This cottage is even better than the pictures look. It is absolutely beautiful and the minute you walk in the door it feels like home. I didn't want to leave! Margo left us some starter food and a bottle of wine, which was very welcome. Although we didn't have a chance to meet her personally, she was very responsive to anything we needed and easy to communicate with both before and during our stay. Our purpose for visiting Scotland was golf at St. Andrews. The cottage was located a short drive away from St. Andrews and is a great location for that purpose. It is also a good location for exploring Scotland and playing golf in other areas. It is just outside of the town of Cupar, which is a lovely little town with a market place and friendly people (we went to church there and really enjoyed that). Although you can walk to Cupar in about twenty minutes, the cottage is very private and rural. The silence at night (unless it is raining) was great after a week in Paris and a few days in London! Listening to the rain on the roof was another treat. Overall, I would recommend this cottage without hesitation. Our family (which included two teenage boys) was very comfortable there. It is clean and has everything we needed. There is one bathroom, but a second toilet downstairs, which worked perfectly for us. The kitchen is well equipped and intuitive, so I found cooking there easy. Great location, great owner and a great experience.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our daughter graduated from St Andrews this week, and this cottage and estate were the perfect places to repair to, to hold us in a spirit of celebration - peaceful, calm, quiet, magical, serene, teeming with birdsong, perfectly kitted out, charming, inspiring, comfortable - entirely lovely in every regard. I deeply hope to return and we, in our separate ways, will always hold this place close to our heart. Thank you. Loved chatting to the ponies and the horse too!

Really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was great, enjoyed the quiet and all the surrounding scenery. Had a wonderful time touring the central part of Scotland. The golf was great. Thanks for the welcome pack. We lucked out with the weather. It was ideal for golf and touring the area.

We've enjoyed being Scottish for a week, the ideal location too. We found something we liked in every bakery in every town. I loved cooking in the kitchen - must be the views and the quiet. We named the ' abandoned twin' calf 'Wobbly'. Great time, great place.

A beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. Thanks for the extras that make it extra special. Would recommend Cambo gardens and beach, and Tentsmuir wood and beach at Leuchars. Ideal for a young family. It was Marcus's 4th birthday while here, and he has loved it. Will return to this cottage.

After a long journey here we were immediately taken by the lovely little house in such a great location. It did not take us long to feel at home in this cosy and so well equipped place. It sets a very high standard for our remaining 5 weeks in the UK. Waking up to and being surrounded by the wildlife was a bonus - this included horse, pheasant, deer. We will be sad to leave but glad we had the opportunity to be here.

I have really enjoyed staying here. The beds were really comfortable. I wish we could stay longer than just one week. We all enjoyed it a lot, and I hope I will be able to get my family to come here again! Unexpectedly good weather!

Beautiful cottage in the snow. Didn't take the car out for the 5 days we were here! Never got above freezing the the time we were here, but the cottage was cosy and the log fire came into its own. Recommend Ostler's Close in Cupar - great food for a night out.

Lovely week in the 'home from home' cottage. Very welcoming. Had a great week, visited lots of lovely places. Weather typically Scottish but mild for this time of year. Lucky to see deer a couple of mornings walking across the front garden. Thank you very much.
