Caribbean Blue has an open, airy feel to it and is tastefully decorated in a tropical decor equipped with all the amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. The house has three bedrooms: 2 masters with attached bathrooms and a third bedroom with twin beds that convert to a king. Enjoy paradise lounging beside the seaside, sipping a frozen concoction as the aquamarine water soothes your soul.

There is easy access to the water from the property for fabulous snorkeling on Balara Bay. There is fishing right off the property for fish such as grouper and snapper. Levi Island is directly across from the house and is one of the island's bone fishing hot spots.

Governor's Harbour is a small, quiet town on the Family Island of Eleuthera, offering a collection of distinctive colonial homes, historic churches, and colorful Bahamian buildings.

You will find all the services you need in town: grocery stores, gift shops, post office, banks, gas station, dive shop, liquor stores, internet cafe, and bakery. There are also several good local restaurants to chose from and a few local bars.

There are no casinos or flashy nightclubs on Eleuthera; the local Bahamians prefer a more sedate, relaxed atmosphere.

The island of Eleuthera is 110 miles long and an average of only two miles wide. Governor's Harbour is located in the middle of Eleuthera, making day excursions easy. The entire island is ringed by spectacular beaches, most of which are totally secluded.

There are many interesting settlements up and down the island. In addition, you will be able to enjoy fabulous fishing (deep sea and bone fishing), snorkeling and scuba diving, shelling, or you can just relax on the elevated porch.

Dream vacation - Nov/Dec 2011

Guest: Jayne F.
Date of Stay: 11/21/11 Review Submitted: 12/09/11

My husband and I stayed here for 13 days, and had a dream vacation. The house is beautifully decorated. Fully paneled in pickled wood paneling, and great beach themed art work throughout. The bed was very comfortable and the bathrooms were very nice. Didn't use washer and dryer a lot, but they were nice to have and full size. Close line downstair on porch is great for towels. House is only a few years old so everything is in new condition. Wonderful house, fully equipped with everything. Kitchen has all you could ask for including a full drawer of all spices, etc. We ate breakfast at the house everyday, and dinner except for 2 nights. Had to go to the Fish Fry in Governor's Harbor on one of the Friday evenings. My husband caught a Nassau grouper in front of house that we had for Thanksgiving dinner, along with lobster from the dock at Governor's Harbor. Remember to bring frozen meats with you on the plane. It's worth it! We used the grill on the porch a great deal. Watched the sunrise and set everyday from the porch or down by the water. Beautiful beyond words looking out over the water. Saw a porpoise, turtles, and a large ray. In addition, of course, to innumerable fish jumping all over the place. Levi island is straight out in front of the house. There are 2 sets of binoculars to use at the house and they are great to use out on the porch. Snorkeling is great along the rock edges, especially at lower tides. Many varieties of fish and other sea life there. Went out in the kayak and of course caught fish and saw lots more. Beach chairs and other outdoor chairs are available, along with some basic fishing rods and tackle, and other swimming floats, etc. My husband had mostly his own tackle, since he was out for the bonefish. Was successful on our outings and caught 8. Outside shower downstairs has hot water as well as cold. Wonderful! Location is perfect. 5 minutes from Governors Harbor not much further from the Gov. Harbor airport. Groceries, gas stations, restaurants, etc all in Governors Harbor. Make sure to bring cash, though, almost no place takes credit cards. No exaggeration. The Eleuthera Book of Beaches is a GREAT resource when out exploring for the hard to find beaches. The harder it is to find, the better it is. Whiteland Beach was our most favorite, down near Rock Sound. Twin Cove, Med Beach and Poponi are closer and very beautiful as well. Hope you enjoy as much as we did!!!!

Honeymooners

WOW! Caribbean Blue was the perfect place to stay for our honeymoon! My husband and I were more than pleased with our stay. Everything was so clean when we arrived and even more stocked than we expected. It far exceeded our expectations! The book of beaches was so helpful and our personal favorite was called Lighthouse beach. We took full advantage of the kayak one day and went across to Levi Island. It is at the bottom of the island but well worth the trip on the way back we enjoyed dinner at Sammie's and it was amazing!!! The only things I will mention is definitely bring bug spray and the beach shoes! We had the dream honeymoon in Eleuthera and at Caribbean Blue and hope we have the opportunity to return again someday!

Caribbean Paradice

This was our first trip to the Bahamas and we could not have picked a better place to stay in Eleuthera. The house was everything they said it would be and more. All the bedrooms were large enough so we did not feel cramped. The kitchen was well stocked with anything we needed for cooking, cleaning and drinking. Livingroom/kitchen was open and very comfortable. The balcony was wonderful and we spent EVERY morning sitting on it watching the sunrise over the hill top (on the left) drinking our coffee. We grilled a couple of meals outside on the balcony and sat at the table enjoying the breeze as it blew across. At night, we sat on the balcony and could see the small township of Governor's Harbour. We saw a couple of ships bringing in supplies. The water was beautiful and we enjoyed snorkeling right out in front of the house. The steps going into the water was good but could be a bit slippery!! Make sure to were some kind of beach shoes. There were hand rails to help secure the entry into the water. The island right across from the house was a great place to kayak and snorkel around. The town was very laid back and the people were friendly. Shopping was limited but nice. The food was expensive but good. Tippi's was the best place as far as gong out to eat. (We ate there twice.) We would absolutely recommend this place for anyone looking for peace, seclusion and a laid back atmosphere. The owners were very helpful with any questions we had. The airport is just about a five minute drive to the house and Governor's Harbor was about another five minutes. Beaches were BEAUTIFUL and PINK!! The entire week we were there we saw maybe 8 people on a beach. Very private. The best beach we found, we called "Cpt Jacks" because we could not find out what the actual name was. Look for the sign on the same road as Tippi's. Make sure to request an off-road type vehicle. (Truck, jeep or van, etc) Most roads going to the beaches are bad and not suited for low riding cars:( Overall trip................GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS.......bring your pillows;)

Great Place - Will Return & Recommend To Others !

From Start to Finish This Was A Great Experience To Rent This Beautiful Water Front Home In Governor's Harbour ! The owners and caretaker where very helpful, kind, nice and easy to deal with. This fully air conditioned home is a great value with excellent views. The location in Governors Harbor is where you want to visit. The quaint town with restaurants, shopping, banks & atms, library with internet, beer & wine shops, daily fresh fish & lobster - all the amenities you need are just down the road. At the airport there are taxis drivers, the house is nearby and easy to find. This house has a nice, fresh, open and airy feeling to it, all rooms are sized good. The house is well stocked with all the items you will need and then some. The family room, dining area, kitchen and balcony are facing the Caribbean water, what a view ! From the balcony we saw schools of fish passing by, a little island, the town and in the distance were ships cursing past. At night the sky is well lit with stars, just another view we enjoyed. The balcony has plenty of room with table, chairs and grill, we enjoy fresh food, tropical fruit drinks, wine and coffee from it. Access into the water at the house, is easy and safe. A well mounted railing with steps to the water is just steps away from the house with a outside shower. We used the kayak and visited the little island just off shore, saw lots of birds, star fish, colorful fish everywhere - water is crystal clear. I have stayed at other homes on this island and found this one to be another winner in Governor's Harbour, the town to visit. David from Maryland
