Location: Laguna Country House is located on 20 forested acres in the middle of famed vineyards and enjoys complete quiet and privacy, along with spectacular views of vineyards and forest. Wildlife abounds on this property and you may find deer grazing near the house and wild turkeys hurrying their chicks across the driveway. This is our closest home to Santa Rosa, just eight miles from Hwy 101, and our only house in this vicinity. About a ten minute drive down the road, you’ll find the town of Forestville, with shopping, fine dining and markets, Steelhead Beach with public river beach access and Burke's Canoes which provides an unforgettable day canoeing down the river from Forestville to Guerneville. Ten minutes past Forestville, Sebastopol offers a cinema, live theater, restaurants and grocery stores. The Pacific coast is a 30-40 minute drive.
House: Sitting a ¼ mile off the road, Laguna Country House is a meticulously restored 4000 square feet 1897 Victorian farmhouse. It offers amazing views of vineyard and forest out of most windows ~ complete luxury in period style. There is incredible artwork throughout the house, recessed lighting in most rooms, central radiant floor heating, and ceiling fans in living room and all bedrooms. The large living room has comfortable seating in front of a gas fireplace. The gourmet kitchen has a Viking range and a Butler's Pantry complete with dishwasher, espresso machine, large dishwashing sinks, and wine fridge. The formal dining room seats 10 with two sets of French doors and vineyard view. This home has three bedrooms and three and a ½ bathrooms; plus a queen sofa-bed in the office and a daybed in one bedroom. Each of the three rooms are complete with queen beds, ceiling fans, satellite TV with premium channels, DVD players, reading areas, and lighted writing desks. One bathroom has dual sinks and a 6' claw-foot tub with separate walk-in shower, another has a 5' claw-foot with separate shower, and the third has a shower only with an outdoor "Cowboy Tub" for the adventurous. The office has a Dell computer with a 3-in-1 fax/printer/scanner, along with a sofa-bed which is kept made up as a bed. This sofa-bed can provide sleeping for two additional people. This home offers wireless satellite Internet access.
Grounds: Laguna Country House has beautiful outdoor spaces, including 15 acres of forested wilderness to explore. There's a 2100 square feet wrap-around veranda with hammock and lots of comfortable outdoor seating. Off the kitchen is an outdoor kitchen with piped gas grill. Terraced decks off the house lead to a covered dining pavilion with wood fireplace, ceiling fan, recessed lighting, and seating for eight. There's a six-person stonework spa with tile interior in the side yard. Raised planting beds feature heirloom tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, herbs, and cutting flowers.
