Quaint homes, sandy lanes with oyster shells, a pristine beach with no hotels or buildings, clean ocean water, eclectic, full of local music, kayaking, surfing, shelling, last traces of Elizabethan English spoken on the island, wild ponies, artists, bird watching, great restaurants, the oldest working lighthouse in North Carolina. There are no shopping malls, chain restaurants, no stop lights and no traffic jams.
