We rented the ranch for a large family gathering (18) and had bed space to spare. The house was spacious enough for everyone including the porch dining table with seating for 20. We ranged in age from 7-75 and everyone had a great time. There are so many activities to do right on the property that a week passed without us venturing out except for a food run. The house is well stocked with basic cooking supplies (spices, sugar, flour, etc.) while the pool house boasts a large supply of tennis racquets and balls. Questions to the caretaker were answered in a timely manner and a few minor inconveniences were addressed in a timely manner. If traveling from a far off location I would recommend planning to stay a few days before or after your rental period at another place if you want to site see because you probably won't want to leave the ranch once you get there!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

A group of friends and I had the pleasure of staying at High Rock Ranch over the new year's eve weekend and had an exceptional experience. We had a good feeling about the place after seeing photos online, but the way it felt to drive onto this beautiful property and take those first steps into the main lodge exceeded our every expectation. The amenities are fantastic and very well-maintained, and the house is stocked with sports and entertainment equipment, games, extra bedding and towels, and even a bottle of wine. The caretaker, W. Dan (who happens to be an expert on the local Anderson Valley Brewery), is really nice and helpful too. All in all, a very fun, comfortable, relaxing place. We can't wait to come back for another amazing weekend. Thanks, Wood brothers!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

About the owner: The Wood boys grew up spending their summers on the family's four generation Humboldt County, Northern California vacation ranch. The Woods continue their tradition of spending time together at the family's High Rock Ranch.
