Argentina Patagonia Lake District Prime Fly Fishing Area Ranch Home on 880 Acres
- Minimum stay:7 nights
- Internet:No
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Set in the Argentine Lake district in the heart of Patagonia, La Rinconada Ranch occupies 880 acres of pristine alpine environment. This rural setting is ten minutes drive from the north entrance to the huge Los Alerces National Park with its glacier fed rivers, lakes, and world class fly-fishing.
When you wake up in the original farmhouse from your cozy bed, you will find yourself living on a farm complete with barns, out-buildings, workshops, a greenhouse and even a yoga studio. Organic gardeing and farm-fresh eggs are all part of the fun. Our ranch managers will be available if you need anything. Hike, laze around in a hammock strunge between apple trees, fish the gin-clear waters that abound in this region, sip Argentina's famous wines while grilling up their equally famous beef on the large outdoor parrilla.
Adventure by car to local towns as well as to the dry, rugged landscape to the west as a good way to see the 'real' patagonia.
About the yoga studio... We have run yoga retreats at our ranch in the past with great result. We have worked with various instructors from the States who bring their own clients. We have been an integral part of these retreats. These days we keep to the US most of the year with two kids in grade school. Of course you can still have a great retreat; we have full time ranch managers who will help with any problems and can have home-made food delivered. It would have to be your show, but if there are any problems, we have very competent people to do the fix. The campo is gorgeous, the yoga studio is gorgeous. You will love it and we will help you with all the planning. Adam.

My family stayed here for a week and had a wonderful time. It's located in Cholila, an off the beaten path town about 2.5 hours south of Bariloche, less than 15 minutes from the entrance to PN Los Alerces- one of Argentina's best. The place is fantastic- great for a family. The cabin is spacious and rustic but not old or worn. There is a beautiful pool, a green house and garden from which we picked fresh vegetables, and a world class parilla grill. The cabin sits on more than 1000 acres, all of which can be explored using the owner's 11 horses- which can be ridden free of charge. This place is truly beautiful. Tremendous fly fishing nearby- within walking distance is a great stream and there are several larger rivers and lakes a short drive away. Tons of hiking nearby. Try to coordinate your visit with the National Asado Festival- you'll be glad you did. It's not easy to get to without a car but a place like this is worth the visit. One of the most beautiful placed in the world.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at La Rinconada Ranch. Getting there takes a bit of work (2 hour flight from Buenos Aires + 3 hour drive to the ranch) but the experience was well worth the effort. The accommodations are warm and relaxing and the setting/location is absolutely beautiful. We spent most of our time exploring and fly fishing the nearby lakes/rivers of Los Alceres National Park (unbelievable fly fishing!!!!). It was a treat to come back each evening and read by the fire or enjoy the hot tub. While my husband and I aren’t big yoga people, we were still very impressed by the yoga studio (yoga enthusiasts will be in heaven). The property care takers were very helpful and the two ranch dogs are adorable. Great place to go if you want to unwind and enjoy the outdoors. Would definitely recommend for fly fishing trips, yoga retreats or family getaways.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children.
