The location and amenities of this apartment are fantastic - I would definitely rent this apartment again the next time I have the chance to come to Rio. Marcelo is incredibly professional and goes to great lengths to ensure that guests have a pleasant stay. I accidentally turned the water off in the second bathroom and Marcelo himself came over help resolve the problem.

My partner and I spent a little less than a week in Rio in the apartment in Ipanema over the Thanksgiving holiday. The apartment has the perfect location. It is an incredibly safe area, very close to the beach, grocery stores, restaurants, nightlife, etc...In addition, it was easy to get to other parts of the city (Copacabana, Leme, Lapa, Leblon, etc.). The apartment is clean and comes with all of the amenities that you need to feel right at home (including a coffee maker and blender for your morning and afternoon treats) in addition to appliances to make a slightly modified Thanksgiving meal. Marcelo and his assistant were so easy to work with. It was really a great, stress-free experience. If you are considering Rio, I highly recommend staying in Ipanema, and I highly recommend this apartment.

Stayed at this location for a week in June and was completely satisfied with the results. Location is incredible, the unit is clean, and having two bathrooms is such a nice perk. Did not use the kitchen much, however, it is perfectly stocked for use. But I must say, that the best part was the easy and professional manner of the owner and his assistant in Rio. As we say in the States.. they were" right on the ball" with everything... It made the whole experience a lot more pleasant and efficient. Thanks and will definitely reccomend.

I had the great pleasure of renting this apartment for 1 entire month....OTIMO! I was not disappointed by the VRBO description, fotos, & location..it was all that the owner said it would be & more. The location was especially terrific, 2 blocks from Ipanema beach, directly on the main avenue Visconde de Piraja, close to city transit buses & 4 blocks to the metro station Ipanema, and walking distance to Copacabana. The apartment at the back of the building did not get the noise from this busy & wonderful shopping street of restos, shops, cafes & so forth. The area is very safe for tourists, lots of locals & tourists & police on the streets day & night. The apartment was clean, very well equipped, everything in working order. I have decided to spend another month there in March 2011...do not hesitate to rent this apartment if you have the opportunity to spend time in one of the world's most beautiful cities.

My partner and I stayed in this great apartment for 5 nights in mid-December 2009. What a find! Aside from being in an outstanding, safe location, it is convenient to everything you might want--stores, restaurants, bars and of course, the incredible beach at Ipanema. Whether you like to eat in or eat out, this place works well. It's an easy walk to the nearby and very fashionable Leblon district from the apartment and we enjoyed the fantastic farmers' market at a nearby park (about 2 blocks away) where we bought everything fresh, from flowers to seafood to great local produce. The apartment is quiet, comfortable and IMMACULATELY kept. There is a/c and ceiling fans to use when it is warm. There's a well-stocked kitchen with all the basics and then some that you might need to prep a meal or snack in. It was my first vacation to Rio but the next time I go (and there will definitely be a next time!!),Marcelo's place will be my first choice place to stay.

New Year's 2010 was my first time renting a vacation apartment in Rio and I feel like we lucked out. In addition to previous comments, with which I totally agree (location, location, location!), I would like to mention that the apartment is in the rear of the building and is very quiet. It provides a pleasant retreat when desired from the bustle of Ipanema. Marcelo makes renting easy, much easier than through an agency. Highly recommended for all reasons!

Fantastic location in Ipanema! Restaurants, banks, transportation, and shopping are available as soon as you walk out the building. An added bonus is that the beach is only about 2-3 blocks away! In a safe location with a doorman. We felt secure even walking the streets late at nignt. The owner, Marcelo, does an excellent job of communicating and making sure the apartment is equipped with everything to make you feel like you are at home. If I ever return I will be renting this apartment again.

This apartment was great. It`s right near THE place to be on Ipanema beach (posto 9) and a short walk to great bars, restaurants, etc. (The Girl From Ipanema was written in a bar a block away, for example). I`d absolutely stay here again.

Mom and I had the fortunate experience in spending a couple of weeks in this apartment. The unit is well equipped with everything you might possibly need, it's incredibly clean, good lighting, comfortable and perfect centralized safe location in Ipanema. I would absolutely stay here again. Ron
