My husband and I recently stayed at Journey's End and had a FANTASTIC TIME!! The house is wonderfully decorated and very comfortable - we didn't want for anything except a longer stay. The pier is awesome and we caught fish everyday. The short ferry ride into Haveloc makes for a nice day excursion with stops at Lew's Bait and Tackle and pizza at Mario's so even though Minnesott Beach is quiet and low-key, things to do aren't that far away. From the pier you can watch the planes take off and land at the Marine base and I enjoyed that too. I highly recommend this house, the cottage next to it, and this area to anyone who wants a nice place to stay, a relaxing time and good fishing!! Thanks Terry!!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway.
Owner response: This review drives my desire to share my little slice of heaven. When you enjoy the river whether it be for sport fishing or for relaxing it is certain that you will come away from Journeys End Cottage refreshed and looking forward to your next vacation there. Thank you C & S!

My husband and I visited Journey's End to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. I needed a place to unwind and take time to just "BE". This was exactly what I needed and had been looking for. The home is lovely. Terry has it well maintained and well stocked with everything one would need to have a "home" "away from home". The Neuse River provided a panoramic setting for watching dolphins and stunning sunsets. In talking with the owner over the phone while making my plans, I felt like I had known her my whole life. She has a beautiful eye for decor and her love of art is evident throughout the home. If you need a family friendly home and/or a place to unwind you will definitely find it at Journey's End. Forgot to mention the BEACH after the Ferry ride at Minessott Beach is less than 45 minutes away and was wonderful!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

What a blessing when we found "Journey's End" to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversay....It was perfect in everyway...The cabin is cozy, charming, welcoming and stocked with anything you could think of. The view of the Neuse River at sunset is breath taking along with the great yard and the fabulous outdoor shower- with hot & cold water!!! Refreshingly delightful beyond words. The area will not disappoint and is perfect for taking day trips to Morehead City, Beaufort, New Bern and many more. We loved the friendlyness of everyone in Oriental and at Minnesott Beach.....The ferry workers are nice and love to talk during the trip across the Neuse....Highly recommend this lovely cabin and the area. The owner is a truly special person who truly appreciates the area and welcomes her guests with true hospitality and warmth....Come and share this piece of paradise....you won't regret it!!Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Our annual girl's weekend retreat to Journey's End was once again a success! Gorgeous weather greeted us all weekend and there is nothing like a good night's rest on the sleeping porch. This time we got to enjoy the new dock addition and the experience of the outdoor shower. We greeted the morning sun with coffee on the dock and ended the day toasting the sunset over a tranquil water view. This place just takes you back in time when life was enjoyed at a slower pace. I can't say enough great things about the owner and this magical place.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

I spent a total of about two weeks at Journeys End this summer. The peace and quiet, and the knotty pine floors and walls and the homliness of home makes this place special! But what makes it extroadinary is the sleeping porch with two beds and the outside shower with a big ole rain drop shower head! (Exilerating!) The sunset view on the Neuse amongst the array of huge trees and shrubs as the charcoal webber grill smells up the air with the days catch! Spectacular! Did I mention fishing right in your own backyard! I am certain this place will not disappoint!Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

My husband and I spent our 1st wedding anniversary at the lovely Journey's End cottage at Minnesott Beach this past weekend! We could not have asked for a more peaceful or relaxing weekend. The cottage has everything you need for a week or a weekend away from everything! The cottage is decorated beautifully, the yard is neat, and the view is incredible! We spent most of our time fishing right in front of the house and literally didn't see another person when we were at our private fishing spot! We loved it! We napped on the awesome sleeping porch, we cooked some great meals in the perfectly appointed kitchen, and grilled out on the charcoal Weber grill. The cottage is 10 minutes from Oriental where we spent some time shopping and visiting restaurants. We just loved it and have already recommended it to family & friends! We will be back!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My cousin & I spent an enchanted weekend at Journey's End after delivering our church youth group to Camp Don Lee. It was love at first sight when we walked through the door and felt as if we were walking back in time. The cottage is decorated so perfectly for its age, there was nothing shabby about this chic little place! We declined using any of the 3 bedrooms and instead spent two relaxing nights enjoying the sleeping porch instead. Nothing like having the rising morning sun greet you as an alarm clock. All the modern amenities were available in both the kitchen and bath. Saturday was spent leisurely exploring Oriental and we have to suggest the crabcake sandwich at the Marina Deli Bistro! Can't wait to schedule our next visit.......Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway.
