You’re sure to love our expanded (2500 sq ft.), customized Southwest Santa Fe style home located on a quiet street in The Links (a 55-plus age restricted gated community) in Green Valley, Arizona. Enjoy relaxing or dining in either the walled, bricked back patio with excellent Santa Rita Mountain views, or the walled and gated front courtyard with unobstructed views of the 4th fairway of the Torres Blancas Golf Course across the street (only a bit over half a mile to the clubhouse).
Indoors, you may choose to dine in the formal dining room, with coffered ceiling, or in the spacious great room, both of which have great mountain views. The dramatic great room, with soaring ceilings, features peeled poles, a gas beehive fireplace with a raised tiled hearth, and all the audio visual equipment (TV, DVD, VCR, cassette player, stereo w/surround sound) concealed behind doors in a wonderful Southwestern style entertainment center. A wall of windows and French doors offers Santa Rita Mountain views and leads to the covered back patio. Remote controlled power solar screen shades offer even more shade when the sun is still low in the morning. You’re sure to spend lots of time on the extended patio, either relaxing on the two chaise lounges or dining on the umbrella-shaded table on food prepared on the Weber Genesis gas grill. This patio is made for relaxation --- mountain views, wonderful Southwest plantings, and if you enjoy birdsong, you’ll love it here! Green Valley is considered one of the finest bird watching areas in the U.S., and you’ll spot many varieties right here in your own back yard.
The master bedroom suite features a large walk-in closet, a door to the back patio, and a Sleep Number king-sized bed. Each side of the bed is individually controlled: raise the head for reading, adjust for firmness, or even set for a massage! The master bath features executive height dual vanities with a make-up station and seat. This bathroom also features a large walk-in shower, a jetted garden tub and separate commode area. The guest suite features a bedroom with brand new custom-made Southwest furniture and a brand new queen pillow-top mattress, and an adjoining bathroom with a shower/tub combo.
The den features a computer desk, sofa and TV. You’ll love the huge kitchen, which features a beamed ceiling, island with two stools, breakfast bar with two stools, built-in desk and upgraded stainless steel appliances (side-by-side refrigerator with in-door ice and water, wall oven, built-in microwave, dishwasher, disposal, electric cook top). There is storage space galore, and just about everything in it is brand new (small appliances, glassware, cookware, etc.). And to top it off, wonderful mountain views! An expanded laundry room (with a full sized washer and dryer) and an extra half bath are both adjacent to the kitchen.
Skylights brighten the foyer, utility room, master bath and 2-1/2 car garage. The house features dual zone heating and air conditioning and there are ceiling fans throughout the house and garage. For your safety, there is a whole-house sprinkler system. All windows and glass doors have pleated shades to raise & lower as you please.
Green Valley has excellent recreational facilities offered through Green Valley Recreation (GVR). For a small one-time fee you can take advantage of dozens of activities, from swimming pools and tennis courts, to art and camera studios, and even a computer club. Why the Owner Chose Links at Santa Rita Springs
We have visited relatives in Green Valley for many years, and finally decided to look for a home to buy. After looking at many homes, this last-minute find was far and above anything else we'd looked at. It has a beautifully landscaped back patio, with views of the mountains, and the front courtyard looks onto the Torres Blancas golf course (only 1/2 mile to the clubhouse). Our home in Illinois is on 2 wooded acres, so we're used to privacy, and that was a big concern for us: This home is located on the last street in The Links gated community, so it's rare to see a car go by, just golfers across the street! And with mature landscaping both at our home and both our neighbors, our back patio is a wonderful spot to have a bite to eat, or just relax and listen to the birds singing. If you happen to check us out on Google Earth, they've mistakenly labeled Chipshot (our street) and Wedge Way. Chipshot is the street bordering the golf course (now labeled Wedge Way). Wedge Way is the street you turn off of Abrego to get to Chipshot. Our house is across the street from the golf course, the house with the for sale sign in front of it (old sign - it's not for sale now!). Hopefully Google Earth will have this problem resolved soon!

In his spare time, John likes to keep busy --- volleyball, tennis, pickleball, bicycling, hiking, sailing, kayaking, riding our motorcycle --- you name it, he just likes to be active! While Sue enjoys many of these activities, she also like to relax once in a while! Sitting outside and reading a book in the middle of the day is a rare pleasure, and probably the best part of her day is walking with our dog.
