Extraordinary Experience - greatly exceeded expectations.

I cannot begin to describe the experiece, except for the word "Wow". Coco, picked us up at the train station, walked us around the general vicinity on a mini orientation, stocked the fridge, gave us a WiFi password, provided pointers on how to operate the Euro appliances and a short list of suggested activities. The apartment is better than the description and pictures indicate. Dijon is fabulous and is the base for many excursions to nearby cities in Burgundy. Rail or buses are inexpensive and easy to use. When Coco picked us up to take us to the train station I felt like I was saying goodbye to a close family member. Thank you Coco for a great holiday.

Our Home in Dijon

Our time in Dijon has been wonderful thanks in large part to Coco. I had read all the reviews and found them to be true. If I had any suggestion it would be to take advantage of the market. Visit our favourite patisserie next to Notre Dame. Go early on Friday or Saturday and get a roasted chicken and potatoes from Petit Casino across from the market. Dijon is a great town. Have a great time.

Although we only had 3 nights and 2 1/2 days in Dijon, we will always remember our time here with fondness. How wonderful it was to arrive here and be greeted so warmly after a long flight and the train from Paris. We were given a short tour of the town which gave us our bearings. This home-like flat welcomed us each time we returned from our adventures in and around this pleasant city. Everything was provided that a traveler could need. This is an exceptional place.

Outstanding Apartment

A gorgeous apartment in the dead centre of town, yet quiet. Absolutely every detail has been attended to. The owner goes well beyond the call of duty in greeting and caring for her guests. Reading through the other reviews and the description, I can only confirm that they are accurate and we totally enjoyed our 6 day stay in September, 2011. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Re "My Home in Dijon"

We did not know about the Days of Patrimony when we planned our trip to Burgundy, specifically Dijon. So imagine our delight at having historic houses open to us (at least on the ground and 1st floor) The two free concerts we were able to attend were magical, especially the organ concert in St Bénigne cathedral]. Museums were open almost daily and for free and so close to the apartment that we could see into some of the galleries! At least twice a day we had coffee on Place de la Libération and enjoyed people watching. The ANTICS of children and teenagers around the fountains were entertaining. The unfailingly cheerful and patient Coco met us at the railroad station, escorted us back to the station at the end of our visit and provided a center city walking tour (Place de la Liberation was just around the corner) and what we considered a gem of advice: to take the little green bus that circled the central city and took us to outlying churches and museums for free. The apartment was spacious, clean and bright and furnished attractively. One of us walked with a cane and we were surprised at how swiftly people materialized from out of nowhere to insist that she take a helpful arm. We do hope that the troubling international economic climate does not force Burgundians to eliminate these features that must make it pleasant to live in and visit their cities. We would return to wonderful Dijon and Coco's apartment in a flash. Our 9-day visit certainly passed in a flash! Dijon is a rewarding city to visit, full of wonderful architecture and friendly, courteous people. Monica and Kay (Colorado, USA September 2011)

A Beautiful Apartment, A Gracious Host, A Perfect Vacation

Guest: Lesley (Winnipeg,Manitoba, Canada)

From the moment my granddaughter and I stepped from the train, until the moment we said our goodbyes at the station, we felt so welcome and warmly cared for by our host Coco. Friends from London who visited us for a day in My Home in Dijon said,"What a treasure you have found!" and I couldn't agree more. Our apartment was in the very beautiful historic centre of Dijon, but also a very quiet spot; and Coco has thought of everything, absolutely everything! A bientot Coco

Dijon Delight

Guest: Anonymous
Date of Stay: 06/03/11 Review Submitted: 08/15/11

We stayed in Coco's delightful apartment for a week in June 2011, and had a wonderful time. The apartment is just so well situated and all Dijon is well within walking distance. There are restaurants, markets, theartres, botanical gardens and museums nearby - plus the lovely Atelier des Chefs, where we both enjoyed our cooking lessons. A trip to Beaune by train was a real bonus with the impressive historic hospital and good restaurants. In terms of self catering accommodation, Coco's apartment is a standout. We have travelled quite a bit, and almost always stay in self catering accommodation, and from our experience this is the pick. If you require accommodation for a couple, this is the apartment for you. Perfect host, perfect accommodation, perfect position.

Magnifique!

Guest: Terry (San Francisco)
Date of Stay: 05/19/11 Review Submitted: 06/21/11

As San Francisco residents and with my wife being a native of Germany, we have stayed at many vacation rental apartments and homes worldwide--and this is at the top of our list! The hostess--Coco--was wonderfully helpful, and the kitchen was stocked with ham, cheeses, coffee, orange juice, milk--everything to make you feel at home. The apartment was quiet and private, and equipped with everything you could imagine. To this you must add the great location, across the street from the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy--and within a 5 minute walk of all of Dijon's best attractions. This is a great base from which to explore Burgundy--and was wonderful place to come back to each evening. Do yourself a favor--and check this out!

We had a lovely stay in Coco's home in Dijon. The apartment is spacious with high ceilings and tall windows that let in a lot of light. The central location is wonderful for getting around the city and very close to the market and shops. Our stay couldn't have been better; Coco is an excellent host very gracious and generous with her time and many little touches. (The cake was lovely!). We did not feel like strangers at all, but welcome friends. Chrystyna and Lawrence, Toronto Canada

Last month (February 2011), we traveled to Switzerland, France, and all over Northern Italy. Coco's place in Dijon was the MOST fabulous of all of the apartments we rented!!! Coco was amazing - we LOVED her and her apartment!! When we arrived, it was stocked with the most wonderful treats. Then, Coco showed us all over town. We loved it so much and can't wait to go back. This will forever be our home away from home when we're in France!! We loved EVERYTHING about it. The apartment was so cute and charming. The amenities were perfect! The location was absolutely ideal! Thank you so much for everything, Coco!!!!

A wonderful apartment in the best possible location and the most thoughful host possible! Close to historic sights, bus, restaurants, markets. We found everything perfect in the apartment, and especially appreciated the extras like the provisions, computer and telephone. It was highly recommended to us and justifiably so. The initial welcome and informal guided walk around the neighbourhood made us feel like we had been met by an old friend, and help with many extra little things during the week - bookings, arranging a doctor's visit, coping with rail strike - will always be remembered.

10 Days at My Home In Dijon

Guest: Jo (Lighthouse Point, FL)

My husband and I spent 10 days in Dijon. We stayed at CoCo's place, Myhomeindijon.com. We found the studio apartment to be very well equipped and comfortable. We cooked in just about every meal and had no problem with the kitchen supplies. A dishwasher would be great. I think we forgot how to hand wash, we broke two wine glasses. We did day trips and enjoyed the Market days in Dijon. 10 days went by very fast!

My husband and I stayed in this apartment for three nights and couldn't have been happier. Corinne was so helpful, and all of the little extra touches she provided made this a "5 star" experience (collecting us from the train when we arrived, the tour of downtown Dijon to orient us, the delicious cake). The unit was in a perfect location in the heart of Dijon- a great base for which to explore Burgundy by car or bike. There are many restaurants within walking distance,as well as shops. The sights of Dijon are right outside the door as well. Corinne has a book of specific recommendations from previous guests that we found very helpful, as well as a computer and free wifi. This unit itself is charming, and exactly as shown in the pictures. The kitchen is very well stocked and we enjoyed cooking some meals after a visit to the Dijon market. The only problem was...we needed more time there! We would definitely recommend this unit, and we will be back.

Coco, You have done it again. This visit was even better than our last one in 2008. The flat is such a comfortable, quiet little nest in the midst of all Dijon has to offer. As usual, you thought of everything. The new oven was a pleasant surprise and the end result was some wonderful meals made with provisions purchased at the covered market and those so generously provided by you. I sincerely doubt that we will ever set foot in France again without spending time in "My Home in Dijon". A tout a l'heure, Frank and Barbara

A week wasn't enough time in delightful Dijon!

Guest: Maggie and Rick (Sacramento CA USA)
Date of Stay: 04/13/10 Review Submitted: 04/25/10

Following the instructions that Coco sent, we were able to buy train tickets online, at a discount price, and print them. When we arrived, she picked us up at the train station and showed us around the town. If we had any questions about what to see or do or where to eat, Coco had good suggestions. The apt is clean, quiet and seems spacious for its size. As the photos show, the decor gives the apt a nice ambiance. The information provided by apt owner Coco was accurate. The week before arriving in Dijon, we were on a river cruise on the Seine. With so much rich French food served on the ship, we decided to utilize the kitchenette for our meals. We enjoyed going to a different bakery every day and to the Halles market when it was open. We decided not to rent a car. The weather was wonderful and we enjoyed walking around the different neighborhoods. We shopped in the local stores. We took the free 'around town' bus. For a day trip, we took the Transco bus to Beaune. There are bicycles for rent. We went to museums and particularly enjoyed the Fines Arts and the one on Life in Burgundy. The Tourist Bureau offers a walking tour that explains the history of Dijon and how it became a center for mustard, 'gingerbread' and Kir. The apt is a communications center with computer, phone capable of making free calls to USA and many other countries and a television with many English stations. When the computer keyboard malfunctioned, Coco offered to come into town during her dinner preparations to fix it. We said that wasn't necessary. Since our visit coincided with the volcano eruption that brought air traffic to a stop, these amenities became very important. When a rail strike almost 'derailed' our departure, Coco came up with Plan B. The apt more than matched our expectations and our needs. Coco was the perfect hostess. I would love to return!

A home away from home, in Dijon

Guest: jrmama42 (San Mateo, CA)
Date of Stay: 03/24/10 Review Submitted: 04/06/10

We have stayed in many rental apartments and cottages over the years, but never had the level of care we experienced with Coco at “My Home in Dijon”. The apartment is bright, clean and very comfortably furnished, with all the amenities (and then some!) that one could need. We were able to do laundry and cook full meals in the well-appointed kitchen, a real treat for my husband after 2 weeks of business travel and restaurant food. When I arrived, traveling solo, Coco gave me a whirlwind tour of Dijon and showed me where to report for my cooking class the next day. (There is a French cooking school a short walk from the apartment!) She also suggested activities for after my husband arrived, and when the weather turned rainy, she kept us posted by email with alternate suggestions. We found plenty of diversion, walking to the botanical gardens one day, and wandering through the incredible covered market and enjoying the Beaux Arts museum (right across the street from the apartment!) when it rained. But most of all we enjoyed our “home base” – where we could relax in the comfort of this beautiful apartment and feel right at home.

We traveled around Europe for two months, staying in a variety of hotels, B&Bs and apartments (19 in total, iirc). Coco's apartment was our favourite of all the places we stayed. It was more like a home than mere travel accommodation. We felt we could happily live there. Coco herself is a charming hostess who went out of her way to make us feel at home. Thanks, Coco, for your wonderful hospitality, and especially for coming out on Christmas day to welcome us. We had a great time in Dijon and we loved staying at your apartment. We hope to make this our Home in Dijon next time we come, and we will recommend you to everyone.

My husband and I spent three nights at My Home In Dijon, and it was a wonderful experience due to many factors, first and foremost Corinne's style of being a host that others have commented on. The apartment itself is spacious, bright, and cheery and in a great location in Dijon. Corinne has thought of everything anyone might need in an apartment. We have rented several apartments in France, and never have we found a place that was so well supplied or a host who was so devoted to making sure our visit was a very positive experience. Dijon is a "best kept secret" and deserves to be on everyone's list of places to explore in France, and My Home in Dijon is the place to stay! Thank you, Coco! Sue and Bob

We spent four nights September 2009 in Dijon at Coco’s flat “My Home in Dijon”. What a wonderful choice that was. We didn’t know what to expect but it exceeded all of our expectations. Communicating with Coco prior to our trip was very easy. She was always very responsive and had plenty of suggestions to help us make plans, prior to our arrival. When we finally got to Dijon, she personally gave us a tour of the surroundings, pointed out some important things not to be missed. Everything about the apartment was impeccably clean .... you could eat off the floor. The bed was comfortable, shower pressure was great and the apartment is very well located, very convenient and right in the middle of everything yet set back just enough for a quiet, peaceful sleep at night. Did I mention that the bed was very comfortable? Coco anticipated anything anyone could want in the apartment and provided it. Even during our stay, she was readily available by phone or internet to assist or answer questions. Having a wonderful place to come to after a full day of wine tasting and site visits made all the difference. It always felt like coming home at the end of a long day. Coco’s flat is truly a home away from home. When the time came for us to leave Dijon, we were quite sad and wished we had a few more days to spend. We will forever remember our time in Dijon very fondly. A lot of it has to do with Coco’s magnificent hospitality and a wonderfully comfortable flat. I will highly recommend this flat – My Home in Dijon – to anyone who is looking for a place in Dijon. Beaune is close enough so one can stay in Dijon and still visit all day in Beaune.Coco, thank you so very much for contributing to our memorable trip in such a special way The next time we plan a trip to Dijon, we will not hesitate to contact you.Merci beaucoup et à bientôt.Jim & Elizabeth, Tampa, Florida

With deep appreciation your kindness in showing us your Dijon and for sharing "your home in Dijon". Your attention to detail and willingness to share local knowledge, including a quick guided walking tour on our arrival, led us to visiting the amazing restaurant Stephan Derbord, following the amazing Owl Trail, and visiting the Magnin Museum. We have such fond memories of our visit and hope to share your Dijon and your hospitality again soon. You have a lovely town with lovely people (especially you) Kindest regards - Best wishes

Coco, Thank you so much for making our first visit to Dijon a memorable one. Your apartment is wonderful as are you. You have anticipated your guests every want and need.We felt right at home instantly. The location of the apartment is perfect. We were right in the middle of everything and yet removed from any of the street noise. It was such a pleasure to come "home" to your little haven after a day of walking and eating.Practically falling out of bed and into the famous covered food market was an added bonus. I especially enjoyed cooking in your spacious kitchen. Dijon was a revelation. It is a marvelous city and we were seduced by its charm and,of course, by its food and wine. We look forward to seeing you again next May. Barbara and Frank

Owner response:Many thanks for your nice comments Barbara, you were nice guests too! I'm looking forward to welcoming you again next May and we will have fun at the cooking class together! I can't wait! A bientôt. Coco
