The harlem flat is newly renovated and features exposed brick walls, high ceilings, hardwood floors, recessed lighting, ample closet space and a private patio. the 1000 square foot unit has a private entrance and is equipped with every convenience you will need during your stay, including: washer/dryer, cable tv, wireless internet connection, iPod docking stations. lush linens and towels are provided.
the harlem flat is a two bedroom apartment located on the garden level of a classic harlem structure - the Brownstone. nestled in the middle of a quiet, tree-lined block, the flat is a short walk to central park and two blocks from the 2 and 3 express subway that gets you to times square in 20 minutes. or take the m2 express bus - two blocks away - to go down 5th avenue for great shopping, sightseeing and museum hopping. if you choose to stay in the neighborhood, there are great cafes for people watching, as well as sightseeing in the area. the apollo theatre, lenox lounge, the studio museum and other attractions are just minutes away from the flat. enjoy the city! enjoy harlem!

My daughter and I stayed at the Harlem Flat for a week. We immediately felt at home in this well-situated and laid-out so that we had privacy in each bedroom. The flat is in an excellent location, with cafes, famous and up-and-coming restaraunts nearby as well as subway stations tat will get you everywhere in the city worth going. Joycelyn and Norbert were wonderful hosts. I would recommend highly the Harlem Flat to anyone desiring more than a typical hotel room and at a a most reasonable price.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Everyting was excellent. The apartment is fully in line with the photos and the description in the internet. We loved the interior. Shopping facilities, restaurants and subway stations were all nearby. There is only one "minus" from the point of view of a German: The beds were to narrow for us. We prefer queen or king size beds.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The flat is about 5 minutes away from the subway (to Manhatten)- by walking distance. The pictures on the website are looking exactly like the apartement. The flat is clean and the furniture is lovely. We liked the apartement and we fell in love with it- so we all could move in right away! The owners are friendly and helpful. They gave us a lot of great information. We will be back! Das Apartment ist ca. 5 Gehminuten von der U-Bahn nach Manhatten entfernt. Die gezeigten Bilder auf der Homepage entsprechen genau der Wohnung. Das Apartement ist sehr sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet. Wir fühlten uns richtig wohl und haben uns sofort in die Wohnung verliebt und wären am liebsten gleich eingezogen :) Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Sie haben uns viele brauchbare Tipps gegeben. Our stay during Christmas 2011 was very pleasant. The flat is lovely. We felt very much at home and had a great Christmas dinner. All is in place to cook for it and clean afterwards with a nice comfortable table and chairs to sit down and enjoy. And after a day of walking NY City it is nice to have a quiet neighborhood a warm shower and a good bed. We can recommend the close by International Beer Garden for affordable yummie food and a off course a beer.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We really enjoyed our stay. The appartment was exactly as shown on the pictures. It was also very clean and well-maintained. Joycelyn and Norbert were helpful in answering concerns.The appartment is close to the subway and the area was nice. During our first family visit to NYC we stayed for a week in the apartment of the Harlem Flat. This was by far one of the best experiences we had in apartment rentals. From the first e-mail contact to the last goodbye Joycelyn, the owner, proved herself as a perfect, friendly and pleasant hostess. She was always there when you needed her but she was never pushy. The fully equipped apartment (with use of the garden) provided us with all the necessaries to complete our stay. The location is perfect to explore Manhattan (by foot, subway or bus) and because of the short distance to make a stroll to and through Central Park. The district (Harlem Central) in which the apartment is located is very authentic and we always felt secure and safe in this neighborhood. There are sufficient convenient stores to buy your grocery’s or other necessities. A subway station around the corner is like the gateway to NYC. We enjoyed sipping our espresso in the early morning sun, our morning runs in Central Park and exploring NYC to the fullest, thanks to Joycelyn and her Harlem Flat. We’ll be back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The flat was a great base for our travels in and out of NYC but the biggest revelation was Harlem itself. We enjoyed having the flat as a base - going out in the morning for croissants or bagels or eating our just before starting the day. Easy subway travel downtown and also uptown to the Cloisters museum in the park by the river. Lovely flat really added to the pleasure of the trip.Did you find this review helpful?
