The place is even more beautiful than the pictures. Very serene and quiet. The owner, David was very pleasant to deal with and the overall renting experience was very easy. We would highly recommend this as a getaway from Nyc Boating on lake emerald is a must do activity and highly recommended. We have a group of friends (4-5 couples) that have done a ski vacation in the Poconos for several years. Hands down, we all agreed this is the nicest home we've stayed in. Besides the high end furnishings (they even have dual zone Nest thermostats!), linens are all provided and the home is in a very convenient location - just 10 minutes to Camelback ski resort! We'll definitely be coming back and looking to rent here again. Thanks David!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our group of 13 (including 6 young children - all under 5) stayed in this beautiful home in Emerald Lakes. Immediately upon entering the house we were impressed with the cleanliness, the large common area, the comfortable bedrooms, and the open-layout kitchen (where we ended up spending most of our time!). Some of the equipment and/or kitchen utensils do require replacement, but that didn't prevent us from thoroughly enjoying our meals in the spacious dining room and kitchen. The house had so many nice amenities - extremely comfortable beds, big leather couches, gas fireplaces, and double-sink bathrooms (great for large groups and kids). Any minor issues with the house were quickly resolved. David was responsive, courteous, and a pleasure to work with. The entire group agrees that it was an ideal home for our vacation. We would definitely stay at this house again, and would recommend it without reserve.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our family considered ourselves very lucky to have chosen a house that felt like home over thanksgiving. It is exactly as described, everything in good working order and in a wonderful setting! The owners are accommodating in every way; the kitchen is well equipped and utterly modern and up to date; the bedrooms and baths are fine and dining room seats a large group - not typical in the nmountains. glad to have been cautioned to bring a gate for the toddler as indeed the steps between the TWO living rooms are steep. We were very grateful and pleased.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We chose this house because of its proximity to the lake and the amount of common living space, as we were traveling with young children and extended family. The kitchen/living room/dining room set up was perfect for all of us to enjoy one another's company with plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen was large enough to prepare large family meals but could use some replacement of damaged and well-used cookware. THe bathrooms were well-appointed with fresh, modern decor and the view from the master bedroom was lovely in the early morning. We enjoyed the use of the pedal boat and canoe on the lake and the children had great fun on the "private" beach, which was close enough to the house to allow then to swim back and forth across the lake. Fishing was also very easy from the house's dock. We did take the advice of a former renter in taking a baby gate for the stairs down to the ground floor and that worked well for us, too. We did have a few "hiccups" while we were there, but the owner, David, was very responsive to our telephone calls and rectified the situations quickly.Did you find this review helpful? We held our family reunion here and the house was perfect. The house was comfortable with plenty of common space for gathering and chatting. The location with the dock and small beach steps away was ideal. The owner was also very easy to work with and super hospitable. The kids especially enjoyed the paddle boats!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

My family and I recently spent a week at the Lake House. We are three generations, and we range in age from 8 to 82. All of us had a great time, but especially the kids. The house itself is extremely comfortable, with the communal rooms spacious and inviting. It is wonderful how the kitchen flows into the dining room which flows into the upper floor living room. There is another living room, actually a TV room, directly below it. Both rooms feature huge comfy leather couches. The lake is great, and we kept the paddleboat busy every day. Weather while we were there maxed in the high eighties, but the airconditioning worked flawlessly. If you go, be sure to take in the Bushkill Falls. Do not miss the town of Jim Thorpe, which is about 40 miles to the south. Jim Thorpe is a perfectly preserved nineteenth century town, and is a gem. In it, visit the mansion of Asa Packer. About ten miles to the east of Jim Thorpe is the small town of Lansford, where you must visit the No 9 Coalmine and Museum. You have never seen anything like it. Not to be missed. Re restaurants, the town of Tannersville is about 20 minutes away, and has the standard assortment of restaurant chains. But something special there is the Tandoori Palace, with wonderful Indian food to enjoy there or take out.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Warning: The pictures ALMOST tell it all. As gorgeous as all the pictures portrayed, the house was even better in person. I could not have asked for a more luxurious home to stay with my group. We arrived at night and there were no lights. Each light we turned on was coupled with gasps and wows. This is by far the best house we have stayed in during our regular Pocono trips. All spaces and furnitures were clean. Appliances are new and well maintained. This modern dream house has five bedrooms with five memory-foam beds that was very relaxing to sleep in and equipped with flat screen televisions. Each of the bathrooms had double sinks for utmost convenience. There are massive windows in the upstairs living and dining room that display the gorgeous lake that the house faces. There are also 4-seater paddle boats that could be rented during warmer seasons. My group thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owner, David was a true pleasure to work with. Never had I dealt with a home-owner who was so accommodating and so sincerely concerned about our time spent in his house. He was very prompt with responding to all my emails and phonecalls. He was nothing but kind and professional. This owner also has another property, which I was looking to book at first, but was unavailable for the dates requested. Upon departure, members of my group expressed their gratitude that I had booked such a beautiful home and there were already comments about returning. I am looking forward to renting either this home again, or his other property in the future.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I stayed at this house with a group of 11 friends for a weekend during peak October foliage season. The house is recently built and is very well maintained. It feels brand new! The furnishings are all top notch, and the big open kitchen is especially great for cooking for a large group while socializing together. Wraparound windows in the second floor living room provide stunning views of the beautiful waterfront, and a little 2 person paddle boat in the water is a fun diversion. Finally, there was no expense spared for the mattresses in all the bedrooms. Everyone said they got the best sleep of their life, and after checking the brand online we found they cost over $5k each! The location is good as well. The Delaware water gap is a 40 minute drive away, Mt Poconos is right next door, and there is a nearby 24hr super Walmart for buying any groceries or last minute items. Our host David was also very helpful and nice. When we had trouble getting the wifi to work, he sent his housekeeper over to help us. I hope he continues to share his amazing Poconons property with appreciative people!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

We had an amazing time at this lake house. David, the owner, was very friendly and easy to deal with. He made the whole renting process easy. My sisters and I wanted a beautiful home to celebrate our parents' 40th wedding anniversary. Since we all have small children, we wanted a secluded area where we knew we wouldn't disturb any one. This home did not disappoint. We spent most of our time in the kitchen and dining room either making feasts, eating or playing games. We recommend renting the paddle boat for the week, which we used consistently. They also supply life vests, which fit our small 21 month old and 4 year old twins perfectly. There is a small, private beach right next to the house (very short walk) where we spent countless hours. The kids loved it. It was also a great place to take family photos. The men in our family used the private dock each morning to try their hand at fishing. The wraparound deck gave way to beautiful views at any time of day. Our parents could watch the kids play on the beach without leaving the deck! Other great amenities - the grill, wireless internet, the big screen TV, washer/dryer and the jacuzzi tub in the master suite. Something to consider with small children would be to bring a gate, because this home has steep hard wood stairs. We brought a portable gate to place at the top of the stairs. The deck also has a set of stairs that we barricaded whenever we brought the young ones out. What also would have been nice was a way to rinse off (a hose?) any sand or dirt before entering the house, especially coming back from the private beach. What worked for us was using a big bucket of water and rinsing our legs and feet before entering the house. But these are minor issues. Area activities we thoroughly enjoyed were renting a pontoon boat and tube at Lake Wallenpaupack, hiking at Bushkill Falls, gambling at Mt. Airy Casino, dinner and a movie at Casino Theater Entertainment Center, and taking a train ride and visiting the old jail at historic Jim Thorpe, PA. There is really so much to do for any age or any season. All in all, we had a fabulous time at this lake house. This vacation will be one we will always remember. Thank you so much, David and Johanna!! FYI - One place to avoid is Tokyo Tea House Restaurant, which had the worst service I have ever encountered. The service to the tourists was awful. The restaurant owner was especially rude and disrespectful to our entire party of 11.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
