The Grey Barn is a beautifully renovated house specially designed for vacations, retreats and short term rentals in the heart of the Finger Lakes. With four unique bedrooms, two downstairs and two upstairs, it can easily sleep 9 guests and beyond!
The new kitchen is large and completely equipped. The appliances are new and all place settings and utensils are provided.
There are large sunny living spaces, a dining area and an open upstairs area for recreation and kids to play. One and a half baths, full laundry with fresh linens, towels and soaps provided, The Grey Barn is truly a complete home away from home. Wifi high-speed internet is available on site, and cell service as well.
There is also a second level porch with fantastic views and a tiny frog pond. We even have a ready-to-use grill so you can host an outdoor BBQ while watching the sunset!
The Grey Barn is perfect for families on vacation, visiting students, reunions, weddings, or any occasion. Hikers, cyclists, ornithologists and all recreation minded folks are welcome to stay to take advantage of all the Finger Lakes has to offer. On 2 pristine acres, there’s lots of room to get out and enjoy the country. It is located close to Universities, State Parks, Wineries, Ithaca and the airport nothing is very far away.

When I came to the finger lakes I knew I was home. As a lover of the country there is no more beautiful scenery than Cayuga Lake and its rolling hills and waterhfalls. As a lover of cities, Ithaca is a unique blend of college town, agricultural center and state of the art high tech industry. There are restaurants representing cuisine from all over the globe, world renowned museums and infinite things to do and see. As a nurse and farmer and now VRBO member I love helping people get the most from their well earned vacations. That is why we put so much thought into designing The Grey Barn as a home away from home for travelers from all over the world. Come experience The Finger Lakes with us!

Christmas Blessings at the Gray Barn!

The Gray Barn was such a blessing to our family this past Christmas. Our son and daughter-in-law live in Ithaca while attending graduate school at Cornell. Because of their schedule we traveled from South Carolina to be with them for the Holidays. My brother, his wife, and five children traveled from Michigan to be with us too. The Gray Barn was perfect for our large group. It was nice to have such an open space where we could all be together. The whole group fit around the table for meals! Plenty of room to play group games or sit quietly to put together a puzzle. We visited some of the beautiful waterfalls in Ithaca, took the kids skiing (only about a 20 min. drive), visited an alpaca farm, a cider mill, and some of the surrounding small towns. The grocery store was a short 10 minute drive. We also took advantage of the small market at the gas station just down the road (they have a Duncan Dounuts too, good for those early morning risers). The beds were very comfortable and the washer and dryer made me want to throw my set at home out the door! The towels were thick and soft too. I would highly recommend the Gray Barn to anyone visiting Ithaca. I spoke with Sarah on the phone a few times before our arrival and again once we arrived. Everything was perfect! Thanks Sarah.

We stayed at the Grey Barn for a week in July while our son was getting married in Ithaca. It was perfect for our use and Sarah and Keith could not have been more accommodating. From freshly made comfortable beds to fluffy bathroom linens, kitchen supplies to organic produce - even baby equipment for our great-grandson. The location was perfect for our needs and I hope we can stay there again in the future.

This is a great house and our hosts were wonderful.We were at a Cornell event and met together with family. The house had great space for our brunch on Sunday morning. The open kitchen and great room were wonderful and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes. If you think you may be hosting a dinner or brunch party, this is the home you want. Some of the sleep areas are only separated by screens and do not offer much privacy. This was not a problem for our family, but if you want 4 or more private spaces this may not be your best bet.The drive to Tripphamer Mall was about 10 minutes-a bit more to Cornell.

This is a great place to stay! We had 8 people (two kids) staying and it worked out great. They have a big upstairs for those who want a little more privacy or need more space. The whole place is clean and had bright, happy colors and artwork on the wall. They had all of the amenities that you need for a short stay, including games and such for kids. We were able to get into Ithaca within 10 minutes. I would definitely rent this place again.

Recently I stayed at the greybarn with a few highschool friends for a wedding. We had such a great time at the house and thought it was an beautiful house. Everyone agreed the beds were extremly comfotable and we had a lot of fun playing various sporting games in the yard. I would definetly recommend this house to anyone staying in the area it made a great weekend for us that much better to have a nice place relax before and after the wedding!

We couldn't have imagined a lovelier place for our week-long getaway! The space perfectly accommodated 3 couples, each with a young child. And the wonderful owners went out of their way to lend us some baby essentials like a high chair & baby gates. We found fresh flowers on our arrival & a midweek delivery of fresh vegetables from their farm - a lovely, unexpected gesture. It was a nice surprise to find the space even larger than suggested by the photos. The huge, open concept living area, was absolutely perfect for keeping an eye on the children, and the yard was ideal for playing & lounging, despite being on a busy road. The kitchen was very well stocked, the bathrooms were super clean, the towels were plush and plentiful, and the modern washer and dryer came in very handy. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Grey Barn again, or recommend it to friends and family. It worked out perfectly for our group, even better than we had imagined!!

The Grey Barn is a lovely home in a beautiful setting! It has all the comforts of home and much more. We found it very clean and well stocked with everything we could possibly need. Although there were only 6 of us, the house can easily accommodate more. It's close to Ithaca and surrounding Finger Lakes destinations, including many wineries. We had a great time and I give it my highest recommendation.

We stayed at The Grey Barn while visiting Ithaca for our daughter's graduation from Cornell. The Grey Barn was perfect for our family! It is close to Cornell (15 minutes), but away from the craziness of graduation weekend in Ithaca. There was plenty of room for our extended family, including a big yard for hosting a small post graduation barbeque. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed. (We actually hired a Cornell "Hotelie" student to cater for us - I would highly recommend this as well!) The entire house is well appointed. Wide open spaces for gathering; private rooms for when you've had enough. Two bathrooms, but only one shower. (Somehow, we made this work for our crowd!). I can't say enough great things about The Grey Barn. It was truly lovely.

Several friends and I (some with small children) stayed at the Grey Barn during our college reunion weekend. The accommodations were wonderful - everything was spotless and there was plenty of room for all of us. The house has a great kitchen with all necessary supplies, there are lovely common areas and a delightful outdoor area to enjoy a meal or just relax. It was a terrific alternative to the dorms, and we were so grateful to have a spacious, comfortable and welcoming house to return to at the end of the day.

The house was very spacious, comfortable and provided everything we needed for our stay. Plenty of room for adults and children alike. The owners were very friendly, answered all concerns immediately. There were even flowers on the kitchen counter and fresh lettuce from their organic garden in the fridge to make us feel welcome. Location very near all our activities in Ithaca and Cornell University. Highly recommended!
