us to outlying churches and museums for free. The apartment was spacious, clean and bright and furnished attractively. One of us walked with a cane and we were surprised at how swiftly people materialized from out of nowhere to insist that she take a helpful arm. We do hope that the troubling international economic climate does not force Burgundians to eliminate these features that must make it pleasant to live in and visit their cities. We would return to wonderful Dijon and Coco's apartment in a flash. Our 9-day visit certainly passed in a flash! Dijon is a rewarding city to visit, full of wonderful architecture and friendly, courteous people. Monica and Kay (Colorado, USA September 2011)

We stayed in Coco's delightful apartment for a week in June 2011, and had a wonderful time. The apartment is just so well situated and all Dijon is well within walking distance. There are restaurants, markets, theartres, botanical gardens and museums nearby - plus the lovely Atelier des Chefs, where we both enjoyed our cooking lessons. A trip to Beaune by train was a real bonus with the impressive historic hospital and good restaurants. In terms of self catering accommodation, Coco's apartment is a standout. We have travelled quite a bit, and almost always stay in self catering accommodation, and from our experience this is the pick. If you require accommodation for a couple, this is the apartment for you. Perfect host, perfect accommodation, perfect position.

From the moment my granddaughter and I stepped from the train, until the moment we said our goodbyes at the station, we felt so welcome and warmly cared for by our host Coco. Friends from London who visited us for a day in My Home in Dijon said,"What a treasure you have found!" and I couldn't agree more. Our apartment was in the very beautiful historic centre of Dijon, but also a very quiet spot; and Coco has thought of everything, absolutely everything! A bientot Coco

As San Francisco residents and with my wife being a native of Germany, we have stayed at many vacation rental apartments and homes worldwide--and this is at the top of our list! The hostess--Coco--was wonderfully helpful, and the kitchen was stocked with ham, cheeses, coffee, orange juice, milk--everything to make you feel at home. The apartment was quiet and private, and equipped with everything you could imagine. To this you must add the great location, across the street from the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy--and within a 5 minute walk of all of Dijon's best attractions. This is a great base from which to explore Burgundy--and was wonderful place to come back to each evening. Do yourself a favor--and check this out!

We had a lovely stay in Coco's home in Dijon. The apartment is spacious with high ceilings and tall windows that let in a lot of light. The central location is wonderful for getting around the city and very close to the market and shops. Our stay couldn't have been better; Coco is an excellent host very gracious and generous with her time and many little touches. (The cake was lovely!). We did not feel like strangers at all, but welcome friends. Chrystyna and Lawrence, Toronto Canada

Last month (February 2011), we traveled to Switzerland, France, and all over Northern Italy. Coco's place in Dijon was the MOST fabulous of all of the apartments we rented!!! Coco was amazing - we LOVED her and her apartment!! When we arrived, it was stocked with the most wonderful treats. Then, Coco showed us all over town. We loved it so much and can't wait to go back. This will forever be our home away from home when we're in France!! We loved EVERYTHING about it. The apartment was so cute and charming. The amenities were perfect! The location was absolutely ideal! Thank you so much for everything, Coco!!!!

A wonderful apartment in the best possible location and the most thoughful host possible! Close to historic sights, bus, restaurants, markets. We found everything perfect in the apartment, and especially appreciated the extras like the provisions, computer and telephone. It was highly recommended to us and justifiably so. The initial welcome and informal guided walk around the neighbourhood made us feel like we had been met by an old friend, and help with many extra little things during the week - bookings, arranging a doctor's visit, coping with rail strike - will always be remembered.

My husband and I spent 10 days in Dijon. We stayed at CoCo's place, Myhomeindijon.com. We found the studio apartment to be very well equipped and comfortable. We cooked in just about every meal and had no problem with the kitchen supplies. A dishwasher would be great. I think we forgot how to hand wash, we broke two wine glasses. We did day trips and enjoyed the Market days in Dijon. 10 days went by very fast!
