The property sits in the trees at 8500 feet with 5 14,000 foot mountains behind it and 100 mile views of the valley in front. The property is 10 minutes to town which has a brand new 7000 sq ft health food store, post office, restaurants, etc.

  • This is a special place indeed, made all the more special by the owner Al. He is a wealth of information on great things to do in the area and genuinely wants to see you have a great stay. The place is so quiet and so beautiful. Sitting out on the deck I couldn't decide whether to face the mountains or the valley! Both are spectacular to look at. I hadn’t seen the Milky Way for quite some time until this trip – there is no light pollution out here. Great amenities, comfortable beds, every basic need is provided here and then some. With the Great Sand Dunes originally being the primary goal for our trip, we discovered that we’d found the best value in the area staying here as a “home base”, a short 2 hour drive to the dunes, and so many other things to do and see. I plan to make a return visit in the future, pick-up where four short days left off and this is where I will stay!

  • I sat on th porch and watched the moon rise over the mountains.Just another majic moment at this place.If you're looking for an authentic Colorado mountain getaway,than this serene well kept rental is just the ticket.My wife and I recommend it highly and will certainly return in the future.

  • We couldn't have asked for a more wonderful place to stay during our vacation in Crestone! When my husband, one year old and 14 year old and I first arrived we were greeted by the owner Al and his wonderful dogs. He and his companions were all incredibly hospitable and welcoming. This rental was absolutely beautiful and perfect for us in every way! It is so comfortable and stylish which made us feel very lucky and spoiled. I have stayed in Crestone two other times and this was by far my favorite property. We are looking forward to coming back for our anniversary in the fall. I give this rental 5 gold stars! Thank you Al for making our vacation absolutely perfect! We are looking forward to seeing you again soon!

  • Beautiful views, quiet and with nearby trails. Nice kitchen with everything you need. Slept four (two adults and two kids) comfortably. There is a shower and a deep bathtub, which I don't think is mentioned in the information. The owner is happy to help with local information (the walk to the beehive huts was a hit with the kids) and directions. A great place!
