The garden has lots of space for ball games and offers all kinds of edible surprises, from blueberries to apples, cherries and various herbs.
If you would like to spend your evenings listening to the Boston Symphony in Tanglewood, watching a play at Shakespeare and Company or a dance performance at Jacob’s Pillow, all these attractions are within 30 minutes driving distance.
Great Barrington with its excellent shopping and dining is 15 minutes away, and New Marlborough itself offers wonderful dining and spa experiences. There is an abundance of outdoor activities for all seasons and it only takes minutes to get to hiking trails, rivers for rafting and kayaking and several lakes.
If you like winter sports, the house is less than 15 minutes from Butternut ski area and opportunities for cross country skiing are plentiful.

Why the Owner Chose New Marlborough
The southern Berkshires have something to offer for everyone. We love to explore the beautiful countryside, go for a hike, swim and picnic in summer and ski, or go tubing and sledding in winter. The museums are world class, as are the music, ballet and theater festivals. The food scene is fantastic and the local produce plentiful and delicious. It's a great holiday location, a beautiful place to get away to for a weekend, a month or an entire season.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We love this house and it feels like a holiday every time we are there. It is spacious and even with a large family, there's plenty of room to spread out. The house is bright and airy, with the wonderful screen porch in the summer, so much space outside and all the privacy you need. The pool is warm enough to swim in early June and is beautiful and fun. We play ball games outside, ping pong in the basement and explore the surrounding woods. The winter's are great and the house is so cozy, with it's wood burning stove, comfortable sofas, large selection of DVD's and games. The kids go sledding in the yard and build snowmen, or all of us go skiing at Butternut. It's a lovely place for a break at any time of the year.

Our family stayed in this home for a weekend and wish we were there longer. The house is surprisingly large once inside, the layout is perfect for a large family to spread out with two TV/sitting rooms and plenty of bedrooms and it is very kid friendly, has a very clean basement with toys and things for kids to play with. The pool was perfect to have as it got pretty warm during out visit. The eating areas are large with a beautiful screened in porch. All the amenities you could possibly need and the owners are very considerate and provide all the information you need for your stay. Look no further you've found your house in the woods!

This place is a rare gem -- a beautiful home on large piece of property with a swimming pool, all the amenities you can ask for and tastefully furnished interior with lots of space to spread out. It's gorgeous, comfortable and can easily fits two families -- it's perfect for young children. The owners are lovely and make sure you have everything you need - wifi, nice bedding, cookware, towels. It's a peaceful, bucolic setting, yet close to the town of Great Barrington with it's top restaurants and cultural attractions. Basically, this property has EVERYTHING you could ask for. We plan to come back again and again with our family. My only hesitation in giving it a glowing review is that it will be booked the next time we want to stay here.
