My wife and I were lucky enough to stay at Sunset Point for part of our honeymoon. We stayed a week and enjoyed every second. The views and the relaxing ambience were just what we expected. The cottage was very clean and well maintained. We decided to sleep in the living room and not one of the two bedrooms. We wanted to take full advantage of the fireplace and views of the mountain (very romantic setting). The drive to downtown was quick and the beautiful scenes of nearby hikes, bike rides and canoe trips were just a few minutes away. We took advantage of the fresh lobster delivery offered and had our very first taste of fresh Maine lobster in the comforts of the cottage(reasonably priced). Terri and Joe were great with everything. We truly had a great time. One thing to watch out for when driving to the cottage for the first time is to remember to drive all the way to the top of the mt. The first cottage on the left is not sunset pt. (woops) We can't wait to go back and enjoy more of sunset point cottage! Make sure to take advantage of the books in the cottage showing all the activities available. We really enjoyed the nearby hikes. Thanks again Terri and Joe!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: The sunset itself is peaceful and relaxing, especially after a day exploring the park! We try our best to provide our guests with a comfortable and memorable stay. We welcome repeat customers (with a discount). We welcome your feedback and value your business.

This was a perfect quiet and contemplative getaway spot. Close to hiking trails and the park, it provided a perfect respite from the bustle of the main towns on the Island, while being close enough to several for entertainment when desired. Lovely sunsets and quiet mornings, comfortable rooms and homey atmosphere.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We really enjoyed our stay at sunset cottage. It was quiet and relaxing...a great get away for our family. It was a bit smaller than we anticipated (especially the loft area) but my daughters adjusted and we had a great time. ...could use some more seating in the living room area.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for your suggestion. We have added one additional seat to the den area!

The cozy cabin was a great base for our family of 5 vacation (ages 4, 10, 13) to explore Acadia and MDI. The kids loved the sleeping loft and the adults loved the deck, a perfect location to enjoy a local brew and the sunset after a day of biking, hiking, etc. As advertised, the cottage is centrally located and close to Bar Harbor and the park, as well as convenient to 198 and 102 for exploring the west side of the island. The only noise at night was a coyote in the distance. The owners were very helpful and responsive to questions. I would recommend Sunset Point to friends and family. Note to parents with young children - there is a shower but no tub. Our 4 year old learned to shower on this trip.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We rented this cabin last June for a family vacation. The setting was lovely and quiet and the cabin was clean and cozy. It was perfect for our family of five--my kids were aged 13, 10, and 8 at the time. It was the in an excellent location for exploring the park and Bar Harbor--we would definitely visit again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Great place - would go again! Quiet, secluded location, but only minutes from Bar Harbor and Acadia national park. Cottage was cozy, clean, and was stocked with all the necessary kitchen utensils, etc. Really enjoyed sitting on deck, taking in the expansive view after a long day of hiking. Renters were professional and helpful.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.
