Year Purchased: 1998
We have been married for 24 years, and live most of the year in South Florida, where we have a textile business. We have two grown sons and are long-time vegetarians. We are animal lovers, and fans of yoga, hiking, swimming, cooking, theater, and independent films.
Why the Owner Chose Alford
After renting for two summers in Great Barrington, and partaking in the amazing cultural experiences and soaking in the natural beauty of the Berkshire Mountains, we knew we wanted a permanent retreat to return to, year-round. We can have peace and tranquility when we want it, at the same time being minutes away from great restaurants and entertainment.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We love experimenting with different hikes and bike rides, and exploring the various lakes and rivers available within minutes of leaving our property. In summers, Tanglewood is a weekly excursion. Summers also offer abundant locally grown produce. Whatever we don't grow in our garden, we can purchase from the amazing nearby markets. In winter, skiing at Catamount and Butternut is minutes away.
