Location: Los Olivos, Central Coast, California, USA (2 Hrs N of Los Angeles, 30 Min N of Santa Barbara)

Accommodations:  House, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Baths (Sleeps 6)

Just two hours north of Los Angeles, 1/2 hour north of Santa Barbara, located in the township of Los Olivos, Santa Ynez Valley, you will find the perfect place to RELAX, RELECT and RECHARGE. The house is tucked away on a small hill surrounded by mature eucalyptus, pine and pepper trees, just two blocks from the center of town where you can stroll to the Corner Cafe for a morning latte.

Walk to several first class wine tasting rooms, lunch at the Los Olivos Cafe, a location seen in the film, "Sideways". Leisurely explore art galleries and antique stores. Take a drive through the Santa Ynez Valley and discover over 117 wineries offering some of the finest wines produced in California.

In the evening, you will find first class dining at Brothers (Mattei's Tavern) to be among the finest in the valley. Although you may run into a few celebs, Grapolos in Santa Ynez offers excellent Italian fare.

This newly remodeled three bedroom, two bath home can comfortably accommodate 4-6 adults. New king and queen beds are located upstairs. A trundle day bed is located in the downstairs bedroom.

An additional sleeping area in the loft is available if needed. There is flat parking to accommodate up to four cars. The living room has a slate surround, remote controlled fireplace, television, DVD/CD players and broadband internet access.

Through the french doors, right off the newly remodeled kitchen, there is a large redwood deck. 30 year old grape vines, espaliered on the fence surround the lawn and backyard. A new herb garden will supply most culinary needs. Roll out the Santa Maria Bar-Be-Que and try your hand at grilling your own Santa Maria tri-tip.

Just down the road, pick up fresh vegetables at Summerset farms. You cannot get fresher than right next to the field. Enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine on the slate balcony off the master.

And we are GREEN. We use only green cleaning products, we recycle and compost. You will love your experience here as I do.

  • We were the inaugural guests at Rustic Elegance and very much enjoyed our stay from July 22-26, 2009! We enjoyed both the house and the spacious backyard with plenty of seating and a charcoal bbq. We loved the grape vine covered structure in the backyard. The house stayed very cool even on the hottest day while we were there and nicely accomodated our party of 6. The place is a short walk to everything on Grand Avenue including wine tasting rooms, shops and restaurants. A short drive gets you to Los Olivos Grocery although I'd recommend going a bit further to El Rancho at Refugio Road and the 246. The owner is very informative and quick to address any issues. I can't imagine anyone being displeased with the place. This was our second use of the vrbo site and we've found it to be an incredible value. You'll enjoy your stay in wine country!
